I’m highly available for updates via cell phone or email so you never have to feel out of touch or worried. References available on request. Feel free to reach out. Glad to help out! I’m recently retired so I have maximum flexibility in my schedule. Last minute walks are welcome and flexible with last minute changes in your schedule. Able to manage large and small dogs. About: I have had a variety of pets and have cared for a variety of animals (dogs, cats, birds and a turtle). A variety of breeds and ages. I am available most weekdays after 4pm. I am available most Saturdays in the AM and PM. I also am available Sunday afternoons and evenings. I make sure my dog has plenty of food and fresh water throughout the day. I take her outside to go to the bathroom in the morning and right when I come home. I take her on a walk. I play and cuddle with her a lot.
“Paula was so great! She took great care of my cat and checked in on her while I was away on vacation. She was very attentive to detail and I knew Miss Kitty would be in great hands. I received daily pictures making sure she was fed and played with, and she also brought in some mail/packages. Looking forward to booking again!”

About: I have owned and loved dogs my entire life. I've had Labs (I currently have a Golden/Lab mix named Joey! He has ALL of the Golden retriever energy), Greyhounds (RIP sweet Gloria and Cougar!), Austrailian shepherds, and German shepherds as my own and/or family pets, and am very comfortable with high energy, big breeds. I love giving extra smart dogs some fun mental challenges to keep them occupied, and of course am happy to rub bellies for as long as the dog requests. I love the high energy and silly quirks of smaller dog breeds too! I've house sat and cared for animals off and on for over a decade, but have just recently reactivated my Rover profile and am looking to accept new clients. I work part time as a yoga instructor, and homeschool my kiddos. My schedule is VERY flexible, and I am often able to pick up day-of requests. I've a Type-A scheduler too though, so I love some advanced notice! I can't imagine my life without pets and feel strongly that a home just doesn't feel like a home without pets. I will treat your pets just like a family member, because that's exactly who they are! I love specific requests, and accomodating exactly what your pet is used to so they don't feel lonely or confused.

About: Hi, I'm Kit! As a long-time animal lover with two little cats of my own, I'm more than happy to watch your pet(s) while you're away. My rates are accurate! As I'm new to Rover, I'm hoping to start growing a referral base. I've been a volunteer at animal shelters since high school, and because of that, I understand that every dog and cat has a unique personality and routine. I've gained experience with feeding and play routines, socialization, and recognizing signs of stress or illness. Whether your pet is playful and social, or shy and independent, I'm ready to adapt to their needs. I’ll make sure your baby(s) get plenty of love, attention, and playtime, and update you with all the best of it so you can travel with peace of mind! I am employed full-time in the loop. Monday through Friday, I'll be in the office from 9-5, but my early mornings and evenings belong to your pet(s)! On weekends, I'll be happy to accommodate any time you'd like. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and stress-free environment for every pet in my care. Since every animal has different needs and routines, I take the time to carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and household rules. No one knows your baby(s) like you! For drop-in visits and overnight stays, I aim to keep pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while they’re away. During walks, your pet(s) safety is my top priority. I stay alert to the environment, avoid unsafe situations and interactions, and ensure your pet(s) are secure at all times. My goal is to treat every home respectfully and every pet like they’re my own!

“Yimei was GREAT. Highly recommend. She went above and beyond taking care of Lucy, my 15 year old very needy cat! Lucy was very well taken care of. Yimei also communicated promptly after every visit.”

“Andrew was wonderful. My two standard Poodles liked him right off the bat. He was communicative, punctual and always happy with a smile on his face even when it rained.”

“Adam was able to fit a last minute booking into his schedule! We are very happy with his responsiveness and his care of Gable! He is fantastic and Gable looks forward to more drop-ins w his new buddy!”

“Parisa is a godsend! Amazing communication and availability- makes it super easy to schedule. Our pup loves Parisa’s visits (sometime too much when she pees from excitement!). We have a lot of guilt leaving to go to work, but knowing Parisa’s coming gives us such peace of mind. Beyond that, Parisa is super patient with our often stubborn dog. We struck gold finding her.”

About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I was 15. I am loving and outgoing which makes dog walking and sitting great for you and your four-legged friends. Pets are our family and that’s exactly how I treat them; respect and love. I have administered medications and trained my own two dogs who are 11years old. Looking forward to meeting your dogs and taking care of them! My work schedule is very flexible. I am hybrid but I pick which days I go in and which days I’m home. My husband works from home so it makes pet sitting easier so your fur babies always have someone around. I will treat your pets like my own animals. I can take them to the dog park, play with them, feed them and provide them with lots of love.
“Taylor did a meet and greet before our booking. We enjoyed getting pics and updates on our dog's activites while we were away. She went the extra mile to bring in our mail. Would for sure rebook with Taylor!”

About: Having personally had Pitbulls and Catahoulas, and successfully help rescuing an abused, aggressive American Bully, i have a natural comfort level with powerful breeds and reactive dogs. "Spicy" behavior or hardcore barking doesn’t intimidate me. Over the years, I’ve learned to quickly pick up on body language and have gone through formal training courses with my own dogs, which taught me how to read and simmer down a stressed pup naturally. Something that I notice when walking my own dogs is that sometimes people don’t always have a sense of awareness of their surrounding relative to their dog’s behaviors and that can be frustrating to other dog owners. I’m someone that keeps my head on a swivel. I am highly aware of my surroundings and will intentionally alter routes to avoid triggers like other dogs, bikes, or crowds. This proactive situational awareness keeps your pup calm, safe, and stress free. Most importantly, I’ve never met a dog that I didn’t treat like my family. I am definitely guilty of giving one…or two…extra treats (unless you explicitly tell me not to, of course). I’m a “diet starts tomorrow” kind of guy. As long as I have notice, I should be pretty easy to schedule. I live in Lincolnwood, but have an office in Wrigleyville where I spend a vast majority of my day editing photography and video for my production company (YES! I do take photos of pets!) As long as I have some sort of notice, I’ll usually be able to get to a stopping point and get over to your house fairly quickly. Put simply, people who treat dogs like pets and not family weird me out a little lol. Dogs aren’t just pets, they’re a member of your family and they will be treated as such.
“Tiffany checked in on my cat, Tofu, while I was gone on a week long trip. She was very communicative and sent lots of cute pics. She brought an issue with our automatic feeder to our attention and went above and beyond to help us trouble shoot the issue. Tofu loved Tiffany and we will be booking her again in the future”

About: I've been around cats and dogs my entire life and have cared for pets for as long as I can remember. About 10 years ago, I worked as a professional dog walker, and I currently volunteer with Chicago Pet Rescue. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, from energetic and playful to shy or senior pets. I provide dependable, compassionate care and treat every animal as if they were my own. Whether it's feeding, walks, playtime, litter box care, or simply providing companionship, my goal is to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their families are away. I work part-time with a flexible daytime schedule and am available for drop-in visits throughout the week. As a planner and dependable communicator, I take pride in being on time and providing consistent care. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their families are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, and routines. I understand that every pet is unique and do my best to help them feel comfortable and secure. I provide updates and photos when appropriate so owners can feel confident that their pets are receiving attentive, loving care.

About: Hello. I've been a dog owner for 30 years and a dog lover forever! I would love to take the stress and worry away from you while you're away by you knowing that your dog is being loved, cared for, pampered, exercised and played with as if s/he was one of my own! My husband and I live in a split-level home in Skokie with a large fenced-in yard. We were privileged to be the owners of two adorable, sweet-natured and friendly female Beagles named Bria and Chloe. Bria was 14 when she passed in 1994, and Chloe recently passed in February of this year. She was almost 16. They were the best! Since I work out of my home, I'm typically there through-out the day, so you never have to worry about your dog being alone. I will always accommodate your dog's unique needs by following your instructions faithfully. I'll keep you updated with photos, texts and emails, if desired, so you'll never have to wonder "What's going on?" Your dog's comfort and your peace of mind are my top priorities. I'd like to develop a long-term service relationship with you and your dog and hope you'll consider me for any of your dog's boarding, walking, or home-visit needs. Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. I can't wait to meet you and your beloved pet! Thanks. Jane I have recently retired so that now I have the complete flexibility and freedom throughout the day to meet the needs and requirements of your dog. I have a very dog-friendly home. I have dog beds and water bowls on each floor of my split-level home, a large fenced-in yard and 30 years of having 2 beloved dogs of my own. Your dog will be in the best of hands!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Skokie
Shailyn was amazing! She exceeded expectations in every way. From the get go she made it a priority to get to know me and my cat Pepper, ensuring that I felt safe leaving Pepper in her care. She was very accommodating and understanding. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Yet another excellent experience with Ingrid! The A-Team are always delighted to see her, and she takes excellent care of them. She takes her time and gives each cat their preferred level of love (Artemis: a little space, please. Apollo: ALL THE LOVE. ALL OF IT.) We came home to relaxed and contented cats! Thank you again, Ingrid!

Mae was great with Legacy. She handled six drop-ins over three days, sent photo updates, and made it easy to feel comfortable while I was away. Legacy seemed calm and content when I got home, which is exactly what you hope for. I also really appreciated that Mae took the time to walk Legacy during her visits. Legacy is a big dog and can be a little more challenging because of her past trauma, but Mae handled her great I’d absolutely book Mae again and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely good with dogs.

Our 6 month old puppy cuddled up with Revan after only a few minutes and I was convinced she really is the dog whisperer. Our cat came out to see her too! It's very rare that our cat comes out when a new person is in the house. We are excited to have Revan housesit next month and know our babies will be in the best possible care.

The best pet sitter. Rosy literally just saved my cat’s life, when she noticed he was not his usual self, took him to the vet, where they identified he had a urinary blockage and likely just hours to live. How lucky for us that Rosy was caring for our animals and so observant. Thank you, forever. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

MELINA IS THE BEST! I was gone for two weeks and she made daily visits to my fur baby. Mind you my cat isn’t the friendliest but she made sure he was well fed and looked after. She was so patient and friendly and made the process so smooth. She sent me photos and updates daily that made me feel so relieved being out of town for so long. Definitely rebooking her each time and recommending her to everyone!!! You fur baby is safe with her! Thank you so much Melina!! 10/10

Absolutely recommend Rebeca! You can tell she really cares about dogs and loves what she does. My dog Snoopy has anxiety & is very shy at first but he felt at ease with her as soon as he met her during the meet and greet. She was so gentle, patient & sweet with him right away. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. I will def be booking with her again!

Tiffany checked in on my cat, Tofu, while I was gone on a week long trip. She was very communicative and sent lots of cute pics. She brought an issue with our automatic feeder to our attention and went above and beyond to help us trouble shoot the issue. Tofu loved Tiffany and we will be booking her again in the future

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
