Guadalupe is great. She to Myron for a nice long walk last night. She followed all my special instructions for him, and is generally very easy to work with. I think that was my 2nd or third booking with her, and I will definitely continue to choose her.

About: I have 8 years of pet care experience and over 10 years of experience owning and caring for animals of my own, including cats and dogs. I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pets, and I’ll treat every animal in my care with the same patience, attention, and affection I give my own. I’m currently in nursing school, and my program is completely online at the moment, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m typically available every day and can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits. I’m happy to work around your pet’s normal routine and spend plenty of time giving them the care and attention they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I’ll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, litter care, routines, and any special needs. I understand that every pet has their own personality and boundaries, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable and secure. I’ll also keep you updated while you’re away so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: My background is in social work and I am the oldest of four kids. Growing up we always had a golden retriever as a member of our family. This last August our family said goodbye to our sweet angel, Marley. I now have a little family of my own, and my son is eager to have a furry friend around. Him and my husband are super active, love playing in the mud, and want to prepare for our own dog one day.🤞We would love to host and take care of your animals. I have experience as a nanny, a caregiver for disabled and elderly folk, as well as two decades of dog nurturing and sitting. Can also provide care for bunnies. My husband and I are in between jobs. We have a 2.5 year old boy who is enamored with dogs and misses our previous pupper who passed from cancer in ‘24. We are home full time and keep our house smoke-free, hygienic, child-proofed…oh and hearts full of love to share! We can follow whatever guidelines you request as needed. We ask that you provide any resources for that at the beginning of the service please.

About: As a lifelong dog lover, I’ve had the joy of raising two dogs from puppies, giving me firsthand experience with everything from potty training and basic training to the high energy and patience that young dogs require. I have been dog sitting for friends & family in Michigan & Illinois for 3 years now. In my professional life, I’m an Occupational Therapist who works with older adults. I regularly help residents safely care for and enjoy time with their beloved pets, so I’m experienced in recognizing changes in behavior, adapting to individual needs, and providing calm, attentive care. I’m also comfortable with senior dogs who may need a slower pace. Because I’m young and active, I love getting outside for walks, playtime, and adventures that help energetic dogs stay happy and engaged. Whether your pup wants a long walk, a game of fetch, or just lots of cuddles and companionship, I’ll tailor my care to their personality and routine. My goal is to treat every dog as if they were my own, so you can feel confident they’re safe, loved, and having a great time while you’re away! I work a normal 9-5 Monday-Friday. Therefore I prefer to do Friday afternoon-Sunday evening stays! This way I am available 24/7 for the pet. I have a fenced in yard (that is also dig proof). I currently have one very friendly dog who would be eager to any pups companion. My dog is allowed on furniture/in beds. We have a lot of sidewalks & trails within our neighborhood for walks. I have multiple security cameras.

About: Hello! My name is Sam; I’m an experienced petsitter and have worked with animals - including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and small rodents - nearly my entire life. I volunteered at Save-A-Pet in Grayslake for over 6 years. Additionally, I worked as a dog handler at Central Bark doggy daycare in Grayslake, and was a stablehand at Shorewood Acres in Grayslake for 4 years. These experiences fine-tuned my ability to read dog and cat body language and behavior, ensuring that your pets are safe! I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid & CPR Certified. Additionally, I have my own 90lb GSD/staffy mix, who helped me learn so much more about dog training, enrichment, and nutrition. I can assure you, your pets will be safe with me as your pet sitter, dog walker, or drop-in visitor. I look forward to getting to know you and your pet. Thank you for your time and consideration! I currently WFH on a flexible schedule, so I am super flexible on bookings! I am able to make weekdays, nights, weekends, and mornings work to fit your needs. FOR OVERNIGHT CARE, PLEASE READ: If you are seeking overnight pet-sitting, please note that I can only stay overnight for clients whose pets are dog-friendly, as my own dog would need to come with so that he is cared for overnight as well. I would require a meet and greet (these are free!) before your set dates to make sure they get along; my pup has never met a dog that he doesn't like! I am huge on safety and comfort for every pet that I work with. To ensure the safety of both your pets and myself, I consistently monitor body language and behavior to assess how your pet is feeling! I follow all special instructions given to me to a T.

About: I love all animals and am dedicated to providing you and your pets a fun, safe, stress-free experience. I really miss having pets of my own and I’m so excited for the opportunity to take care of them! 🫶🏻 Though I’m employed full time as a chemist, I work from my apartment several days a week. This gives me a lot of flexibility for walks or cat boarding throughout the week. Evenings are super easy for me too for additional walks or drop-offs! When your cat stays with me, you can be sure they’ll get plenty of love, attention, and care. Since my apartment is a studio, it’s super easy to keep an eye on them. I’m great at following all care instructions, no matter how specific. I just want to do whatever makes you feel comfortable and your pet feel at ease!

Toni is not only extremely professional and experienced with dogs but she gave my pup so much love and had no problem with personalized care (specific feeding routine, walking a strong dog, 6+ pictures per walk, written daily reports). Toni was so communicative and I was never worried about my dog despite being out of the country and needing last minute edits to my booking! I am picky about who I trust with my dog since she’s a large adult rescue dog but I’d confidently recommend any dog owner to use Toni’s services! Your dog will thank you for it !! ??

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life! I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, and personalities — and my own dog keeps me smiling every day. I know the joy (and responsibility) that comes with caring for a furry family member. I believe every pet deserves love, consistency, and fun! Whether it’s belly rubs, playtime, or sticking to a routine, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and a little spoiled while you’re away. I’m currently not working, but I’m looking for a full-time job. In the meantime, I have plenty of time and flexibility to devote to caring for pets each day. My dog is my best friend and a huge part of my life. He’s very well-behaved and loved beyond measure. I will make sure he’s cared for with consistency, comfort, and affection — from regular meals and potty breaks to lots of attention and snuggles. He’s treated like family, and I’d do the same for any pet I care for.

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs almost my whole life! My personal pet care background is incredibly diverse. I currently manage a lively three-cat household with my sweet cuddle bug Lillie, and my sister’s rambunctious and silly littermate brothers, Scout and Sawyer. I am also the proud owner of a childhood calico named Luna, and a Shepherd/golden mix, Osa. Because Osa is a high-energy, reactive dog, I learned a lot from her and personally worked on training her. Additionally, I have experience with senior pets. I lovingly cared for my late childhood dog, Sisi, which included managing her daily medications. I have also administered short-term medications to cats. I specialize exclusively in house sitting at your home, drop-in visits, and neighborhood dog walks. I look forward to giving your pets the absolute best care! :) My schedule is very flexible this summer, which makes it easy to stick to whatever daily routine your pets are used to. Whether they need a mid-day drop-in visit, a walk, or someone to stay overnight to keep them company, I can easily accommodate their regular timing. Since I will be caring for your pets in your home, my main priority is keeping their environment safe and consistent. I am highly attentive to details like securing doors and gates, keeping dogs properly leashed during walks, and following your specific household instructions. I always send regular photo updates and check-ins so you have full peace of mind while you are away.

Mae came over to feed, walk and love Joey while I was away and my husband had to work. Joey doesn’t like being left for long periods of time and is always ridiculously excited and well cared for when Mae comes over. Mae goes above and beyond everytime she’s with Joey. She’s an excellent communicator and sends smiling pictures of Joey during her visits. I recommend Mae 200% to care for your furry pets!

About: Dog owners and their dogs love the care I provide because I go above and beyond to take care of their animals! About: Hello, We are a 36 year old, married couple and owner to Two amazing doggie-daughters: Bailey and Presley Rose. Kathy has worked as a Nanny/ Babysitter for the past 18 years with families that have pets and would care and take care of them on a daily basis. Ed a diesel mechanic by trade. Someone is always home to care for your pups needs. As for our home we have one Shiba inu/ mixes and one pure breed black lab .Our oldest doggie daughter Bailey( Shiba/ Husky) we got from a rescue- She was taken from a hoarders home and has been through a lot in the past couple years. We first got her and her front leg was broken and we healed her back to health. She was fully adopted 8 years ago and she couldn't be the most sweetest dog ever!!!! We are glad to have her energy in the house!!!! In November of 2016 we were blessed with winning a PUPPY!!! We now have our newest addition to the family Presley Rose ( pure breed Black lab ) pup. she is our calm old lady young pup. She is a great addition since Ed has grown up with Lab's his entire life. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
