About: Hi! I'm Livia, and animals have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. Over the years my husband and I have had our own four dogs, two bunnies, and two ducks (yes, really!), so "a little bit of everything" is genuinely our specialty. We don't have any pets of our own right now, which is actually one of the best things about your furry friend staying with us. Your pet gets the run of the house with no resident animals to negotiate with, which is a huge relief for shy, anxious, or reactive dogs/cats who just need room to decompress. And there's a LOT of room. Our entire downstairs is 2,000 square feet and completely open to our guests, with dog beds tucked into every room so they can pick their favorite spot. Outside is a full fenced-in acre yard: space to run, sniff, and roll around in the grass without ever needing a trip to the park. Best of all, at least one of us is home all day, every day. Your pet is never left alone and never crated (unless you'd prefer them to be crated). We're happy handling puppies still learning the rules, seniors who need a gentler pace, medications on a schedule, and nervous pets who need someone patient. And if anything ever were to come up, we're literally a two-minute drive from three different emergency vet clinics. We're looking forward to welcoming your pet! My husband and I both work from home, which is the whole reason we're able to do this so well. There's no window where the house is empty - someone is always here, in the same room (usually being used as a pillow by one of our guests!). That means your pet's routine gets to stay your pet's routine. Whatever their feeding schedule is, we'll keep it. Meds at 7am and 7pm? Done. A dog who needs a mid-afternoon nap in a quiet room, or one who wants to be outside every hour on the hour? Also fine. We're not working around a commute, so we can build the day around them instead of the other way around. You'll get a few photos and updates a day, so you can see exactly how they're settling in. And we always do a meet-and-greet before booking, so everyone (including your pet) knows who they're staying with before the first night. Our yard is a full fenced acre behind a 6-foot privacy fence, so there's serious room to run with no gaps to squeeze through. Inside, our whole downstairs (about 2,000 square feet) is open to our guests, with dog beds in every room so they can pick their preferred spot. Cats stay upstairs in their own quiet, private bedrooms with the doors closed, completely separate from any dogs. We don't have pets of our own, so nobody's defending their territory when your pet walks in. Every booking starts with a meet-and-greet, and if we're hosting more than one family at a time, new dogs meet slowly and on leash in the yard before they're ever loose together. If any pair isn't a match, they get separated. Someone is home 24/7, so your pet is never left alone. We're comfortable with medications, senior pets who need a gentler pace, and nervous ones who need time. And we're literally a two-minute drive from three emergency vet clinics if anything ever were to come up.

“Thao has kept my Golden Retriever, Sully, for two different stays when I have needed to board him when my husband and I travel. Once was for a 4 day stint and the other time was for a short weekend. She is very communicable via cell phone and responds to messages very quickly and responsibly. She has sent me updates of Sully with photos and videos and been very nice. It's been really great to be able to leave home and feel confident and trust that my dog is in good hands. She has even come to my home to pick him up before when I haven't had time to drop him off, and she's been very flexible and easy to work with. If you need to leave your pet with someone when you are vacationing, I would HIGHLY recommend her! About: Hi! I'm Livia, and I've been the person friends and neighbors call when their cats need looking after. My husband and I are home all day, every day, which turns out to be exactly what cats want from a sitter: clean litter boxes, meals on schedule, and someone around whenever they decide they're ready for company. Our home has 5 bedrooms upstairs, so every cat gets their own quiet room with the door closed, set up with their food, litter, and their own things from home. Dogs don't have access to the upstairs, so they're kept completely separate. I'm happy giving pills or liquid meds on a schedule, and I have real patience for the shy ones. If your cat wants to spend the first two days under the bed, that's fine. I'll keep the food fresh, the box clean, and the room calm, and let them come out when they're ready.

About: I owned a cat for 16 years and most recently a dog for almost 16! Not ready for another of my own just yet, but missing the cuddles and walks! As a teacher I am back to work this week so will only be available on the weekends for the time being. Will update my availability as holidays and school breaks approach. I have a fenced in side yard area that dogs can use throughout the day. I also have my own crate that a dog can sleep in, as well as my own litter box for cats to use.

About: I am a life-long animal lover that turned that love into a career after moving into my home with a fenced yard. I have experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I purchased my home with my dogs in mind as I've got a fenced yard and I wanted to make sure that they had plenty of room to run around. Your dog will be treated like family while they're staying with me. I have three dogs of my own that range in age from 2 to 12, so no matter what speed your dog likes to go we've got something for them. For anyone little who needs it I've got stairs to get up on furniture. My pup, Lego, LOVES to play and will welcome any playmates with open paws. We've got tons of toys and chews around the house and lots of beds and couches to lounge on if that's what they're into. Other than occasional errands I may need to run, I am home full-time with the dogs. Due to this, the dogs don't have a lot of opportunities to get bored…in fact I have many owners texting me after telling me how tired their dog was after staying here! I try to let the dogs be outside and play to their heart’s content (weather permitting, of course). I started Rover as something to do on the side to spend time with dogs, and it has grown to be a full time gig for me and I couldn’t be happier. Being around dogs is truly what brings me joy--it would be my pleasure to take care of your pup while you're away. WHAT KIND OF DOGS DO BEST HERE? My goal is to let the dogs interact and play as much as possible, so well socialized dogs do best at my house. If your dog prefers to be alone or has aggressive/anxiety-based behaviors, then I may not be the sitter for you. Please keep this in mind as you consider me as a potential dog sitter. I am not for every dog and we want to ensure your dog is comfortable in its environment. Please note that I do foster dogs for Chicago Rescue Authority. “We left our dog with Bob for 7 nights while on vacation and didn’t worry once. Bob sent daily videos and was very responsive and accommodating from the moment we booked him. A few days before our trip Bob worked with us to schedule a time to bring our dog by to meet him and for us to see his set up. Once we saw Bob interact with our dog and ty either dogs that were there we were confident that we made the right decision. I would highly recommend Bob to anyone and we will certainly book him again.”

“Sarah was absolutely amazing! She sent regular updates and even taught my puppy how to use the stairs. She has an awesome backyard and cozy home for pets to enjoy and lots of experience, she even has a vet background the moment she held my puppy she knew he had a hernia which I did not even know until a vet told me and I did not inform her she was smart enough to notice on her own.”

“This was the first time my 10yo dog, Finley, did not have someone stay with him in his own home. Kyle had been recommended to me by a friend’s daughter. We did a meet and greet prior to my leaving, and tho it went well, I was quite anxious about leaving Finn. Fortunately, all my fears were unfounded; each day I received a photo and/or a brief update. Finn was completely fine and quite nonchalant about my return. Kyle gave him his meds, more walks than I do, and I don’t think he was alone once! I feel great about having a resource in Kyle and his family for future trips!”
