“I am very happy with Guadalupe’s care of my pup. Communication: great; following special instructions: excellent; general care and love of my pup: fantastic. She was also available for a last minus request (due to failed planning on my part), which was a big deal for me. This was my second booking with Guadalupe, and I will likely book again. Thanks Guadalupe!”

“Rebecca is amazing! We are new to the are and this was our first time using Rover and she made it a great experience. Our animals love her and she is incredibly dependable. Thank you so much Rebecca for taking such great care of our animals.”

About: My background is in social work and I am the oldest of four kids. Growing up we always had a golden retriever as a member of our family. This last August our family said goodbye to our sweet angel, Marley. I now have a little family of my own, and my son is eager to have a furry friend around. Him and my husband are super active, love playing in the mud, and want to prepare for our own dog one day.🤞We would love to host and take care of your animals. I have experience as a nanny, a caregiver for disabled and elderly folk, as well as two decades of dog nurturing and sitting. Can also provide care for bunnies. My husband and I are in between jobs. We have a 2.5 year old boy who is enamored with dogs and misses our previous pupper who passed from cancer in ‘24. We are home full time and keep our house smoke-free, hygienic, child-proofed…oh and hearts full of love to share! We can follow whatever guidelines you request as needed. We ask that you provide any resources for that at the beginning of the service please.
“Ryan is great with our dogs. He is gentle and kind with them. He walks them and takes pictures of the walks with their report card. Ryan is great at communicating and is very timely. We are grateful for his partnership with our dogs”

About: I truly take care of pets, being responsible and careful. I have had pets with disabilities, very old, and I have given them medicine orally, and topically and changed the bandages, as well as fed with my palm for very old and blind ones. I currently work part time and mostly available to take care of pets. My schedule is flexible for boarding on and off, as well as weekends I live in a single house with fenced backyard. I am available for taking care of your loved ones and have a nice place in my house for them❤️. It is clean and cozy.
“Faith did an awesome job and our fur buddy loved her too!! She is clearly very knowledgeable about dealing with bigger dogs and what questions to ask. Very happy with her services and will definitely use her again!!”

“Toni is not only extremely professional and experienced with dogs but she gave my pup so much love and had no problem with personalized care (specific feeding routine, walking a strong dog, 6+ pictures per walk, written daily reports). Toni was so communicative and I was never worried about my dog despite being out of the country and needing last minute edits to my booking! I am picky about who I trust with my dog since she’s a large adult rescue dog but I’d confidently recommend any dog owner to use Toni’s services! Your dog will thank you for it !! ??”

About: I love all animals and am dedicated to providing you and your pets a fun, safe, stress-free experience. I really miss having pets of my own and I’m so excited for the opportunity to take care of them! 🫶🏻 Though I’m employed full time as a chemist, I work from my apartment several days a week. This gives me a lot of flexibility for walks or cat boarding throughout the week. Evenings are super easy for me too for additional walks or drop-offs! When your cat stays with me, you can be sure they’ll get plenty of love, attention, and care. Since my apartment is a studio, it’s super easy to keep an eye on them. I’m great at following all care instructions, no matter how specific. I just want to do whatever makes you feel comfortable and your pet feel at ease!
“Ashley is a top knotch dog walker and human being! She loves my dog as much as I do, and that’s the best thing you can ask for. Always goes above and beyond to make sure the pup is taken care of! Couldn’t recommend more!!”

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs almost my whole life! My personal pet care background is incredibly diverse. I currently manage a lively three-cat household with my sweet cuddle bug Lillie, and my sister’s rambunctious and silly littermate brothers, Scout and Sawyer. I am also the proud owner of a childhood calico named Luna, and a Shepherd/golden mix, Osa. Because Osa is a high-energy, reactive dog, I learned a lot from her and personally worked on training her. Additionally, I have experience with senior pets. I lovingly cared for my late childhood dog, Sisi, which included managing her daily medications. I have also administered short-term medications to cats. I specialize exclusively in house sitting at your home, drop-in visits, and neighborhood dog walks. I look forward to giving your pets the absolute best care! :) My schedule is very flexible this summer, which makes it easy to stick to whatever daily routine your pets are used to. Whether they need a mid-day drop-in visit, a walk, or someone to stay overnight to keep them company, I can easily accommodate their regular timing. Since I will be caring for your pets in your home, my main priority is keeping their environment safe and consistent. I am highly attentive to details like securing doors and gates, keeping dogs properly leashed during walks, and following your specific household instructions. I always send regular photo updates and check-ins so you have full peace of mind while you are away.

“Very communicative. Gave my pup what he needed. I am very pleased. It is a little nerve-wracking to open your house and little puppy up to a stranger, but Kyle is a man who builds trust, and he does a very good job. Thank you Kyle!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs the professionally the past 2 years and I’ve lived with pets my whole life. Nothing makes me happier than animals living their best lives. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays which makes my schedule very easy to fit in a weekend boarding and walks through the day! I live in an apartment that welcomes all pets. About: Hello! My name is Sam; I’m an experienced petsitter and have worked with animals - including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and small rodents - nearly my entire life. I volunteered at Save-A-Pet in Grayslake for over 6 years. Additionally, I worked as a dog handler at Central Bark doggy daycare in Grayslake, and was a stablehand at Shorewood Acres in Grayslake for 4 years. These experiences fine-tuned my ability to read dog and cat body language and behavior, ensuring that your pets are safe! I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid & CPR Certified. Additionally, I have my own 90lb GSD/staffy mix, who helped me learn so much more about dog training, enrichment, and nutrition. I can assure you, your pets will be safe with me as your pet sitter, dog walker, or drop-in visitor. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet. Thank you for your time and consideration! I currently WFH on a flexible schedule, so I am super flexible on bookings! I am able to make weekdays, nights, weekends, and mornings work to fit your needs. FOR OVERNIGHT CARE, PLEASE READ: If you are seeking overnight pet-sitting, please note that I can only stay overnight for clients whose pets are dog-friendly, as my own dog would need to come with so that he is cared for overnight as well. I would require a meet and greet (these are free!) before your set dates to make sure they get along; my pup has never met a dog that he doesn't like! I am huge on safety and comfort for every pet that I work with. To ensure the safety of both your pets and myself, I consistently monitor body language and behavior to assess how your pet is feeling! I follow all special instructions given to me to a T.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
