“Kit was incredibly thoughtful and made sure to ask me questions about my pets’ needs that hadn’t even occurred to me to share. She sent lots of pictures and updates on my cats throughout my trip so I knew they were well taken care of. Could not recommend her more!!”

About: Available for walks and drop in visits. I offer competitive pricing and will give your pet the same attention you would. Your four legged friend will get the best possible care and love. Reliable, on time, mature and able to handle anything that might come up. I’ve raised both cats and dogs in a loving environment for many years. I’m highly available for updates via cell phone or email so you never have to feel out of touch or worried. References available on request. Feel free to reach out. Glad to help out! I’m recently retired so I have maximum flexibility in my schedule. Last minute walks are welcome and flexible with last minute changes in your schedule. Able to manage large and small dogs. I’ve gained additional insight as a volunteer at CARE Animal Shelter in Skokie. Comfortable working with crated dogs as well.
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, mostly chihuahuas and rescues, so I’m very comfortable with pups who need a little extra patience, reassurance, or understanding. My hands-on experience goes far beyond casual pet care. At Miami University, I was part of Paws for a Cause, where we helped train dogs to prepare them for working with children or future companion roles. This gave me a strong foundation in obedience training, reading body language, and supporting dogs with different temperaments. More recently, I’ve been volunteering with the Evanston Animal Shelter, working with dogs who have a wide range of behaviors and needs. There, I’ve assisted with medication administration, training sessions, enrichment, and helping nervous or high-energy dogs feel more comfortable and confident. I’m also on a path toward becoming a Physician Assistant, which adds to my calm, attentive, and health-focused approach. I’m comfortable managing routines, monitoring for changes, and making sure each dog feels safe and cared for. Overall, I bring a mix of lifelong experience, formal training exposure, shelter work, and genuine love for dogs of all personalities. Your pet will be treated with patience, structure, and plenty of affection. I work full-time as a medical scribe during the day (9–5), so evenings, weekends, and holidays are when I’m most available for pet care. During those times, I’m fully focused on your pet’s needs—whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company. My schedule outside of work is very flexible, so I can reliably fit in consistent visits or longer stays. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible—feeding schedules, walk times, crate routines, and any training cues you use. I take time to get to know your pet’s personality, comfort level, and boundaries so they feel safe and relaxed. I provide plenty of attention, enrichment, and calm companionship, and I always keep water fresh, watch for behavior changes, and send regular updates so you feel connected. If I’m hosting in my home (or doing extended stays), I make sure pets have a quiet, clean space to settle in, regular potty breaks, structured playtime, and a consistent routine. Safety is a top priority, doors secured, no access to anything unsafe, and lots of supervised time. Whether I’m in your home or mine, your pet gets patient, reliable care with the goal of making them feel comfortable, understood, and well-loved.
“Jordan was wonderful! Very communicative, prompt, and caring. Sent absolutely adorable pics of my cats, and I truly felt like my pets were in good hands. 10/10, would recommend! We will absolutely reach out next time we go out of town.”

“Paula was great caring for my cat. I was afraid my cat would hide but she didn’t at all; she felt comfortable and enjoyed Paula’s company during the time I wasn’t home.”

About: I’ve taken care of my neighbors pets and my own for about 11 years now! I have worked with all type of dogs. From those who need meds to those who just need to hang out! I’m very flexible! From July 20th to August 7th I’ll be working a day camp from 9-3 but I am an early riser! The rest of the summer, and the weekends, I am completely free and at your disposal! At home I walk my dog, feed him, administer meds if need be and play with him! I’ve done the same for the other pets I’ve babysat for!
“I cannot recommend Dimitri highly enough! He took amazing care of my cat, Tuna, while I was away for two weeks and truly went above and beyond in every way. He was incredibly attentive to Tuna’s needs and made sure she was comfortable, happy, and well cared for throughout my trip. He spent extra time with her when she needed company, made additional visits to open the window when the room got too warm, and was always thoughtful about her comfort and well-being. Dimitri was also excellent with communication. He kept me updated regularly, sent detailed messages, and gave me peace of mind knowing Tuna was in such good hands. He administered her medications reliably and on time, cleaned up accumulated pet hair, and kept her space tidy and comfortable. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about the pets he looks after. I came home to a happy, healthy cat, and I am so grateful for the care and attention he provided. I would absolutely trust him with Tuna again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and dedicated pet sitter.”

About: My names Gail! I am 26 years old and look to make some new furry friends. I have experience watching family dogs, friend’s dogs, and anyone who needs help. I have watched dogs in my home for as long as two weeks. I have gone to the clients house to watch the dog/cat or I pop in to make sure they are fed, go to the bathroom, and make sure they are walked and played with so they don’t feel lonely. I have my own way of transportation and super flexible in times. I can provide bowls and leashes if needed. I can give you updates as reassurance if necessary. I love being around dogs and cats! I love playing with them and making them feel at home (: I currently work about 5-6 days a week. I do choose my own schedule at the end of the week, so I am very flexible on time! I have my own car, so I am able to get around very easy. I am able to put puppers in or out of crates if needed! I am able to distribute any medications to pets. Making sure the pets feel safe and comfortable while their family is out of town!
“Brenda is amazing and leads with kindness and care for my cat! My cat is typically shy and reserved around new people but quickly warmed up to Brenda. Will be booking again for sure!”

About: I have had a variety of pets and have cared for a variety of animals (dogs, cats, birds and a turtle). A variety of breeds and ages. I am available most weekdays after 4pm. I am available most Saturdays in the AM and PM. I also am available Sunday afternoons and evenings. I make sure my dog has plenty of food and fresh water throughout the day. I take her outside to go to the bathroom in the morning and right when I come home. I take her on a walk. I play and cuddle with her a lot.
“Taylor did a meet and greet before our booking. We enjoyed getting pics and updates on our dog's activites while we were away. She went the extra mile to bring in our mail. Would for sure rebook with Taylor!”
“Thank you again Isabela for taking care of Ali. I know she was well taken care of on your visits. I always look forward to the pictures and knowing everything thing is fine. I have total peace of mind knowing Ali is in good care.”

“Rosy is such an exceptional cat sitter! She took care of our two cats for a week and was extremely responsive, kind, and considerate to our cats and our home. Every day she would craft such beautifully written rover cards about what the cats were up to with lots of pictures and videos. Our two cats take a bit to warm up to new people but they had a new friend by the end of her visits. Additionally, her experience with founding and running her own cat rescue is so amazing! Rosy is our #1 choice for cat sitting in the future-- we can't recommend Rosy enough!”

About: Hello. I've been a dog owner for 30 years and a dog lover forever! I would love to take the stress and worry away from you while you're away by you knowing that your dog is being loved, cared for, pampered, exercised and played with as if s/he was one of my own! My husband and I live in a split-level home in Skokie with a large fenced-in yard. We were privileged to be the owners of two adorable, sweet-natured and friendly female Beagles named Bria and Chloe. Bria was 14 when she passed in 1994, and Chloe recently passed in February of this year. She was almost 16. They were the best! Since I work out of my home, I'm typically there through-out the day, so you never have to worry about your dog being alone. I will always accommodate your dog's unique needs by following your instructions faithfully. I'll keep you updated with photos, texts and emails, if desired, so you'll never have to wonder "What's going on?" Your dog's comfort and your peace of mind are my top priorities. I'd like to develop a long-term service relationship with you and your dog and hope you'll consider me for any of your dog's boarding, walking, or home-visit needs. Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. I can't wait to meet you and your beloved pet! Thanks. Jane I have recently retired so that now I have the complete flexibility and freedom throughout the day to meet the needs and requirements of your dog. I have a very dog-friendly home. I have dog beds and water bowls on each floor of my split-level home, a large fenced-in yard and 30 years of having 2 beloved dogs of my own. Your dog will be in the best of hands!

About: Going out of town? Your dog will love our friendly Evanston home located near Lake Michigan beaches and forest preserves. We provide weekly adventures such as trips to the dog beach and pooch park, walks in the neighborhood, playtime in our fenced in backyard, and lots of love and attention. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs in my family since I was born. I grew up in rural areas in the Midwest, and we always had at least one family dog of varying breeds. When I became an adult, I got a black lab puppy from my sister, who had rescued its mother while it was pregnant. I became very interested in dog training, reading any books I could get my hands on and applying their techniques. My lab, Asia, became the gentlest, most well-trained dog most people had ever met. We lost her at age 13; since then, we have always had a lab as a family pet and we have taken care of countless other breeds. About my yard We have a fenced back yard--it is a 6 foot fence around the perimeter with a 5 foot chain link fence between our yard and our friendly neighbor's yard. There is an open area where the dogs can roam freely, a concrete patio, and a vegetable garden that lines one side of the house between our yard and our neighbor's yard. Dogs are supervised by an adult when they are in our yard--we do not leave them unattended. The majority of your dog's outdoor time will be spent on walks and outings. I am a teacher, so I have weekends and holidays off. In addition, I have 2 young adults and a teen living with me who often help by cuddling and playing with our clients. We do not crate our clients unless upon request. Dogs are free to lounge on beds or furniture. No dog likes to be left behind, but we will do our very best to ease your pup's stress. I have over many years of pet boarding and training experience.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Skokie
This was my first time leaving my girl, Aquavit, and leaving her with Liz soothed all my nerves. She’s attentive and patient, and treats your pet like they’re her own. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and you won’t find a better pet sitter than her.

I hired Riley at the absolute very last minute and she accommodated me and made sure our three cats were well taken care of. She communicated quickly and politely, and responded to our requests on the fly. We sincerely appreciate her love for animals and will look to hire her first for the next time we travel.
Mae was great with Legacy. She handled six drop-ins over three days, sent photo updates, and made it easy to feel comfortable while I was away. Legacy seemed calm and content when I got home, which is exactly what you hope for. I also really appreciated that Mae took the time to walk Legacy during her visits. Legacy is a big dog and can be a little more challenging because of her past trauma, but Mae handled her great I’d absolutely book Mae again and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely good with dogs.

Our 6 month old puppy cuddled up with Revan after only a few minutes and I was convinced she really is the dog whisperer. Our cat came out to see her too! It's very rare that our cat comes out when a new person is in the house. We are excited to have Revan housesit next month and know our babies will be in the best possible care.

The best pet sitter. Rosy literally just saved my cat’s life, when she noticed he was not his usual self, took him to the vet, where they identified he had a urinary blockage and likely just hours to live. How lucky for us that Rosy was caring for our animals and so observant. Thank you, forever. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

MELINA IS THE BEST! I was gone for two weeks and she made daily visits to my fur baby. Mind you my cat isn’t the friendliest but she made sure he was well fed and looked after. She was so patient and friendly and made the process so smooth. She sent me photos and updates daily that made me feel so relieved being out of town for so long. Definitely rebooking her each time and recommending her to everyone!!! You fur baby is safe with her! Thank you so much Melina!! 10/10

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
