Dog Sitting Harwood Heights

About: My husband and I have always been dog people. Growing up he had two labradors and I had a beagle. When we bought our house we adopted a senior lab. We spoiled him as much as we could and loved him unconditionally. After losing Ceasar two years ago, we walked into an animal shelter and that's where our baby, Uru-Kai, stole our hearts. I don't work on weekends, I have holidays off and the summer off. I already have a dog so I know how important it is to stick to a routine. Our current dog goes out on four walks a day. If he needs to go potty because he drank too much water we let him in the back yard. If he seems bored he rings the doorbell to be let in the backyard. When we need to leave the house our dog is put in his crate to ensure that he's safe and stays out of trouble while we're gone.

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats my entire life, and caring for animals has always been a large part of who I am. I currently have 4 dogs and 4 cats all of different breeds, sizes, and personalities therefore I am comfortable caring for pets with a variety of needs. I have experience giving medication, following feeding schedules, and making sure each pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I also enjoy spending time outside and going for walks. I’m currently a full time pre-nursing student and work PRN as a switchboard operator at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m able to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including drop in visits, walks, overnight stays, and some last-minute bookings whenever possible. My school schedule is subject to change and being PRN shifts could pop up here and there but I am very flexible and willing to work around what ever possibly comes up. In the aspect of my school schedule I have classes mon/tue/thur/fri. Monday and Friday 11am-12:30pm, Tuesday 9:30am-2:20pm and Thursday 8am-2:20pm. Safety and comfort are a priority to me. Each animal has their own personalities and day to day activities. I would like to know what your pet likes, whether it be extra playing time, going for walks, or even extra attention to make sure they feel the most comfortable at home. I am also comfortable crating a dog if it is needed.

About: I’ve been taking care of my own dog, a senior Shih Tzu/Poodle mix, for the past 15 years. I’ve also dog-sat for family and friends over the past 5 years, giving me experience with small, medium and large sized dogs. My own dog is a bit reactive, so I’m also familiar with caring for reactive dogs and being mindful of their individual needs. I usually let my boy Nacho out to play in the morning at 7am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, and 4pm, 6pm and 9:15pm. I usually keep the dogs with me in my area while I work. They have access water, food, beds and toys. I have a bunch of doggy beds and toys 🧸 all around the house. I also don’t mind the dogs sleeping in bed with me. I love to snuggle with the fur babies.

About: I’ve always loved and taken care of dogs, so I know what it takes to raise a puppy and giving it all the attention and learning how to train them properly to now taking care of my senior dog and making sure he gets all his proper medications and being able to tell from his behavior if something is wrong. About: I’ve taken care of my shitzu poodle for a little over 8 years! I love to go on long walks and have a lot of experience with taking care of my friends and families pets!! I am currently home for the summer before starting full time in September so my schedule is super flexible and I love spending time outdoors!! I sometimes pick up a couple serving shifts until 3pm Tues-Friday but free on weekends, all day Monday, and evenings throughout the week :)) I am super comfortable with dogs of different breeds and sizes, making sure I am very attentive to their needs. I love running as well as going on walks so flexible to whatever the dog prefers!

“I have two cats. One is a complete sweetie except he is now almost 17 and is on multiple medications. In discussion with the vet before my trip, the vet had "ideal" and "essential" medicine dispersal. In our meeting to go over things, it was clear she understood his medical issues, the various medicines and their priority and importance. Kimberly was diligent in administering the medicine most essential and getting at least one daily dose of the others, despite the cat hiding from her on several visits. (He is easy for me but I am told by prior sitters he fights the pills). What pleased me was that she kept him in good health without stressing him out to the point where he acted out like he did with previous sitter determined to administer pills. She knew how to balance stress and medicine. If you have a cat with health issues, I highly recommend Kimberly. Since my other cat is a high strung rescue who hides from everything, Kimberly did not interact with her directly but she reassured me of signs of eating, litter activity to show she hadn't escaped when she hadn't showed after 5 days. (that is very typical of this cat, even for longer visits so no reflection on Kimberly).”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family since age 8, having been trusted to feed, wash, and play with dogs- I know my way around a dog park or two. ;) I also have house sat for dog owners before as well, so I am always observant and able to make sure your pup feels right at home, and your home stays looking best in show! I currently have open availability, with tons of time to play with and entertain your pups! I am able to house sit as well, if given a minimum of 3 days in advance! While I cannot board fur babies at my house, I am more than able to monitor and play with your furry friends at your home (and on walks of course!), as well as follow any certain rules or procedures one may have for their best furry friend!

She even offered to do additional tasks like put our trash cans out and water our indoor plants. The power went out due to a bad storm while we were away so she even navigated that with our pup and flipped our breakers, etc! We had never had anyone outside family/friends watch our high-maintenance weenie dog, so we were apprehensive to engage a service like Rover, but we were very satisfied with our experience and have already recommended Kym to our family members with dogs!”
