About: I have grown up with animals, with my first dog being my 8th grade graduation present. From then on, we have always had at least two or more animals at home of any sort of mixture. I have cared for animals in various jobs, have watched family and friends pets for them, and have a little zoo of my own at home. I love dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, but seniors will always have a special place in my heart. There is nothing better than walking through the door and seeing your four legged friend wagging their tail, jumping in and giving kisses, or rubbing against you with excitement to see you. My schedule is built around full time pet sitting which is the core of my work. I also hold a part time job for steady income with fully adjustable hours allowing me to prioritize your pets care. Throughout the day, I keep detailed notes and send updates, photos, and messages to owners so they feel connected and reassured. Because pet care is my full‑time focus, I can be flexible with last‑minute requests, extended stays, or changes in routine. Overall, pet care isn’t something I fit into my routine — it is my routine. My schedule is built entirely around making sure each pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I am very respectful of my clients homes and their wishes. If they leave instructions or tell me certain things, I will follow as they say. Pet parents are the ones that know their babies the most and I value trust and honesty when working with someone.
“Claudia is great, takes the time to work with our new puppy, going above and beyond during her time with him. Very easy to communicate with and provides great updates each day!”

About: I have taken care of service dogs for 2 years in college now as part of the service dog club. I have taken care of puppies and old dogs so you’re in good hands. I’m working remote as a software engineer for a start up so I’m fully available for any time and any schedule that works for you. I live in a great suburb for tons of space for any sized dog to walk and play and tons of space inside as well.
“Anna was just wonderful! She came for drop-in visits and looked after my dog and cat while we were gone for 8 days. I looked forward to seeing the photos of my sweet dog on his walks and I couldn’t believe my extremely shy cat made appearances for photos, too! We were relaxed on our vacation knowing our pets were well looked after. Thank you so very much, Anna!”

“Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of my two cats. She made sure to follow through instructions and clarify some additional questions during my stay away as well. This helped me feel reassured.”

“Teena was a god send - giving me peace of mind that my fur babies were in good hands while I was in India. She sent lovely notes with pictures from each visit. They were in perfect health upon my return as if I'd never left! She played ball and gave them the attention they wanted - very happy with her services!!!”

“Katerina was great with our cat. She arrived every day on time and always sent a picture! She was even able to give Tony his transdermal medication which can be a real pain. I would certainly book her again.”

About: hello! my name is charlize i’m 22 i’ve grown up with animals my whole life and now i currently work at an animal hospital helping taking care of the dogs and cats that come in to see the vet. i’m very experienced with animals and taking care of animals and i love all different kinds of animals. i’ve worked at the animal hospital now for two and a half years and its been the most amazing two and a half years of my life. i am also going to school to practice becoming a veterinarian so i am really excited to meet all new furry friends for more experience. i am good with administering medication, i am good with dealing with aggressive dogs, i am good with any diabetic cat or dog with dosing insulin. you name it and i can do it!! i work part time hours at the animal hospital during the summer months and full time during fall and winter but i am extremely flexible, as i work on my terms and conditions. i am willing to fit last minute accommodation if it works with my personal schedule but i can also take time out of my day if needed to walk a dog etc. i unfortunately cannot have pets in my building but i am more than willing and able to go to anyone else’s beloved home to pet sit, or walk, or feed animals. i come in with a soft expression and wait for the animals to get used to me and my scent and then i wait for their approval to come further in their home/space. i am very careful to not touch them when they don’t want to be touched and i am always patient with animals especially if they’re new to my route.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Long Grove
Jen is awesome! This was our second time working with her. Our kitty was in good hands with her - happy, loved, well taken care of. Jen sends updates and photos after every visit and is proactively communicative. We’ll definitely book with her again in the future!

Paige went above and beyond. She cared for our cats with such attention, stayed flexible when plans shifted, and looked after the house as if it were her own. She even helped us with a few issues and small chores along the way. We’re grateful for her care and support.

Sandy always takes such wonderful care of my Cora as if she was her own kitty. While I never like leaving Cora behind when I travel for work, I know she’s in great care with Sandy. She’s trustworthy, kind, and an all-around lovely person. I also highly value the peace of mind knowing Sandy is an experienced vet tech if anything were to ever happen. She’s the best!

Kayla was great! We left our cats, Pumpkin and Shadow, in her care for four days while we were on vacation. Kalya's thorough updates during our trip convinced us that she took great care of the cats. Her photos were complete and fun to watch, and her descriptions of her visits suggested that the cats were nurtured and entertained while she visited. I would hire her again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Grove. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
