âSheryl is amazing!!! We have a 90 lb lab, and she handled him beautifully! Browser had such an instant positive reaction to Sheryl that we knew she was the right person. Sheryl came same day with almost no notice - I had just gotten out of the hospital and needed someone to walk Browser. She is used to handling large dogs and it showed. Great communication skills, very personable. We will definitely continue to use Sheryl - what a great find!!â

About: Hi, Iâm Christine! Iâve been a devoted pet parent for over 30 years, and my love for animals is truly at the heart of everything I do. From playful pups to curious cats and every animal in between, I believe each furry (or feathery!) friend deserves love, care, and a whole lot of fun. I currently have an 8 year old Plott Hound who is recovering from her second TPLO surgery. I spend devoted time with her every day completing her physical therapy exercises and doing all I can to optimize her recovery and golden years ahead. She has been a major part of my life and we have had lots of adventures together! She has road-tripped with me to 21 different states and lived for 6 years in the high desert mountains of AZ. I pride myself on being patient, flexible, and truly attentive to every animalâs individual needs. Whether itâs a leisurely stroll or a playful adventure, I canât wait to be a part of your petâs journey! I am a certified wellness instructor and make my own client schedule- so- I have lots of flexibility and can work with most clientâs individual needs. I am flexible and adaptive to each individual petâs needs and environment. I love walking and am happy to give extra time to take in the sniffs- or enjoy a snuggle!

About: I grew up with cats and dogs since birth and lived in a neighborhood where nearly every family had dogs and they would all play together. Iâm familiar with many kinds of dogs and love playing with and walking them. I recently moved to the area and I am looking for jobs in the pharmaceutical industry, I am very flexible currently and have a car. I will follow care instructions from the owners and take suggestions on walking paths their dog likes, otherwise I love exploring new areas to walk.
âShannon was extremely reliable and great with our dog. We had no issues and she was really pleasant to work with. We will definitely be hiring her again whenever we need help watching/walking our dog!â

About: Iâve been taking care of pets (dogs and cats) since I was in middle school. Iâve volunteered at animal shelters and helped puppy-sit dogs through the Canine Companions collegiate chapter at my university! I am also comfortable with any size pet, Iâve cared for puppies and kittens all the way up to Great Danes! Iâm currently a student, but I have a lot of availability. My class load is light and Iâm not on campus much so I have very flexible availability! I am good at following whatever instructions left for me relating to any of the petsâ needs. I have taken care of animals before for other as well as my own pets so Iâll make sure theyâre treated well and get lots of love and care!
âMatthew was on time , polite and very friendly with my dog. He had the right questions to ask about where to walk in the neighborhood, area of disposal, can we interact with other dogs, does he like kids etc He even took my dog for a run , trained him a bit , helped let out some energy. All in all he was great, definitely recommend himâ

About: I've had my own dog since he was six, and now he's 14. From his puppy-like stage to being almost 90 in human years, I've taken care of him in all types of physicality. He was my first dog, but I took care of my friends' and neighbors' dogs since around 6th grade. I've taught him everything from shaking my hand, to weaving through my legs. My current job requires me to come in on an as-needed basis, typically on weekends, but only from 9-3. I have all the time in the world! My yard is not fenced, but we do have a long leash/rope that we keep our dog on when outside (he runs through invisible dog fences). My dog doesn't eat shoes and won't go on furniture unless allowed, so at night he just sleeps in a dog bed. I have worked with crate-trained dogs and always do my best to maintain the pet's daily lifestyle.

About: What sets me apart is my patience, reliability, and genuine love for dogs. I understand that every pet has unique needs, so I adapt my care to their personality and routine. Whether itâs an energetic puppy needing extra playtime, a senior dog requiring gentle attention, or a shy pet that needs patience to build trust, Iâm committed to providing safe, compassionate, and dependable care. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, happy, and loved while giving owners complete peace of mind. I work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so Iâm available for morning walks before work, evening visits, and overnight pet care during the week. Iâm also available most weekends, which allows me to spend extra time with pets for walks, drop-in visits, or extended care. I always make sure each pet gets the attention, exercise, and care they need. I always follow the ownerâs instructions carefully to ensure each pet stays comfortable and maintains their normal routine. I respect feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications (if required), and any special care instructions. Whether Iâm caring for a pet in my home or in the ownerâs home, I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment while giving each pet the time, attention, and affection they deserve. My priority is making every pet feel secure, happy, and well cared for.
About: Iâve taken care of dogs since I was 8 including my hound and lab for the last 9 years. Iâve cared for dogs of all ages and use dog walks as exercise. Iâm flexible, patient and detail-oriented. Iâm attending graduate school in the fall and spring with lots of availability in the summer. During the school year, my schedule varies but most of my evenings are free. I will go over any specific instructions with you prior to walks or pet sitting. I am happy to discuss any concerns or special needs!
âGreat experience for my puppy learning to be left alone during the day! Faith kept our training habits going and was even conscientious about checking her water before leaving. So grateful to have someone helping our little family out!â

About: What sets me apart is my background as a Physician Assistant student, which means Iâm calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and used to caring for others with real responsibility. Iâm especially comfortable with senior pets, medication administration, and pets who need a little extra patience or monitoring. I pay close attention to routines, behavior changes, and safetyâwhether thatâs following feeding instructions to the letter, noticing when something feels âoff,â or making sure your pet is comfortable and stress-free while youâre away. I also have experience with gentle puppy care, reinforcing routines, and providing consistent structure without harsh training methods. Bottom line: I donât just âwatchâ pets, I care for them thoughtfully and intentionally, the same way Iâm trained to care for patients. Your petâs well-being always comes first. Weekly Routine: Iâm most available Friday through Sunday, which allows for longer visits, flexible scheduling, and unrushed care. I plan my days in advance so walks, feedings, and check-ins happen consistently. Daily Care: I build pet care into my routine, not around itâno last-minute rushing. I follow established schedules closely and ensure each visit receives my full attention. Communication: Iâm responsive and proactive with updates, photos, and check-ins so you always know how things are going. In short: structured care, flexible weekends, and pets that stay on their routine. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment. In a clientâs home, I closely follow routines, secure doors and leashes, and respect the space. Iâm attentive, careful, and proactive with communication.

About: I had 2 dogs growing up, and helped my parents take care of them. My parents were busy most days, so I was the one who would take them for walks. My dog recently got his teeth removed, so I also learned how to take care of him and how to feed him properly with that in mind. Iâve also had to take care of both dogs when my parents are out of town, taking them outside, administering medication, and feeding and providing water for them. I have done the same for my grandparents. I love animals a lot, and I volunteered at animal shelters in high school and can properly care for and clean up after many pets.. Iâm currently taking all of my classes online, so I will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I can be available at any needed times, both weekdays and weekends. I will provide food and water according to instructions. I will keep a clean, safe, and loving environment, and ensure that they get time to play and exercise regularly. Iâm great at following instructions, and I am very attentive to any special requests that are given by the owner.

Danielle is truly the best. She always takes tons of pictures of my doggoâs adventures and even goes out of her way to wipe him down (since he likes to roll around in dirt). She is a gem and Iâm very fortunate to have her as Cocoâs sitter. She is wonderful person and my doggo loves her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
