About: I have had a dog since I was 5, and have been caring for him since he was a puppy through to adulthood and elderly age. I've also housed and cared for three dogs at once for months at a time, all varying breeds and ages and sizes. Additionally, I worked in animal husbandry in a professional setting at my university. I’m currently working part-time, and have the most availability on weekdays! On Monday through Friday, I’m typically free from noon to nighttime. I love being outdoors whenever possible, and am more than happy to take your dog on long walks! I’m a very detailed person who always gets the job done, and your pet’s safety is my utmost priority. I can feed, play with, take outside, clean up accidents, or just keep your pet company for hours at a time.
“Thea was so meticulous and empathetic to my cat’s needs during my time away. She also provided adorable photos, videos and notes. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great catsitter or dogsitter!”

“Brianna is a wonderful sitter. She took such great care of our two cats. She went above and beyond not only with our cats, but also bringing in our mail and offering to come back if there was anything else we needed. We felt very comfortable having her in our home and will definitely be using her again. Thanks, Brianna!”
“Sandra was wonderful with my kitty, Cora, and even brought her extra special treats and new toys to play with. She was very trustworthy with the routine and access methods to my home. We would highly recommend Sandra and will definitely be using her again in the future!”

About: Hello! My name is Carlee, I’m 26, and I’m offering home visits and dog walking in Arlington Heights and it’s surrounding neighborhoods! I’ve had a passion for wildlife since childhood, and I’ve cared for all sorts of animals from hamsters to horses. I’ve been around dogs of all ages and sizes, but I have the strongest experience with adults/seniors and small dogs. My childhood dog was a mini dachshund who developed dementia and mobility issues in her old age; I was an adult by then and took much care of her. I often pet-sit or do home visits for my family and friends, but this will be my first time using a company like Rover to meet new people and animals! My years of experience reflect my pet-care experience in adulthood. Looking forward to getting to know you and your pets :) I have fairly open availability as I'm currently working part time. I do have a couple established dogs I walk weekly, but it shouldn't be hard to fit someone new into my schedule! I can stop by just to feed your pet and/or let them go potty, take them for a walk, play with and accompany them for a time, or do a combination of these. I can stay with your pet as long as necessary.
“Leora is great with our three cats. We received a lot of awesome pictures and regular updates during our recent trip. It was clear that our cats were happy and being well taken care of while we were gone!”

About: I’m your go-to when pet-care of all kinds is needed. I’m an animal lover at heart. I can accommodate special needs or medical needs with proper instruction, as well as dogs that require high levels of physical activity. I have cared for birds, fish, tortoises, cats, and dogs. I also have my own French Bulldog that is a mix of chill and playful and loves the company of other animals - cats and dogs alike. I work from home, so your dog can have as much attention as they need. Between my work schedule and the freedom and flexibility I have in my life right now, I am able to accommodate longer bookings, if and when needed. I am child-free and work from home, so your pet will lots of attention and affection. I work full time and am most active with my own dog in the morning before I start work around 9:30am and then, again, when I get done with work around 6pm. While working from home allows for plenty of excuses to get outside and opportunities for play breaks. Weekends are a balance of snuggling with my dog while bingeing on a good show and enjoying all the dog friendly outdoor spaces the area has to offer us. We can adjust our activity levels, as needed, in order to settle into a routine thats right for your pets. Dogs are always on leash with me on walks unless we’re at an off leash dog park, which would require your permission. I am a pets-are-family kind of gal, so your pets will be treated as such while they’re in my care. I live in a dog-friendly apartment complex with a fenced in courtyard that provides great opportunities for sniffs, playtime, and outdoor lounging. I know it’s hard to be away from your fur baby, and I’m happy to send plenty of photo pupdates if you’d like.
“Krissy is extremely responsive and has great communication. She has save us multiple times, watching our dogs very last minute when other sitters have had to cancel. She takes amazing care of our two pups and we’re grateful to work with her!”

About: I’ve been a lifelong animal lover and have years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages and personalities. After losing my own beloved senior dogs, I’m not quite ready to bring another dog into my life permanently, but I truly miss having animals around and would love the opportunity to care for yours as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic dogs who love walks and playtime to senior pets who simply want companionship, cuddles and a cozy place to nap. I’ve also cared for large dogs, including my 100-lb Boxer, so bigger pups don’t intimidate me! I understand how important it is to know that your pets are safe, loved and getting plenty of attention while you’re away. My goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible, with plenty of affection and updates for you along the way. I work full-time from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., but I have flexibility that works really well for pet sitting. I’m available to stay in your home during the workweek as long as you have reliable Wi-Fi, which allows me to work remotely and be there with your pets throughout the day. I’m also available for walks and drop-in visits after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and have more flexibility on weekends. I love having furry coworkers! I know how much trust it takes to leave both your pets and your home in someone else’s care. I will treat your home respectfully and your pets as if they were my own. I’m careful about doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions and medications, and I’ll follow your pet’s established routine as closely as possible. Their safety and comfort are always my priority, and I’m happy to send plenty of photos and updates so you can relax while you’re away!
“Charlotte took great care of my two cats while I was away. My cat who is really shy absolutely loved her! We got the cutest photos and written updates every day which made me feel so happy knowing they were in great hands. Charlotte is very kind and quick to respond! I definitely recommend!!”

About: 🐾 I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a young child, and it’s been a lifelong passion. Over the years, I’ve looked after pups of all sizes - from a tiny 8 lb mini dachshund to a brawny 100 lb pitbull mix. My experience includes everything from energetic puppies to slow-moving seniors, each with their own needs and personalities. I currently live with two spayed female dogs who are well-socialized and have peacefully cohabitated with several foster dogs since last year. I regularly volunteer with Border Tails Rescue, providing a safe, nurturing home for dogs in transition. Through fostering, I’ve gained deep experience with behavior observation, gentle training, and helping anxious or shy dogs feel secure. I’ve managed feeding routines, administered medications, and supported dogs through recovery and adjustment periods. I’m especially mindful of canine body language and group dynamics, and I only accept dogs who are friendly with others to maintain a safe, peaceful environment. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do... it’s something I truly love. I treat every pup with patience, respect, and the kind of attention I’d want for my own. 🐶 When dog sitting, I am home most of day so your pup will have lots of attention. On occasions I do leave the house, your pup will be crated or separated from my dogs in a segregated area for their safety. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I share my home with two friendly, playful dogs - Miley, a 50 lb pit mix, and a 75 lb American Bully. They are well-socialized and enjoy respectful canine company. My securely fenced yard provides space for supervised outdoor play, and my middle school children, who are also well-versed in watching and caring for dogs, help ensure everyone feels safe and supported. I only accept pups who are crate/house trained, non-reactive, and dog-friendly to maintain a positive, secure environment for all.
“Jen has been walking my dog twice a week since late February. Jen is dependable and treats my dog with care and compassion. Jen is also very flexible- she has jumped in for extra walks to support my changing schedule. She is quick to reply with updates. Thanks for all you do Jen!”

About: Ive taken care of dogs and cats over the years. Enjoy walking and being outside with them!(Dogs) I personally have been a cat mom and dog mom over the years. ;) I am available for overnights, evenings and weekends; with the most flexibility on the weekends. I work outside of the home during the day, so I’m not available for work from home daytime care. I’m able to provide care around my normal work hours 8am-5pm I prefer to keep Dogs in your home or on walks. I have a cat at home and he likes to be the 'only' child, all the time.
“Drew is fantastic! He truly cares about our dogs and treats them like his own. He is prompt, thorough, and very communicative. Our dogs are rescues, so their ability to warm up to strangers is limited. On Drew’s first day with them, they both went on walks with him, which is miraculous! I truly felt at ease during my entire vacation knowing that Drew was taking care of our girls. Overall, I would highly recommend Drew!!!”

Michelle took exceptional care of my two pitbulls during my three‑week trip. From the very first drop‑in, her professionalism, calm energy, and genuine love for animals were obvious. My dogs absolutely adored her — their body language, their excitement, and their relaxed behavior told me everything I needed to know. She followed every instruction perfectly, sent thoughtful updates, and treated my pups as if they were her own. Knowing they were in such capable and caring hands gave me real peace of mind while I was away.I’m truly grateful for Michelle’s kindness and reliability. She is a gem, and I would trust her with my dogs anytime!

Luciana was fantastic! She came by on short notice to get acquainted with my two cats and my home before I had to leave unexpectedly for an emergency trip. Throughout my time away, she kept me updated on how my pets were doing and regularly sent photos, which gave me great peace of mind. Overall, I’m extremely happy with her care and professionalism, and I highly recommend her services.

I honestly don’t know what I would do without Emily! I needed her last minute and she was available to care for my fur son. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
