“Sam is absolutely amazing!!! She went above and beyond caring for our little guy. We highly recommend booking her services. We’ve already booked for our next trip and I’m definitely not worried about my pet being home alone with Sam completing her daily visits with him. Thank you for everything.”

“Guadalupe did a great job taking care of our cats and dogs for drop-ins. She even cleaned up some unexpected messes. We got updates every time she dropped by with all bathroom and feeding breaks, and most importantly pictures! :)”

About: I've lived with cats for most of my life, and I have experience sitting for both senior dogs and puppies! I'm comfortable around dogs of any size and can handle most medications and messes, provided some instruction. In case it's relevant, I also have some limited experience with a variety of other animals, ranging from birds and mice to horses and rabbits! I'm currently waiting for the growing season to start up again (I'm an environmental technician), so I have plenty of free time during the week to spend helping out with pet care. I have a rather skittish kitty of my own, so I can't board any animals, but I'm happy to come visit others. So long as the information is provided, I'm happy to help feed, play with, clean up after, and help give medications to your furry family members as needed.
“Brittany was great with my two cats while my family and I were gone for a week. She was communicative and respectful of our property. This is the third time we’ve booked with Brittany and would definitely book with her again!”

“Chipper and Emmie absolutely loves it when Rebecca comes over each week to let them stretch their legs and play for a bit! Rebecca communicates every day when she visits and it really helps my peace of mind knowing these 2 are in good hands while I am at work!”

“Our babies love Gage! Especially Finnegan. Gage took wonderful care of them while we were gone. He was attentive and friendly, making them comfortable around him. He was very respectful of our home. Sent plenty of pics for momma! We highly recommend him and will be using him again.”

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs almost my whole life! My personal pet care background is incredibly diverse. I currently manage a lively three-cat household with my sweet cuddle bug Lillie, and my sister’s rambunctious and silly littermate brothers, Scout and Sawyer. I am also the proud owner of a childhood calico named Luna, and a Shepherd/golden mix, Osa. Because Osa is a high-energy, reactive dog, I learned a lot from her and personally worked on training her. Additionally, I have experience with senior pets. I lovingly cared for my late childhood dog, Sisi, which included managing her daily medications. I have also administered short-term medications to cats. I specialize exclusively in house sitting at your home, drop-in visits, and neighborhood dog walks. I look forward to giving your pets the absolute best care! :) My schedule is very flexible this summer, which makes it easy to stick to whatever daily routine your pets are used to. Whether they need a mid-day drop-in visit, a walk, or someone to stay overnight to keep them company, I can easily accommodate their regular timing. Since I will be caring for your pets in your home, my main priority is keeping their environment safe and consistent. I am highly attentive to details like securing doors and gates, keeping dogs properly leashed during walks, and following your specific household instructions. I always send regular photo updates and check-ins so you have full peace of mind while you are away.
“Gwen is wonderful! She is very thorough, attentive and kind with my two shepherds. She communicates and is very reliable with bookings, which is much appreciated. I was initially nervous finding someone for drop-in visits, but I found the right person.”

“Faith is fantastic. She is so attentive to detail and truly cares for animals. I am so grateful for her help this week on a last minute request. She is a life saver. Highly recommend!”

“Patient and has a good vibe all around. Happy we went with her! We feel comfortable having her with our dog. He can be a lot but she doesn’t seem shy or uncomfortable being around him.”

“Thank you so much Christopher. I can totally picture the excitement they must of had when they saw you. They're good boys with a lot of love and energy. I'm glad they could share some with you. They'll be happy to see you again in the future. Have a great weekend.”

“Absolutely phenomenal pet sitter. Danielle was fantastic with both cats and very communicative. I would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone out there!”
“Loved the updates and the pictures. So relieved they did well. Happy with the drop in visit this afternoon. Looking forward to future visits after using Rover. Thank you Barbara!”

“Teri went over and above in so many ways! Her top priority is your pet and their comfort, which meant the world to me! We had to leave out of town and my dog wouldn’t have been comfortable in a kennel. I can’t say enough positive things about Teri! I’m very grateful for her attentiveness and the love and patience given to my older dog. Thanks Rover and Extremely grateful to you Teri! 🥰”

“This was the second time that Swagata took care of Jojo. She's truly amazing with Cats!! She came for drop-in visit, she followed all the instructions and also spent some playtime with Jojo... I was so glad that she did... I will 100% recommend her if you're looking for a caring pet sitter...”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs the professionally the past 2 years and I’ve lived with pets my whole life. Nothing makes me happier than animals living their best lives. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays which makes my schedule very easy to fit in a weekend boarding and walks through the day! I live in an apartment that welcomes all pets. We have a fenced in backyard so they can safely go out whenever they want. I can’t wait to spoil them!
“Ashley has done a great job watching our two dogs, Olive and Penny. Their personalities are very different--Olive loves to play and goof around, while Penny is very shy and barky and requires a lot of patience. Ashley is very knowledgeable and excellent at understanding and providing the type of attention that is best for each of them. We can tell from the pictures that Ashely sends, that Penny is now much more at ease. We really appreciate Ashley's efforts in earning Penny's trust and helping with her socialization by providing such a pleasant experience with someone from outside the household.”

“Julie is just simply the best. My cats just love her!!! 10/10 I would recommend her services to anyone who asks!!!!! She is super flexible and attentive to our babies. We never have to worry about them being bored when she’s around. Thank you for everything Julie!! :)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gages Lake
This was our first time having someone complete drop-in visits to check on my cat as previously we had left the cat at another person's house. Sam was able to visit our home to meet our pet, and we left some instructions for her before we left. We had booked her for every other day; however, our cat became anxious and she offered to check on him. We booked her for extra days, she checked in/out upon visit and provided updates and pictures of our cat. Would definitely be using her services again when needed.

Sara was amazing with our two cats. One of them is very shy, and she completely won him over. Our boys were well-loved and taken care of while we were away. We got lots of photos of them to enjoy! Upon our return they are happy and healthy. I can tell they had good company and lots of love. We look forward to working with Sara again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gages Lake. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
