“Claudia has been an absolute lifesaver this past month. She’s easy to coordinate with, incredibly responsible, and her visit summaries are thoughtful and detailed. Reading her drop-in reports is always a highlight of my day. Thank you, Claudia, for taking such great care of our dog!”

“Kati did an excellent job with our Labrador retriever!! She is very responsible and communicated with us at every visit!! My dog adores her. I will definitely hire her again.”

“Katerina did a great job stopping in to see our DJ every day while we were out of town and providing pictures and videos that were greatly appreciated. Her flexibility was also fantastic as we decided to extend our time away by about another week. During the whole time, Katerina took care of our cat and our house and we greatly appreciated that she could help us out. We will definitely use Katerina again!!”

“Leora always does such a wonderful job with our cats! This is our second long vacation during which she took amazing care of our cats. Even our extremely timid son must have felt so comfortable that he came out of his hiding place only the second day and asked Leora for pets/cuddles. I miss my cats dearly when I’m away, but Leora always sends helpful updates (and great photos of them) that put me at ease.”

“This is the second time that Brianna has taken care of my OD. I am very comfortable knowing she will take great care of him when I’m traveling Nice to have a doggy caregiver that I can trust and my OD can too.”

“Abby did a great job with our two cats! I really appreciated her quick responses to my texts and inquiries. She took care of everything that we asked - and she went beyond expectations by taking the initiative a few tasks that were not on the list! One of our cats is older with health issues and Abby was able to give Dierks his medication and special food. Abby updated us every day with a summary of the visit as well as amazing photos! Thanks so much Abby - we will see you again soon! Mary Lou, Dierks and Benny”

“Jason went above and beyond caring for our 4 pets! He ensured our dog's special diet and medication was given at the right time, and we are so grateful to trust that our pets were in good hands. Will be booking him again in the near future!”

“Natalia did an excellent job looking after my cat Shweta while I was gone on vacation for Labor day weekend! Shweta became quite acclimated with Natalia and I look forward to booking her again for Shweta in the future! Highly recommend!”

“We have never left our dogs with someone before/had someone come over to do drop ins for our dogs, so I was hesitant on trusting a stranger. But at the meet and greet, I knew Sarah was going to be awesome! She was thorough with her questions, got a great understanding of the dogs, even asked questions I didn't think of! I felt our home and dogs were safe with her the entire weekend. She gained our trust instantly (which is not something that happens often)! The dogs loved her and had the best time with her!?”
“Teena did a great job taking care of my cats! They seemed very comfortable with her. Teena sent me a note with pictures of every visit, including any behaviors that were fun or needed a question answered. It’s good to know I can rely on her for future care!”

“Jenny is so great with our dog and our puppy! We have loved using her the last few weeks and will continue to use her for as long as possible! We look forward to her pictures and detailed updates every time. Thanks Jenny!”

“Tania was available super last minute for us and took great care of our dogs! She’s communicative, sends photos and videos, and takes time to play with our dogs. They love her and so do we!”

“Abigail is a great cat sitter. She made a point of visiting our apartment before she started looking after Dash, which put us at ease. She kept us updated on him with photos and observations. She even offered to stop by outside the scheduled time to refill his water. I recommend her!”

“Scott was absolutely fantastic checking in on our 2 cats. He was extremely patient and ensured the more anxious of our 2 cats was okay and eating / drinking while we were gone. Thank you Scott!”

“Gabrielle was a wonderful sitter for the week that I had her drop in on my 2 cats. My cats are 16 and 13 and are definitely in house cats. One is friendly and the other is skittish and shy. One needed meds. She visited them and gave daily feedback and sent pictures. She also administered the meds, fed them and cleaned the litter. She even watered my large plant. She exceeded my expectations. I will use her again and recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“Evelyn was such a pleasure to meet! My dogs (and even my cat!) quickly took to her. She was gracious enough to search around for any potty accidents when my new puppy escaped from her gated area. My dogs were worn out from all the playing they did. Thank you so much Evelyn!”

Abigail is a great cat sitter. She made a point of visiting our apartment before she started looking after Dash, which put us at ease. She kept us updated on him with photos and observations. She even offered to stop by outside the scheduled time to refill his water. I recommend her!

Jenny was wonderful! She took such great care of my two kitties while I was away, and when I came home, they both looked happy and well cared for. She was reliable, caring, and made me feel very comfortable knowing my cats were in good hands. I really appreciate everything she did and would definitely book her again. Highly recommend! ❤️

Jenny was so great with our babies while we were on vacation! Communication was always excellent. She answered all my questions before we booked, and she sent me pictures and feedback whenever she came over. We had a wonderful meet and greet, where she got to meet our cats. They are pretty shy and skittish around strangers, so they only came out a little while when Jenny was in our home, but they knew they were well taken care - food, water, and clean litter. It was our first time using Rover, and it was a great experience.

Paige went above and beyond. She cared for our cats with such attention, stayed flexible when plans shifted, and looked after the house as if it were her own. She even helped us with a few issues and small chores along the way. We’re grateful for her care and support.

Sandy always takes such wonderful care of my Cora as if she was her own kitty. While I never like leaving Cora behind when I travel for work, I know she’s in great care with Sandy. She’s trustworthy, kind, and an all-around lovely person. I also highly value the peace of mind knowing Sandy is an experienced vet tech if anything were to ever happen. She’s the best!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Grove. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
