“Naomi & Johann took wonderful care of Javy. I made a last minute, same day request and they came thru. I knew immediately upon dropping Javy off that he would be in good hands. They introduced Javy to their dog, Milo, expertly and they were both affectionate with Javy right away. She sent photos and a video and I could tell Javy was very comfortable & happy. I will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“This is the first time we’ve had someone (who is not our family) watch our dog. I was very nervous especially be in Poppy is young - she’s just a year old. Noor watched Poppy for a day. Noor was so patient with her - poppy was initially apprehensive to go in their house, but Noor took her time to ensure Poppy was comfortable. Noor asked questions about feeding, walks, general behavior & preferences. this put me at ease knowing she was thinking these. We did this trial daycare in preparation for a longer stay for Poppy later this year. Noor was also very communicative with texts and also a video! We were happy with the care poppy received and plan to book with Noor again!”

“Our long time sitter is moving out of the area and we were so concerned that we would never find someone as comparable and we did. Lee and Niv are awesome, caring and we feel completely confident leaving our little Jack with rhem”

“Leo had such a great time with Kaz and Akemi for daycare! Played, walked, and enjoyed access to the backyard without a leash (we don’t have a fenced yard like they do). They sent me photos and videos throughout the day to show all the fun Leo was having. Leo will be so excited to board there next week! Thank you both for your great care!”

About: I have had cats, dogs, and fish for the past 15 years. I have boarded, walked, and sat many animals including the ones listed above. I have also done feedings and administering medications. I always like to get detailed notes and a walk through of the care you need so the pets are well taken care of throughout my time with them. I am currently open to any times and days. I am in school and am doing it completely online and asynchronous. I can work with you separately to figure out the best schedule. I am always wanting a walk through and detailed sheet of paper describing schedules and everything I need to know. I will also send frequent updates including pictures. I have administered medications before and ask to be shown how to administer so they don’t miss a day.

“Claire is a standout. She communicates timely and effectively, is polite and professional, organized and most importantly she is incredible with dogs. Claire documented walks including duration, route and distance, and meals including time, amount of food eaten by each dog. Her feedback on my dogs' personality traits was spot on as well, demonstrating her care and attention. I would wholeheartedly recommend Claire to anyone in need of a trustworthy sitter. THANK YOU, CLAIRE!”

“Kristina is so communicative and sweet. We had never left our French Bulldog Ziggy with anyone minus family so we were very nervous. She sent pictures and provided an update when we picked Ziggy up. I feel comfortable leaving Ziggy with Kristina and you should feel comfortable leaving your dog with Kristina too!”
“Cynthia was welcoming, communicative, professional, and genuinely cares about the dogs in her care. It was great to see the dogs playing together and enjoying her house and yard, so we'd absolutely have her dog sit for us again!”

“I really like Andrew’s set up, spacious house with a fensed in yard, all accessible to the dogs. I enjoyed meeting him and his lovely family, and felt very comfortable leaving my puppy there. He came back happy and tired!”
“My dog is well taken care of with this sweet family. I’m so grateful to find reliable care as I start a new job. Their little dog is so cute, and I love that Wolfy has some company.”

About: I am the proud mother of two adult daughters who love working for Rover! I retired from teaching after 20 years and am now a mental health therapist. I’ve had dogs or cats almost my whole life and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to care for yours! I treat all pets with unconditional love and understanding. I work remotely from home full-time Mondays through Fridays & am able to give potty breaks in the morning, afternoon & evenings. I run errands on Saturdays & Sundays so am able to spend quality time w/ your pet at least every 4 hours on the weekends. I can easily crate your dog if needed. Dogs can freely play throughout my house and are welcome to sit on the furniture and beds as they like.
“Myriam is kind, prompt, and super attentive/confident/responsible with dogs! I needed someone last minute and Myriam was super helpful and kept Zo for me all afternoon, as well as kept me updated with pictures! Absolutely great!”

“Debbie is the absolute sweetest person! She watched our dog for the day while we hosted an engagement party for our son. We received pictures and videos throughout the day I Highly recommend Debbie. We will be using her again for sure Thank you so much”

“I am so blessed to have found her not far from home to watch over my 13 months old high energy puppy. After the first dog sitter he came to crash in his crate. He had no energy to not even jump. As first time dog owner- I have no idea what I’m doing but Jackie sure is a dog whisperer.”

“Suzy was so great! Ginger will be excited to see her again! She and her dog, Zoe, were super sweet. What a treat. Zoe is was so mild mannered even in the midst of my excited, sometimes high strung, doggy. Suzy took time to meet and talk with me before Ginger began her stay, which was great. I can tell she's not only responsible, but loves dogs as well. I'm so glad to have another dog sitter I can rely on when I need someone for a vacation or long outing.”

“If you need a reliable, flexible, and kind pet sitter, look no further than Rebeca. She took my pups on short notice and didn't blink an eye when I realized I had accidentally booked a 2-hour visit instead of 14 hours. She was happy to keep them the whole day, communicated proactively with fun updates and photos, and gave them access to a massive fenced-in yard that they absolutely loved. She made a stressful booking mistake completely stress-free. Thank you, Rebeca!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
