About: As an animal lover and recent graduate of UIUC with a major in Animal Sciences, I love to be surrounded by animals and have grown up with 2 family dogs throughout my childhood. During my undergrad years I trained to-be service dogs and led meetings with potential members to promote the Illini Service Dogs club. This past summer I was a behavioral intern at Chicago's Anti Cruelty animal shelter where I monitored cat and dog behavior and built skills in animal body language and training. This included applying FAS scales, Fear Free Shelter certified handling techniques, and daily enrichment plans. In high school I also volunteered at Heartland Animal Shelter and fostered a senior cat. I'm currently completely available and able to care for pets around the clock! I'm also flexible and able to work out a specific, more convenient schedule. I currently have a dog at home, and she is comfortable being in a crate. She has a tendency to bark when she first meets dogs but quickly calms down and is on the timid side. My family and I walk her 3 times daily around our neighborhood. I have also cared for other pets in my home and typically have them crated at night while also walking them during the day. I have not yet cared for a pet in a client's home but am comfortable adjusting to specific care preferences.

I love to go for walks around the neighborhood and could take your dog too. I believe a walked dog is a happy dog. I also get as much information about your pet so that I can try to be consistent with what they are used to at home. I accept dogs up to 23 lbs. About my yard My backyard has a chainlink fence and I am on a 1/2 acre lot. It is secure with lots of room to run and play. My patio door leads right to the backyard so that I can monitor your pet when outside. My experience administering medication I am comfortable with administering medication. I allow your pet full access to the whole house. This includes furniture if they are allowed. There is a security gate around the front door for extra protection. I like to walk your pets and play fetch too! I will treat your pet the way I would want someone to care for mine. Like one of the family. :) I am only working outside the house part-time in the afternoon a couple of days a week so I am home alot. I like to go for walks, weather permitting so I would bring your dog along if desired. I set aside play time and invite them to be in whatever room I am in. I have a sliding patio door in the kitchen on the main floor where I mostly hang out. I let pups out often in case they don't know how to tell me at first. I also set aside time for walks and playtime. I try to keep the same feeding schedule that your pet has at home when possible and that goes for treats as well. I always make sure there is plenty of water and comfortable places for them to lay around and even look out the window for their paw patrol duty. Oh and we all love cat naps!
