Safety, trust & environment

Dogs can be pretty different from each other, so how I interact with your dog will depend on their needs and yours. As a general rule, I'm pretty affectionate with dogs but can be more distant if you or your dog prefer that.

Information Leah M. would like to know about your pet

I am unqualified to take on elderly, ill, or handicapped dogs, or administer medical treatments like fluids or injections (oral pills are fine). I cannot take any large, reactive dogs. Please let me know about any special needs your dog may have or quirks I need to know.

A typical day

I use scentwork, tricks, or stimulation toys to keep dogs mentally stimulated. To burn off a dog's physical energy, walks and playtime are really critical. In general, I'll try to follow your lead and your dog's typical routine.

Pet care experience

My family has raised dogs since I was young. With the last two dogs (and especially our newest), I've been responsible for at-home training (house-training, walking, commands) and taking care of their needs.

Leah has been outstanding with our dog and drop in visits. She is very reliable, has been great with communicating and wonderful with attention and care to our furbaby. Our pet was sick one day in the house and Leah cleaned up after her and stayed twice as long at the house to make sure she was okay and the house was set. Talk about going above and beyond!! Highly recommend!!!

I've known Leah since middle school, and she's always had a big heart for animals. Her family has had multiple dogs over the years that I've known her. Their dogs have had a variety of different personalities, and Leah has always been attentive to their specific needs. She's always thinking about what's best for the dog and taking responsibility and initiative for their needs. Not only is she a good caretaker for her dogs, but she's also attentive to the people who may be around them. She's thoughtful of the dogs and community, making sure that all are comfortable.
