“Cindy and her family took wonderful care of our Archie! She provided updates and pics of Archie during his stay and always communicated with me from the meet & greet to drop off & pickups! They are totally trustworthy and we hope to use Cindy again as our regular Petsitter!”
About: Growing up, my mother would buy and sell dogs. It was quite traumatic. I vowed to be better than her. I've had my dog Odin for 8 years, and I will happily care for your pet as well. Fortunately, my trauma is your gain. I'm well versed on most dog breeds and I know how to research breeds if something comes up. You can sit back and relax because my care for your dog will be the best. My commute is only 15mins away. So I take care of the dogs in the morning, then I care for them again on my lunch break. Then again after work and throughout the night with my own dog, Odin. I have several dog beds and comfy spaces for them to rest. I have a zone in my home that is for dogs only. They can grab a toy from the toy box or they can look out the balcony window as shades are always open for your pupper!

“Yaqi was amazing! She took great care of my dog and kept me updated throughout the stay. I felt very comfortable knowing my dog was in such good hands. Everything went smoothly, and my dog came back happy and well cared for. I truly appreciate her attention and kindness. Highly recommend!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and love them so much! I have experience with puppies as well as our senior friends. Walks and playtime are my specialty! I work at home and am able to take great care of your pup. I have a yard and am close to a park for plenty of outside time. I can adjust to the routine your dog is used to. I am very flexible. I take one client at a time so my whole focus will be on your dog. Just let me know your needs.

“She took such good care of my puppy over night and sent me so many pictures and videos! Stella came back so happy and tired out from all the fun stuff they did!”
“First time using Rover! Yessica was awesome ! We have a Covid 4yr Multipoo who is very needy. She was amazing from the day we met her and her beautiful sights who were going to care for Wesley while we were on vacation. Yessica sent us pictures and videos through our trip. We knew he was in great hands! Highly recommend Yessica and fam. Will definitely be rebooking.”

“We really appreciated Christina's professional and accommodating nature. Also I am no expert eventhough we have a dog. Christina seemed to be very in control and much needed with our little spoiled baby. Our diya's pictures looked as if she was quite happy and adjusted in Christina's home and I would strongly recommend Christina as well as would be happy to utilize her if we are traveling next time around. Thank you Christina for being really good with our Diya.”

“Kaylee is the absolute best!! She cares for our puppy weekly but had him for a very long weekend and provided some many great updates and even when our guy was anxious - she was so attentive!!! The best of the best.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life. Watching family and friends dogs gives me great joy! Dogs have been a part of my whole life. I love them dearly, my sister in law travels quite often which gives me the opportunity to watch her two dogs. One is a puppy full of energy and they are so fun to spend time with and play. Love going on walks to the forest preserves out in nature. let me be your dogs new friend. I work four days a week Tuesday thru Friday until 3:30pm. I'm available for boarding Friday nights thru Monday. I can take dogs for walks on Mondays, Weekends, and Tuesday-Friday after 4. I have a big home plenty of space to run around and play. My backyard is good size and fenced in. I can update you with photos of your dog. I can maintain the feeding schedule as required. I will make sure your dog has plenty outdoor time walks or just playing in my yard.

About: I've had cats and dogs since childhood, so I have a life-long experience with dogs of different sizes and breads, German shepherd, Husky, Chihuahua, at this moment I have a wonderful maltipoo kind of bread. I’m currently not employed and can take care of our small friends full time. Usually waking up at 7:30 and going to bad at 10:30 if the schedule for walking different I can fit it into mine and make adjustments. I live in apartments on 1-st floor, but don't have a fenced yard. Right by my building locates a good walking zone for dogs, the area is treated for ticks.
“I was very anxious about leaving my girls while I was on vacation. But Thomas and Kelly took great care of them and sent lots of pictures to ease my mind. I was able to enjoy my vacation much more since I knew my girls were in good hands.”

About: Thanks for checking out my profile. I've been caring for cats and dogs my whole life; 17 animals over the years. I currently have 2 well socialized doggies and 1 adult cat. I am also fostering 2 kittens. I love my little snuggle buttons and am constantly training, playing, petting, and caring for my animals. I would love my animals to be well socialized with many animals so thought Rover would be a great option for that. Also, I'm 10 weeks pregnant so I'm looking for things I love to do that I can do out of my home and I am biologically wired to provide snuggles right now! I work a 3-5 hour shift at my med spa, 3 to 5 days per week. I generally wake around 8, do breakfast for everyone, work from home for an hour, take the doggies for a walk, do kitten playtime, leave for work between 12-3, get everyone snack/treats, doggies get a second walk around 4:30, then I am home for the rest of the evening. I do dinner for myself and the animals, playtime, and then last chance for snacks. The animals sleep in my room with me, we love to snuggle! I love that the animals have each other to interact with even while I'm at work. We do not use any crates. I provide 4 bowls of double purified water so there is no risk of anyone going thirsty. I am a nurse so more than capable of following any feeding or medication regimens you may need. I am very big on socializing my animals. I encourage them to be vocal and friendly. My cat Jon Snow has over 50 distinctive vocalizations. To keep myself fit I do two dog walks per day, about an hour and 20 min total at a leisurely pace. I am steps away from Doug Lindberg park so we walk past ducks, otters, herons, and lots of other doggies (although I keep my distance since I don't know vaccine history or temperament). I have a 6 ft fenced in yard and let the dogs out frequently when it's sunny.
“I am so happy that we found Erena! Her love of animals and constant stream of written updates and photos made us feel our pup was taken care of all weekend. Cooper had a wonderful time, made new friends and will be back with Lorena again!”

“We had a great experience with Meghan! Freddy was happy, well cared for, and clearly received lots of attention while we were away. Communication was excellent throughout the stay, and we really appreciated the updates and photos. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands and would happily book again.”

“My sweet girls always love going to D'artagnan's! They get less anxiety the more they go there. Nike is a great companion for them as always and they had fun. This time another older pup was being boarded and they became buddies.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Long Grove
This was the first time my 10yo dog, Finley, did not have someone stay with him in his own home. Kyle had been recommended to me by a friend’s daughter. We did a meet and greet prior to my leaving, and tho it went well, I was quite anxious about leaving Finn. Fortunately, all my fears were unfounded; each day I received a photo and/or a brief update. Finn was completely fine and quite nonchalant about my return. Kyle gave him his meds, more walks than I do, and I don’t think he was alone once! I feel great about having a resource in Kyle and his family for future trips!

Logan was an amazing pet sitter. She took care of our three cats for three days and two nights. Logan is very patient and nurturing with pets. She gave us daily updates and sent adorable pictures. She’s very responsible and is amazing with animals. We’d highly recommend her as a pet sitter.

We had a wonderful experience with Balaji. We needed a sitter for our two week international trip and were nervous because this was our one-year-old toy poodle's first time being away from us. From the very beginning, Balaji reassured us that our dog would be well cared for. He even offered a short trial stay at his home so our dog could become familiar with the environment before the boarding stay. During that two hour trial stay, Balaji sent us photos and videos, which gave us confidence that our dog was comfortable and in good hands. Throughout the two week boarding period, Balaji sent multiple photos and videos every day, allowing us to see that our dog was comfortable and receiving good care. He was also very responsive and replied to our messages very quickly. Knowing that our dog was in such caring hands made it much easier for us to enjoy our trip. We highly recommend Balaji to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

We couldn't have been happier with the care our two Shih Tzus received during their 9-day stay. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands. One thing we especially appreciated was the regular updates. Yuliia sent adorable photos and videos almost every day, along with the sweetest comments about what the dogs were doing and how they were settling in. It meant so much to us while we were away and really helped us feel connected to them. It's clear that she genuinely loves dogs and treats them like family. Our pups were happy, well cared for, and clearly comfortable with her. We would absolutely trust her with them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative sitter.

Jessie and Jeeps (her dog) were fantastic! She was accommodating with our dogs routine and walked him many times each day. She was extremely communicative and sent many pictures which made me as a dog mama feel so much more comfortable using rover for the first time. Highly recommend Jessie to watch your pups!

Stephanie is the ABSOLUTE BEST! My pup is high anxiety and didn't do well at those fancy pet resorts. Stephanie made sure he was well cared for while we were out of the country for 2 weeks. She asked that I write down his daily routine so she can closely stick to his schedule. She also sent daily updates and photos to ease my mind knowing how tough it was for me to be away for a long period. Knowing she is studying to be a veterinary assistant was icing on the cake. My pup definitely loved spending time with her and was attached to her warm and caring personality from the very beginning. I highly recommend booking her for all of your pet sitting needs. I will definitely book her again!

This was Theodore’s first time staying with someone new, and Debi made it an excellent experience. She was caring, attentive, and kept us updated with photos and messages. Theodore came back happy and relaxed - clearly well cared for. We’ll definitely book with Debi again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
