“Kristina was great - a real professional! She took wonderful care of our senior dog, sending lots of pictures and updates every day. Jilly came back a very happy lady and we wouldn't hesitate to have her stay with Kristina again.”
“This was our.. I lost count of how many times we had our dogs stay with Thao, and I must say she is awesome every single time. She always updates, always sends pictures, and makes sure the dogs are entertaining and having fun. On the way back home, they both passed out in my car.”

“This was my first long trip away since getting Clifton and I was so lucky to find Jeff and Ron. They gave great updates and took great care of Clifton. I picked him up and he was happy and calm! Will not hesitate to send Clifton back for a stay.”

“Doug and Debbie were incredible hosts for our dog, Stella, while our family was away for a week. Stella can be slow to warm up to new people, but thanks to their gentle care, she quickly felt at ease. We had a few unexpected flight cancellations, which required Stella to stay an extra day, and Doug and Debbie happily accommodated her without any issues. We're so grateful that Stella had a safe, loving place to stay, and she especially loved their beautiful backyard patio. Will definitely be re-booking for any other family vacation!”
“Tony was so great with our dog, Bean! Upon meeting him, our dog just walked with him and didn’t even look back! He also gave us constant updates - sharing photos and messages to make sure we know our dog is comfy and in great hands. We are so grateful that we didn’t have to worry about anything while we were away!”

“Obi seemed to really enjoy his stay with Brian! Obi is sensitive, so he will get sick from separation anxiety after I pick him up from a stay or he will be very clingy. He’s been completely normal since I’ve picked him up and he is doing perfectly fine! Brian provided me updates daily that eased my own separation anxiety. Thank you, Brian!”

“This was the first time used Rover in many years, and first time with my current pup Gibby. I was a bit nervous leaving him with people we'd just met but my worry was wasted. Rizwan, Noor and their family took great care of my pup. He was walked multiple times a day, was showered with pets and was able to monitor their neighborhood from a perfect viewing spot. They kindly welcomed him (us) into their home for a very comfortable stay. Thank you Noor and Rizwan for taking such good care of Gibby.”

“Nicky was great with our Frenchie. Lots of communication and photos. Would recommend if you need someone that can care for a fussy dog that needs lots of attention!”

“Tully has stayed with Rico three times now, and each time she comes home totally exhausted and unbelievably happy. Rico sends a ton of pictures, gives her plenty of walks, lets her explore the backyard, and generally just gives her (and us!) a wonderful experience. We can’t recommend him and his family enough for your dog-sitting needs!”

“Our dog had such a great time during our vacation she wanted to go back the next day! Georg and Lake were extremely good communicators both before and during her stay too!”

“Sky was super responsive and helpful! She was flexible too. She took great care of the pups, which isn’t the easiest with our 14yo yorkie 💙 she played with our energetic Honey and took sweet pictures for us of both. Appreciated her care and will book again when my parents are in town and need a sitter!”

“Juilia was great. She was very responsive and did a lot of activities with Nico to ease him into a new environment. I would absolutely leave my dog with her again.”

“Kimberly took good care of Lumi. Thank you for doing that! She is very energetic when coming back. The only suggestion is if she could send us pictures of our cat once a day which would be perfect.”

“Simply the best! My husband jokes that our pup doesn’t want to come home when she stays with Laura and Vladimir and it may not be a joke! We love having Olive stay there because we know she is safe and well taken care of!”

“Love Lauren and her family! She is so good at sending daily photo updates and letting us know what is happening right away. I trust her with my pup 100% and will continue to ask her to take care of him in the future!”

“Sophie and Sean were so great with Benny. This is the first time I’ve left him so I was anxious but it all went really well! I would def rehire their services!”

“Jeanette took great care of my dog. She was communicative and took great photos. I knew my dog was better off with her than boarded somewhere.”

“If you have an anxious dog like mine, who needs a quiet, less-stimulating environment, Karla is perfect. She is reliable, communicative, and understands a dog's needs. I'm a repeat customer and highly recommend her.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Skokie
We’ve left our dog, Hoagie, with Sheri before and this time he started wagging like crazy and jumped up on her when he saw her. It’s clear he likes her and it’s great to have such a true professional to sit him when we’re out of town! I would highly recommend Sheri.

This was my first time using Rover, which I was pretty nervous about since I usually have a family member watch my dog. Sandra and Sorin were very friendly sitters. They took excellent care of my dog and sent me cute photos and videos of my dog. Mikey had a great time with them. I will be recommending them again in the near future.

We had our little Dachshund boarded with Kazuhiro & Akemi and found them to be extremely responsive, responsible and easy to work with. With lots of photos daily showing walks, playing and rest time, we felt reassured that our little sausage was being well looked after. I feel very comfortable recommending them!

We cannot thank Doug & Deb enough for looking after our dog, Taz. We had to rush to the hospital to have our baby, and they stepped in immediately to help. They came and picked Taz up, which took a massive weight off our shoulders during a very stressful and exciting moment. Throughout his stay, they sent regular updates and photos, keeping us completely at ease while we were in the hospital. Taz was treated like family and received the absolute best care. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for loving, reliable, and compassionate pet sitters. We will definitely be booking with them again!

Ms Marianne took care of our 15 year old Snowie while we are away. Caring for a senior dog requires extra patience, attention and compassion, and they exceeded our expectations. She kept us updated with photos and made sure our Snowie was comfortable and well looked after. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such caring hands. Snowie came home happy, well cared for, and clearly received plenty of attention and affection. We are incredibly grateful and happily recommend them to anyone.

Claire has been a wonderful caregiver, tending to the needs of our diabetic pup, Shelly. Claire sent regular updates regarding feeding and medication, as well as photos and updates about how Shelly was doing. We are so grateful to have found Claire - she truly went above and beyond in caring for our beloved pup.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
