Please note: while no children live in our home our grandchildren are regular visitors. They love all of our guests but understand that some may not wish to play and our children know to leave them alone. If yours isn’t comfortable with children we are more than happy to talk about it, perhaps we can help. We've taken care of our own dogs and friends dogs over the years. We've raised 3 from puppies and two other 'step-dogs' from puppies as well. Ours have been multiple breeds including Wheaten Terrier, Whoodle (Wheaten Poodle mix), Cockapoo, and 2 Pit Bulls. We've given medicine and shots so your diabetic dog is welcome. Our guests receive the attention they desire and always a bottomless bowl of filtered water! :> ) Bonus: If you're traveling out of O'Hare we offer free and easy street parking (always a space) and your Über X ride is about $28.

Noodles had the pleasure of staying with Doug and Deb for the third time this past week. If the kids were missing Noodles, they had plenty of pictures from his stay with Doug & Deb to know he was having a great time while we were away. We rest easy knowing he is truly cared for and enjoyed!

Deb and Doug were amazing with our 2 dogs over a 3-night stay. Very responsive and the dogs seemed super well taken care of. Duncan seemed sad to leave Deb, which is always a good sign! We will definitely book with them again.
Doug and Deb watched Ellie for the first time while we were out of the country on vacation. You can tell they just love (and understand) dogs, and quickly figured out Ellie's quirks. Doug and Deb managed to capture many great moments in photos even though our dog does her best to avoid cameras! Great communication, helpfulness and we never worried a bit about our little lady allowing us to fully enjoy our trip!
Jenny had her first stay of 2026 with Doug & Deb. She had "fun in the sun" (on the deck) and I hear she enjoyed all the attention on Easter. She says see you soon (I hope)!

Schedule
We are retired and home most of the day everyday. We prefer one dog at a time but are open to exploring if you have two. When we commit to taking care of your dog(s) you may count on us to take excellent care.

Safety, trust & environment
We are prepared to offer our guests at least one on-leash walk each day unless you direct that they only spend time in our fenced in yard. We do not kennel unless you bring one with directions to do so. If our guest requires medicine or shots we have plenty of experience, you'll show us how you want it done, it will be done. If you'd like to have a photo sent each day we can do that, in fact we like doing that.
A typical day
If our guest is trained we will put s/he through their paces. If they have an activity they like and you share that with us, we will do our best to incorporate that into their day.
