“Karina was delightful to meet and she did a great job with our two dogs. She went the extra mile for us by doing it all on a short notice. We really appreciated her being available to lend a walking foot so we could go to Chicago for the day.”

“Cathy is an outstanding dog walker! Our rambunctios 2yo lab loved her daily walks, and Cathy even worked with our nervous Border Collie to build up her confidence. Cathy is absolutely reliable, and we highly recommend her!”

“Hannah was wonderful throughout this week of cold, snowy weather. Our dog has some special needs that Hannah worked through with real patience and kindness. We couldn’t be more pleased!”

About: I am a person that loves all animals. Some pet parents will leave a small list of the schedule I need to follow. Whenever I come to hang with the cuties I’m always snapping pics and sending them to the pet parents. Just so everyone knows they are in good hands. Whatever it is that y’all need me to do I make sure to get the job done. Sometimes when I babysit if the parents need me to let the dogs out and feed them then I do it. So cats/dogs will get fed and taken out, we will play ball and have a load of fun. I promise I don’t bite and am very easy to talk to. If anyone ever has any questions feel free to ask!

“Sarah has been to our house for a meet and greet and a walk with my two dogs. She has been great with communication prior to and following both appointments. She also had a wonderful way with my polar opposite personality dogs. She gave my people-timid boy the space he needed to feel comfortable and trusting while engaging yet supporting the appropriate boundaries I need to practice with my overly exuberant girl. I'm looking forward to Sarah spending more time at my house caring for my sweet best pals.”

About: Hi, I’m Karina! My fiancé and I moved to Wheeling last year and I wanted to get more involved in the local community while spending time with animals. I have 5+ years of hands-on experience working in an animal hospital, along with 15+ years of caring for my own pets. Working in an animal hospital gave me real experience handling different temperaments, reading behavior, and making sure animals feel safe even in unfamiliar situations. At home, I’ve cared for my own pets for years, so I understand how important routines, attention, and consistency are. When your pet is with me, you can expect: - Regular updates and photos - Care that follows your pet’s routine closely - A calm, patient, and attentive environment - Reliable and clear communication I take pride in being dependable and making sure both you and your pet feel comfortable every step of the way. I integrate pet care into my routine by managing my time responsibly. I have enough flexibility to give pets proper attention, playtime, and companionship without rushing or overbooking. I follow instructions closely, monitor behavior and comfort, and maintain clean, safe spaces at all times. I pay attention to routines, energy levels, and subtle changes that may signal stress or discomfort. I take care to respect each pet’s needs and the expectations of their owner, and I treat every home responsibly and professionally.
About: Since I was 11, my neighbors have trusted me to feed and walk their dogs + cats. I have handled very large dogs but also small dogs without struggle, with a wide range of ages from puppies to seniors. I have worked with multiple special needs animals and can administer any kind of medicine. I am a student so I have summer off right now, but start school august 25th. Most important holidays I will be gone out of town for. I am in a boating family, so most weekends we try to get out onto the lake during the summer!! Mostly only free during summer and Christmas break, I try to keep my calendar up to date but feel free to always reach out! I have a fenced in yard with enough space for your pups to run around and play. My neighborhood is a very safe and quiet area. I pay close attention to the pup and will follow your care directions exactly how you would like!
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and know how much love and responsibility they need. Back in middle school, I started my own dog walking business and cared for everything from big Bernese Mountain Dogs to little Shih Tzus. I’m patient, reliable, and love spending time with dogs—whether it’s going for a walk, playing fetch, or just giving them some extra attention. Right now I’m job hunting, so I’m free Monday through Thursday any time of the day. Once I do start working, I’ll still be available most evenings when needed! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting them at yours, I make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I follow their regular routines for feeding, walks, or playtime, and I give them plenty of attention and affection. I keep their space clean and comfortable—whether it’s making sure dogs get bathroom breaks or keeping litter boxes tidy for cats. I also send updates or photos so owners know their pets are doing well. Every pet gets the care they need based on their personality and routine, and I treat them like they’re my own!
About: Hi! I’m Angelina, and I’ve spent the past 8 years caring for cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. From energetic puppies to seniors who need a little extra care, I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique routine, background, and quirks. I have extensive experience with pets who have special health needs. I’m comfortable administering injections, pills, liquid medications, and topical treatments, and I always follow owner instructions carefully to keep your pet safe and comfortable. I’ve attended dog training classes with my own pups and have even taken clients’ dogs to training school, so I’m familiar with reinforcing cues, managing leash manners, and helping pups stay consistent with the skills you’re working on. Whether I’m providing walks, drop-ins, or in-home care, I’m committed to making your dog or cat feel secure and loved. I’ve cared for pets in their homes for both short weekends and long extended stays, and I bring plenty of experience and references from families throughout Lake and Cook County. One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is the bond that forms over time. I love sending photo updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy — and nothing makes me smile more than when a pet recognizes me and gets excited the next time I visit. I’d love to meet your furry family member and learn how I can support their routine. Feel free to reach out with any questions! Pet care already fits naturally into my daily life. I care for my two cats every day, so feeding schedules, playtime, and keeping up with routines are already part of my normal rhythm. I build my weekly schedule around client visits and walks, making sure I leave enough time for each pet to get the attention they need. Whether it’s morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening check-ins, I’m flexible and able to fit dog and cat care smoothly into my routine. I truly enjoy spending time with animals, so prioritizing their care feels like a natural and meaningful part of my day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is making them feel comfortable in their own environment. I follow their usual routine—feeding, walks or playtime, litter scooping, and any medications—so everything stays familiar and stress-free. I keep their space clean, offer plenty of gentle attention, and adjust to each pet’s personality and comfort level. I also send photo updates so owners can see their pets relaxed and happy at home.

“Lindsay has been invaluable walking my pup. She met her in advance, asked questions to best meet her needs, and showed up and provided updates of all of my dogs walks. I would highly recommend her to anyone and look forward to having her walk my dog again in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Prospect Heights
Thea was wonderful! She did a meet and greet with Marley before his walk, and he immediately took to her, which says a lot. She was early very punctual on time, incredibly sweet, and clearly has a genuine love for dogs. She sent adorable photos during their walk, which gave me peace of mind and made my day. Marley looked so happy and comfortable with her. I would absolutely recommend Thea to anyone looking for a caring, dog sitter and will definitely be booking with her again!

Abby is the best!!! My dog, Zeus gets so excited to see her. She clearly loves dogs, all dogs and treats them like you would treat your dog yourself. She is pleasant to speak with and always does a great job. I would highly recommend her to any dog owner that needs help with dog walking or dog sitting.

Tina was very easy to communicate with. She visited us twice before the scheduled services to meet and allow the dogs to get to know her. I have 2 dogs, one of which is very shy around new people. Tina was very patient with her and allowed her to get to know her. I would highly recommend Tina for her patience, her enthusiasm and how awesome she was with the dogs.

Stephen is an incredible dog sitter and walker! He is incredibly professional, caring and attentive. We loved getting photos of our dog after each visit - both action shots and close ups. We are grateful for Stephen's attention to detail, professionalism and care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
