About: With years of hands-on experience caring for my two dogs, along with boarding and overnight sitting for friends' pets, I’m well-versed in handling dogs of all personalities. I’ve successfully managed unexpected situations, like safely retrieving a dog who got loose from its leash. I offer reliable, loving care for your dog, ensuring they get the attention and exercise they need while you’re away! I work full-time but have availability in the early mornings and afternoons Monday through Friday and possibly on weekends on a pre-scheduled basis. I’m flexible and happy to arrange walk times that fit your schedule, ensuring your dog gets the care and attention they deserve! I’m sorry I’m not able to take care of pets inside my own home due to sensitive household members. I am happy to take care of pets at your home and outside the home.
“Maya is awesome! My dogs love her!! She did a last minute dog walk for us when we were not going to make it home in time for their walk and feeding. Highly recommend, we willl defintiely book Maya again!”

About: Hi, my name is Grace and I grew up with all sorts of animals, but by far, dogs are my favorite! I have house sat, walked and overnight stayed. I have years of experience with walking, feeding and if needed giving medicine to my own pup and dogs I have watched. I currently have a spaniel/dachshund mix puppy named Levi. He’s very friendly and sociable & will love to play with your pup. I am sure to send pictures and updates to let you know that your pup is safe and having fun. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully have the opportunity to meet your pup! On my days I’m available to Rover I am sure to spend all the time in the world with your pup. I live near parks and my own complex also has a dog run area so your dog is sure to get exercise! I’ll be sure to spend all of the time with your pup. I live in an apartment complex that has many dogs and areas to socialize. You can guarantee 24/7 watch!
“Sheryl is amazing!!! We have a 90 lb lab, and she handled him beautifully! Browser had such an instant positive reaction to Sheryl that we knew she was the right person. Sheryl came same day with almost no notice - I had just gotten out of the hospital and needed someone to walk Browser. She is used to handling large dogs and it showed. Great communication skills, very personable. We will definitely continue to use Sheryl - what a great find!!”

About: I've had my own dog since he was six, and now he's 14. From his puppy-like stage to being almost 90 in human years, I've taken care of him in all types of physicality. He was my first dog, but I took care of my friends' and neighbors' dogs since around 6th grade. I've taught him everything from shaking my hand, to weaving through my legs. My current job requires me to come in on an as-needed basis, typically on weekends, but only from 9-3. I have all the time in the world! My yard is not fenced, but we do have a long leash/rope that we keep our dog on when outside (he runs through invisible dog fences). My dog doesn't eat shoes and won't go on furniture unless allowed, so at night he just sleeps in a dog bed. I have worked with crate-trained dogs and always do my best to maintain the pet's daily lifestyle.
“Christina did a wonderful job taking of my dog. She gave him his medication and made sure he was warm and dry when taking him outside. She also spent time just petting him and sitting with him. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Deidre was AMAZING with my with two pups and can’t RECOMMEND her enough! Unfortunately, one of my dogs became very ill before I left for vacation and required extensive, round the clock care. Deirdre was able to administer all of the medications, stick to the strict food regimen, come by every 2 hours to check in, and even cleaned up all of the accidents from my sick pup. :/ She kept me updated throughout the trip with texts and pictures, asked questions when needed, and when my other dog sitter fell through at last minute, she was able to rearrange her schedule to cover. Overall, I am very grateful for her help and it truly put my mind at ease knowing Deirdre could be there to take care of them! Thank you again!”

“Rayzel did well with my new rescue Kellie. She spent time getting to know her in advance. On the date, Rayzel arrived on time, took Kellie for a productive walk and then fed her. They got along well even though Kellie is still a bit skittish around strangers. I was very pleased with the service we received from Rayzel.”

“We cannot say enough good things about Peter. We found Peter on Rover during a stressful time. We had to move out of our home into temporary housing. Our usual dog walker could no longer take care of us because we were too far away. Peter stepped in and made the transition seamless. Our girls quickly came to trust him. He has been wonderful with his walk updates and reaching out with any questions. I will be sorry to lose him when we move back home and I am sure our fur-babies will too.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
