Archie absolutely had the best time with Kazu and Akemi. Walks, backyard horseplay, playtime with another dog, a nap, so much attention. Makes my heart full knowing he was loved and taken care of for the day.

Naomi & Johann took wonderful care of Javy. I made a last minute, same day request and they came thru. I knew immediately upon dropping Javy off that he would be in good hands. They introduced Javy to their dog, Milo, expertly and they were both affectionate with Javy right away. She sent photos and a video and I could tell Javy was very comfortable & happy. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

This is the first time we’ve had someone (who is not our family) watch our dog. I was very nervous especially be in Poppy is young - she’s just a year old. Noor watched Poppy for a day. Noor was so patient with her - poppy was initially apprehensive to go in their house, but Noor took her time to ensure Poppy was comfortable. Noor asked questions about feeding, walks, general behavior & preferences. this put me at ease knowing she was thinking these. We did this trial daycare in preparation for a longer stay for Poppy later this year. Noor was also very communicative with texts and also a video! We were happy with the care poppy received and plan to book with Noor again!

Whitney is the best. My Cami loved her, she responded to her like a second mom. Cami has allergies and needs a tons of love and attention. This is my second time using Rover and i was so happy with Whitney. She is attentive, makes sure my dog was comfortable and cami looked happy and well fed. Her poops were healthyand there were no adjustments needed returning home its like she was leaving one home to the other.

Claire documented walks including duration, route and distance, and meals including time, amount of food eaten by each dog. Her feedback on my dogs' personality traits was spot on as well, demonstrating her care and attention. I would wholeheartedly recommend Claire to anyone in need of a trustworthy sitter. About: Hi! I’ve been a lifelong animal lover, and I’ve had pets all my life — so I know how much pets mean to their families. My girlfriend introduced me to Rover, and since then, I’ve been all in. I currently walk up to 10 dogs a day and board around 2 dogs each month, and I truly enjoy every minute of it. Whether it’s a high-energy pup who needs long walks or a shy cat who just wants a quiet companion, I treat every pet like my own. I know how important trust is when it comes to pet care, and I always go the extra mile to make sure your furry friend feels safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I’d love the chance to meet your pet and give them the care and attention they deserve! Pet care is a major part of my daily routine. I work in real estate, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of control over my time. This flexibility allows me to dedicate consistent blocks of time each day to walking dogs, doing drop-in visits, and boarding pets comfortably in my home. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, safety and trust always come first. In my home, I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment. I make sure there are no hazards within reach, keep any unfamiliar pets separated as needed, and provide plenty of space for relaxation, play, and personal time. I follow any routines or rules you provide so your pet feels comfortable and secure—just like they would at home. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I treat it with the same respect and care I would my own. I follow all instructions closely, keep your pet’s schedule consistent, and provide regular updates so you can feel confident they’re in good hands. I’m always attentive to their behavior, energy levels, and comfort to make sure they’re safe and happy throughout the visit. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, or quiet companionship, I’m committed to providing a trustworthy, low-stress experience for both you and your pet.

If you need a reliable, flexible, and kind pet sitter, look no further than Rebeca. She took my pups on short notice and didn't blink an eye when I realized I had accidentally booked a 2-hour visit instead of 14 hours. She was happy to keep them the whole day, communicated proactively with fun updates and photos, and gave them access to a massive fenced-in yard that they absolutely loved. She made a stressful booking mistake completely stress-free. Thank you, Rebeca!

About: Hi! I'm Livia, and animals have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. Over the years my husband and I have had our own four dogs, two bunnies, and two ducks (yes, really!), so "a little bit of everything" is genuinely our specialty. We don't have any pets of our own right now, which is actually one of the best things about your furry friend staying with us. Your pet gets the run of the house with no resident animals to negotiate with, which is a huge relief for shy, anxious, or reactive dogs/cats who just need room to decompress. And there's a LOT of room. Our entire downstairs is 2,000 square feet and completely open to our guests, with dog beds tucked into every room so they can pick their favorite spot. Outside is a full fenced-in acre yard: space to run, sniff, and roll around in the grass without ever needing a trip to the park. Best of all, at least one of us is home all day, every day. Your pet is never left alone and never crated (unless you'd prefer them to be crated). We're happy handling puppies still learning the rules, seniors who need a gentler pace, medications on a schedule, and nervous pets who need someone patient. And if anything ever were to come up, we're literally a two-minute drive from three different emergency vet clinics. We're looking forward to welcoming your pet! My husband and I both work from home, which is the whole reason we're able to do this so well. There's no window where the house is empty - someone is always here, in the same room (usually being used as a pillow by one of our guests!). That means your pet's routine gets to stay your pet's routine. Whatever their feeding schedule is, we'll keep it. Meds at 7am and 7pm? Done. A dog who needs a mid-afternoon nap in a quiet room, or one who wants to be outside every hour on the hour? Also fine. We're not working around a commute, so we can build the day around them instead of the other way around. You'll get a few photos and updates a day, so you can see exactly how they're settling in. And we always do a meet-and-greet before booking, so everyone (including your pet) knows who they're staying with before the first night. Our yard is a full fenced acre behind a 6-foot privacy fence, so there's serious room to run with no gaps to squeeze through. Inside, our whole downstairs (about 2,000 square feet) is open to our guests, with dog beds in every room so they can pick their preferred spot. Cats stay upstairs in their own quiet, private bedrooms with the doors closed, completely separate from any dogs. We don't have pets of our own, so nobody's defending their territory when your pet walks in. Every booking starts with a meet-and-greet, and if we're hosting more than one family at a time, new dogs meet slowly and on leash in the yard before they're ever loose together. If any pair isn't a match, they get separated. Someone is home 24/7, so your pet is never left alone. We're comfortable with medications, senior pets who need a gentler pace, and nervous ones who need time. And we're literally a two-minute drive from three emergency vet clinics if anything ever were to come up.

This house is the definition of love. My dog loves to be around this family and is such a humble experience to know that Uma is so happy to go and spend time with them. Space is super clean, yard is so big and they simply love animals. I came across angels and I’m very very grateful for them!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 3,596 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Winnetka. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Winnetka commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,596 sitters in Winnetka, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
