“Ryan was fantastic! We were in a pinch and needed someone last minute and Ryan came through! Very reliable and gave great updates. And Daisy loved him! We will definitely use him again.”

“Jo was absolutely wonderful looking after our kitties. She was extremely informative and very responsive. It’s always stressful leaving our kitties alone, but Jo made us feel at ease. Would absolutely rebook again!”

“Sandy took amazing care of pur cat during our vacation! Our cat was well looked after and got many cuddles and play time. Sandy also sent us pictures from each visit.”

“Beth went above and beyond caring for our two ragdoll cats. I could tell they had been loved when we got home after a week trip, they were less anxious than usual and Beth even brought in our mail without being asked. Lovely person, we felt very fortunate to have found her.”

“Danielle was an excellent sitter for our two doggies. The daily updates and pictures she sent us gave us peace of mind that they were in good hands with Danielle. We will most definitely continue to use Danielle for her sitting services!!!”

“Christina did such a great job taking care of our cat, Sox. It's clear that she is very knowledgeable about animal behavior, and it allowed us to have a worry-free trip. I especially enjoyed her clever and informative updates, the pictures she sent at each visit, and the fun video of Sox at play. He was happy to see us when we returned, and he showed no evidence of stress whatsoever. Christina proved to be very reliable, and I would not hesitate to ask her to check in on Sox the next time we're away!”

“Krystal is absolutely fantastic! She is so great with our cats and puts our mind at ease when we have to go out of town. One of our cats is less friendly & we’ve struggled to find the right sitter for him, but Krystal has won his heart & we’re so thankful. If you need someone to trust with your furry friends, Krystal should be your go to!”

“Natalia did an excellent job looking after my cat Shweta while I was gone on vacation for Labor day weekend! Shweta became quite acclimated with Natalia and I look forward to booking her again for Shweta in the future! Highly recommend!”

“Rayzel was fantastic for our five cats. She just really loves animals, so she spent a lot more time playing with them than we would have hoped for. She sent LOTS of updates and messages, and it was clear she understood the personality of each one. She was wonderful dealing with the one who needs medicine daily, and she got our extremely skittish one out of her shell. We recommend her very highly!”

“Toni always goes above and beyond with our cats! We have a shy cat and by her second time having come to visit, the shy girl was willing to make herself known. That speaks volumes about Toni’s soul. Such a good person. We can’t wait for her to visit again!”
“Anna was just wonderful! She came for drop-in visits and looked after my dog and cat while we were gone for 8 days. I looked forward to seeing the photos of my sweet dog on his walks and I couldn’t believe my extremely shy cat made appearances for photos, too! We were relaxed on our vacation knowing our pets were well looked after. Thank you so very much, Anna!”

About: I had 2 dogs growing up, and helped my parents take care of them. My parents were busy most days, so I was the one who would take them for walks. My dog recently got his teeth removed, so I also learned how to take care of him and how to feed him properly with that in mind. I’ve also had to take care of both dogs when my parents are out of town, taking them outside, administering medication, and feeding and providing water for them. I have done the same for my grandparents. I love animals a lot, and I volunteered at animal shelters in high school and can properly care for and clean up after many pets.. I’m currently taking all of my classes online, so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I can be available at any needed times, both weekdays and weekends. I will provide food and water according to instructions. I will keep a clean, safe, and loving environment, and ensure that they get time to play and exercise regularly. I’m great at following instructions, and I am very attentive to any special requests that are given by the owner.
“Hope was amazing!!!! Maxwell was comfortable with her from the very start and fell in love with her quickly. It was almost like they were kindred spirits...REALLY! She was prompt and simply delightful. If anyone gets the chance to utilize her services, she some HIGHLY recommended. P.S. Hope, Maxwell misses you!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of Bibi! We truly appreciate everything you did and all the updates. Your daughter is so adorable 😊❤️ We would love to book with you again in the future!”

About: I have been taking care and watching my own dog Millie for nearly a decade. I frequently walk, watch, and house sit for family and friends during the holidays. From puppies to older dogs I have experienced care with giving dogs medicine including diabetic shots. I love dogs and am passionate about taking care of them and making sure they are the happiest they can be. I’m currently in between jobs and looking for work so I am available any time during the week or weekend. I am currently dog walking for one client every week day around noon so outside of that I am available whenever needed! I frequently walk my own dog at home as well as feed them breakfast and dinner. I have dealt with many different breeds and types of dogs and can adapt to any station.
“Lindsey always does a great job taking care of our cat! She is very communicative and punctual, and she even makes sure that our cat doesn't get into too much mischief while we are out. We would highly recommend her services.”

“Had a really great experience with Deidre. As a nervous cat mom, she put my mind at ease while I traveled and made sure my cat was well taken care of in my absence. Plan to use her moving forward on my trips if she’s available!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Libertyville
This is the first time we ever let anyone care for our boys as our big guy can be stubborn. Jillian was so nice. It’s completely obvious she loves animals. She was on time, professional, and we even got updates that the boys were more than fine. I’m quite sure the boys were a little disappointed that “mom and dad” were back. We will definitely ask Jillian to care for our boys again.

Valerie is fantastic! From the moment she came to meet Charley, we knew we’d found the right person. She’s kind, reliable, and great with Charley—who warmed up to her right away. We’re so happy we connected with her and will definitely be requesting her services again in the future.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
