“Thao was amazing! She agreed to take in Benji at the last minute. We received pictures throughout his stay. I can't thank Thao enough for taking great care of our precious Benjamin.”
“Ella is outstanding! We've used her consistently over the past few years and always have the utmost confidence in her and know that Kona is receiving love and care that matches our own! I'd give her 10 stars if I could.”

“Naomi and Johann helped to board Coco twice in a row. After 6 days Coco was excited to see me for a min when I picked her up but back to her old self right after and that’s exactly what you’d want - just like she only just took a walk with friends in the park. I’d be happy to bring her back next time!”

“Rizwan, Noorjahan and their family were such great sitters for our dog and cat! They are such a sweet family and we received many pictures every day. I was reassured that both my pets were having a great time with them! Will definitely reach out again for our next sitting.”

“Kazu & Akemi are great! The mutual affection between them and our 2 dogs is obvious. They always send photos & are very responsive. Couldn't be happier with the care they give our dogs!”

“Kristina was perfectly on time (to the minute!) for pickup and drop off. She handled our rambunctious 4.5 month old puppy with ease!! We can’t wait to rely on Kristina in the future. He came back happy, clean, and tired! We got lots of daily picture updates.”

“Five very waggy stars for Meghan (and her sweet pup, Ralphie)! Meghan is absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that she is a true dog lover with tons of experience, and she knew exactly how to make our dog feel safe, happy, and completely at home. Our dog was treated like a member of her family and had the time of his life playing with Ralphie and the other dogs. The adorable photos and videos gave us so much peace of mind while we were away...and honestly, I think he was a little sad to come home, which is probably the highest compliment a dog can give. We will absolutely book again. Weekend at Ralphie’s is officially dog-approved!”

“Jeffery and Ron were great. My dog often gets nervous when she stays with new people. But she was very happy during her first visit. Jeffrey sent several updates and pictures during the day. I would highly recommend them.”

“Laura and Vldimir were great host and I can tell Ruby enjoyed her stay while she was there. They also sent out photos so I can see how Ruby was doing while she was staying with them. I would totally book them again for Ruby.”

“Dasha loved her stay with Janette and Charles! They kept us updated with pictures and videos and our puppy couldn’t get enough of the other dogs and fenced in yard.”

“Lauren and her family took such good care of our dog Sawyer! This was our first time being away from our puppy so we were worried she was going to be scared, but she had so much fun playing with their dog Zoe while we were away. Lauren sent us pictures everyday to let us know how she was doing. By the time we got back, Sawyer was already attached to Lauren, Zoe, and the rest of the family.”

“Cynthia is fantastic! She is responsive, my dog loved it at her house, and took great care of her. Loved the text updates as well of our pup loving her best life with other boarders.”

“Mocha had an awesome stay at Jiayi’s. She is well taken care of and had lots of fun hanging out with her other furry friends. Jiayi is very accommodating and she even replaced Mocha’s broken leash and took time to look for a similar one. Great sitter!”

“Sandra and Sorin are amazing dog sitters. My senior dog had a gastrointestinal issue during his stay. They tried multiple food products to encourage him to eat. Ultimately, Sandra cooked chicken and rice, my dog’s preferred meal when he is sick. Sandra and Sorin also pampered my dog when they suspected pain in his right hind leg. They are incredibly diligent and loving sitters. I am grateful for the extraordinary care they provided to my little boy.”
“Doug and Debbie were incredible hosts for our dog, Stella, while our family was away for a week. Stella can be slow to warm up to new people, but thanks to their gentle care, she quickly felt at ease. We had a few unexpected flight cancellations, which required Stella to stay an extra day, and Doug and Debbie happily accommodated her without any issues. We're so grateful that Stella had a safe, loving place to stay, and she especially loved their beautiful backyard patio. Will definitely be re-booking for any other family vacation!”
“Carly was so great with Rayna! Constantly sending updates and pictures. I felt at ease being on the other side of the world and having my dog looked after by Carly :)”

i would give 10 stars if i could! Thao took great care of our puppy and we’ve never seen our dog so happy while away from us. We got so many updates and even with the severe weather that occurred during our dogs stay, Thao ensured our dogs safety and comfort! We are extremely grateful for Thao’s expertise and support and would 100% trust her for another stay in the future!

Ella and Sidney took great care of my dog Sugar! They kept me up to date with photos and text messages for the 3 nights they had her. It’s always a little nerve racking leaving your baby in someone else care that you don’t know and someone your pup doesn’t know either, but it was all good. Thanks again Ella & Sidney !!

We used to leave our dog at a large dog boarding place when traveling, and she would be grouped with so many different dogs that I can tell she was traumatized and often took days to be back to her normal carefree self (and she would have dog drooling all over her). This time under Nancyanne’s care our dog was able to stick to a routine similar to at home, and I can tell she was quite comfortable and after 9 days it was seamless that her demeanor was like she never left home. We would happily recommend Nancyanne to anyone who needs help.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
93% of Winnetka sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Winnetka landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Winnetka home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Winnetka.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Winnetka sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
