“Abby was awesome. She re-arranged her schedule to accommodate me - and on short notice . She was punctual and full of positive energy! Most of all, Abby clearly loves animals. I heartily recommend Abby for your pet sitting needs.”

“Lisa took fantastic care of my boy Frank! She sent me photo and video updates as well as cleaned up any food/litter spillage Frank created. She responded very quickly and I will definitely book her again!”

About: Hi! I’ve had pets my entire life from having cats to dogs to even ferrets and hamsters and turtles, I love all animals! I was given my first pet to take care of myself when I was 6 years old and even though she was just a small ferret I found the responsibility fun and fulfilling even at a young age. I lost my dog last year so being around dogs in anyway has been such a blessing and a privilege, I miss being around mine. Caring for animals gives me a purpose I work 35 hours a week but 2 times a week from home. Since I don’t start super early or end super late I find myself finding time in the mornings and evenings available as well as weekends. Since I have dealt with so many types of animals I understand that each and every fur baby has their own unique personality and it is my job to adjust and accompany to it all while fulfilling owners requests
“Sydney took the best care of our cat Cooper and I could tell when we got home that he was given lots of attention! She was super thorough with all of her notes about her visits and took lots of great pictures for us to see our little guy while we were gone. Thanks for taking such good care of him!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I would care for my neighbors animals when they were out of town. I’ve always loved dogs and have a 7 yr old Labradoodle, Max, that I rescued when he was a four month old puppy. He had escaped from his original owners and was missing for two days. When the police found him, he had been run over by a car. They couldn’t save his leg so he’s a tripod. He doesn’t even know he’s missing a leg. Max loves walks, water, and playing with his best doodle friend, Molly. I also have a lot of experience administering insulin shots for dogs. I would love to care for your fur babies the way I care for mine. I am semi retired and my time is very flexible. I’m available for daily walks or pet sitting. I’ll care for your fur baby exact same way I care for mine. My dog Max is living his best life with me. He receives lots of love, walks, snuggles, and playtime. I would give your dogs the same care and affection.
“Amazing!! Lauren watched our house for a week, picked up our mail, and fed and walked our dog everyday. She put away our groceries that were delivered to our home. We love Lauren!! We are so thankful for her flexibility and she eased our stress knowing our dog and home were taken care of while we were away. I hope you will choose her because she is amazing!!”
“Christina was great with Pepper! She was so sweet and caring, and when our original request changed to include giving some meds, she was more than happy to help. She was easy to work with, reliable, and I’ll gladly rebook with her in the future.”

About: I provide loving, reliable care tailored to your pets needs! With experience in house sitting, dog sitting, and caring for my own fur babies throughout the years, I understand the importance of trust and personalized care. Whether it’s energetic playtime, gentle senior care, or sticking to a routine, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. As a teacher, my summers and weekends are flexible, giving me plenty of time to provide attentive, loving care for your pup. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays, I’ll make sure your dog gets the care and attention they deserve! "I provide personalized, attentive care whether in my home or yours! In your home, I ensure your pet sticks to their routine, offering plenty of love, exercise, and companionship. I keep their space clean, follow feeding and medication schedules, and provide regular updates for your peace of mind. If caring for pets in my home, I create a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of playtime, cuddles, and enrichment to keep them happy and relaxed. No matter the setting, your pet’s well-being and happiness are my top priorities.
“Thanks again, Anna, for the fantastic care you provided to Henrik. It was especially great of you to get him some more baby food. He is doing pretty well; has good days and not so good days but on the not so good days, he will eat the baby food and it seems to help him regain his strength. He's enjoying his routine of meowing for breakfast and attention, then later in day looking for good nap spots and eating some of his cat food. He's approaching age 18.”
“Cathy started caring for our black lab, Wendy, last week. She responded so quickly to my messages and was able to do a meet and greet within days of my first message to her! Our dog loves Cathy and it’s been going really well when Cathy comes to let her out at lunchtime. I would definitely recommend Cathy to care for your pet! She has a lab of her own and a lot of experience.”

“Caroline always goes above and beyond! Even when they got injured the week of their stay, they managed to fulfill their duties to our pets and send pictures and updates. Thank you, Caroline!”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was young, starting with my neighbor's Old English Sheepdog. Today, I'm the go-to sitter my sister relies on to care for her little fluffball, whether it's for an evening away or extended vacations. I'm comfortable providing consistent, attentive care for every pet -- and following your every instruction to make sure your pet stays happy and healthy while you're away. I currently work a flexible, non-traditional schedule that includes fantasy illustration projects and teaching art classes. This gives me built-in gaps during the day that I'd love to fill with dog care, whether that means walks, playtime, or multi-day companionship. Your dog's routine and well-being are my top priorities. I make sure that your dog gets the best care possible and will follow all instructions to the letter: setting phone alarms to ensure potty breaks and meals happen right on time, monitoring treats so your dog is neither over- nor under-indulged, and sticking closely to established sleep schedules. I'm equally respectful of your home, taking care to leave it as clean and orderly (or better) than when I arrived.
About: I grew up with dogs my whole life. I have a 5 year old lab mix that is my obsession. My close friends rely on my to watch their dogs when they go out of town. I work fully remote from my home where I have plenty of time to give love and attention to dogs. I take my pup out a few times through the day. I live in a townhome with plenty of space for your dog to feel comfortable. I have plenty of toys to play with. There is a dog park in my complex and there is a walking trail right near my place if your dog prefers a longer walk.
“Nicole is a kind and lovely person. She was able to come early in the morning as requested. She was a thorough communicator and she even cleaned up a couple of messes! She was meeting my cats for the first time and tried hard to connect. I will definitely use her services again.”

About: Back in my hometown for the summer from traveling. Caring and walking dogs for friends and family has felt second nature. Every dog gets my full attention, whether we're out on a walk or keeping them comfortable and calm at home. I love to share digital updates so you're never left wondering, just missing them a little less. I always welcome a meet and greet before your first booking so your pet feels comfortable and you feel confident! My schedule is flexible throughout the day which means I can work around what works best for you and your pet. I typically have availability in the mornings, midday and evenings and always give advance notice if anything changes. I treat every home with the same respect I'd want shown to my own. Your pet stays in their familiar environment which means less stress and more comfort. I stay attentive, keep disruptions minimal and if anything ever seems off you'll hear from me right away.
“Leah was prompt with her check in and check out times and continually sent us pictures from each visit and an update as to what she did. On her initial visit to meet our 2 cats, one of our cats was a little moody that day and wasn't interested in meeting Leah. But by the second day Leah told us that that particular cat was her new "bestie". The cats were well cared for and everything was done that was noted to be done.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Northbrook
I’ve been using Amy for a month now to let my dogs out midday. Not only does she keep an eye out on odd behavior from any of them, she’s even picked up how much one of my dogs loves alone time and gives her that extra attention. It is much appreciated knowing my dogs are being cared for each on an individual basis!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Northbrook with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
