“Bob, so thankful for your attentiveness, kindness, and care to our puppies. I appreciate your flexibility and always going the extra mile. So glad you were there for us on our expected and unexpected trips to Illinois!”

“My dog is well taken care of with this sweet family. I’m so grateful to find reliable care as I start a new job. Their little dog is so cute, and I love that Wolfy has some company.”

“She is an incredible professional. Her energy, knowledge, and passion for training dogs really stand out. She doesn't just work with the dogs—she also teaches owners how to better understand and train them. Scöll always comes home happy, relaxed, and excited after spending time with her, which says a lot about the care and dedication she puts into her work. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding dog trainer.”

“Eileen is wonderful! Our dog requires special attention due to a recent surgery. I was hesitant on leaving him with anyone. She was great with the special needs he required. She was attentive to him and kept us posted on his daily stay with her. She included pictures as well. Will be using Eileen again. Hoping that our pooch is better with his surgery at that time.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and genuinely enjoy caring for them. I had a dog back in my home country and took care of him every day until I had to leave the country. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I treat every dog like family and pay close attention to their individual needs, routines, and personality. My flexible schedule allows me to dedicate quality time and attention to your pet. I am committed to maintaining your dog’s normal routine and ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, affection, and companionship throughout the day. Your dog’s safety and happiness come first. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment and carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and routines. I believe communication is key, so I will keep you updated with messages and pictures. My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, secure, and cared for every step of the way.
“This is the first time we’ve had someone (who is not our family) watch our dog. I was very nervous especially be in Poppy is young - she’s just a year old. Noor watched Poppy for a day. Noor was so patient with her - poppy was initially apprehensive to go in their house, but Noor took her time to ensure Poppy was comfortable. Noor asked questions about feeding, walks, general behavior & preferences. this put me at ease knowing she was thinking these. We did this trial daycare in preparation for a longer stay for Poppy later this year. Noor was also very communicative with texts and also a video! We were happy with the care poppy received and plan to book with Noor again!”

“D’Artagnan is a great provider for our boy and made sure to send us updates every once in a while to let us know he was doing alright. Reassuring and understood things our boy couldn’t eat or do. Overall very satisfied and believe our boy had a great time.”

“Paula is phenomenal. My dog Molly had a blast with her. Molly is very dog selective but got along with Choclo very well. Molly also loved Paula and her mom. I got many videos and photos throughout the day and updated on how everyone is getting along. We will 100% be returning to hang out with Paula and Choclo.”

“Deborah is a true dog lover. Arthur was instantly comfortable with her and doesn't even see us leave! I am completely at ease whenever we leave him in her care. Thank you Deborah!!”

“We could not ask for a better first experience. Tanya took excellent care of our new puppy. From potty breaks to play times she was there with him sending updates and pics. We were able to enjoy our night knowing he was in good hands. Thanks again.”

“When you drop your doggy off you can tell that Patricia is someone who truly loves dogs. She always has playmates which is perfect for my puppy to socialize and he always comes home to me happy and tired! Definetely recommend she is very flexible with time as well.”

“Jackie saved the day, offering to sit for my dog CoCo when the other sitter failed to come through for me. She is kind, thoughtful, responsible, and communicative, and I love her Black Cat! I recommend her whole-heartedly. :)”

“I highly recommend Corrine for your pet sitting needs. She is a warm and friendly pet sitter who took excellent care of my pets. I am so happy that I found Corrine because she loves and cares animals. She exclusively dedicated her time to my pet without taking in other dogs at the same time. She sent me daily photos of show she took my pets to the park and was very kind to them. Again, I highly recommend Corrine for any pet sitting needs. Thank you!”

“Naomi & Johann took wonderful care of Javy. I made a last minute, same day request and they came thru. I knew immediately upon dropping Javy off that he would be in good hands. They introduced Javy to their dog, Milo, expertly and they were both affectionate with Javy right away. She sent photos and a video and I could tell Javy was very comfortable & happy. I will definitely be a repeat customer!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Des Plaines
Tatiana took excellent care of our maltipoo. Our doggie is a bit nervous and barking when we first arrived but she calmed down after sniffing Tatiana’s hand and went to her arms and seemed comfortable. Tatiana seemed gentle with my dog and my dog was at ease with her. She was easy to communicate with and responsive, sent photos and kept me updated.

Diana was responsive and accommodated my schedule last minute. Loki seemed well cared for and happy when I picked him up. I know he had a good time, because he was calm and tired when he got home. I will definitely go back and recommend Diana for doggy day care.

Cristina has a big heart and a beautiful home and yard. My senior pup has a lot of separation anxiety and needs a lot of love and support. So, I am always very anxious when I leave her with someone new. Cristina's warmth, kindness, and professionalism immediately put me at ease. My little Yoshi was well taken care of and I will definitely be asking Cristina to take care of her again. I highly recommend her!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
