“Hannah was amazing with our 9‑month‑old puppy, Romeo! She took such good care of him, made sure he was fed on time, and went out of her way to keep him comfortable and happy while we were gone. She kept sending us the cutest pics and videos, which really helped us relax on our trip. Romeo clearly had the best time with her, and we’ll definitely be booking her again every time we need boarding for Romeo. “Cheryl is absolutely the best, most caring person on rover. She will 100% treat your pet like one of her own and will make sure they are well taken care of. She is communicative, sending regular updates on how our dog was doing. Our large, senior dog experienced some health issues while we were gone, and Cheryl went above and beyond to make sure our dog was well taken care of including taking our dog to our vet multiple times for fluids. Even our vet told us that Cheryl is the sweetest person ever. There is no one I would trust more with our dog, and I absolutely suggest to anyone to book with her because she will take amazing care of you and your pets. Thank you Cheryl! You seriously are the best sitter on this app! Thank you for taking such good care of our girl while we were away.”

“Kasia stayed with our puppy Bella over the weekend and our experience was amazing! Kasia was so attentive and shared photos every day of Bella and her sweet little daughter! Kasia and her daughter played with Bella endlessly! We love that she only sits for one dog at a time! I will recommend Kasia to all of my friends! We hope to see you again soon! Thank you for taking such great care of our girl! ?”

About: With over 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, I offer calm, attentive, one-on-one boarding in a clean and peaceful home. As a former groomer, I’m skilled in handling anxious, shy, or energetic dogs, and I’m confident in brushing, basic hygiene care, and reading canine body language. I currently have one friendly Shiba Inu at home, and I only host one client at a time—ensuring your dog receives my full attention and a safe, low-stress environment. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, slow walks, or quiet company, I adjust my care based on their routine and comfort level. Feel free to send me a message—I'd love to learn about your dog and how I can make their stay feel like home. Your dog’s care is naturally built into my daily routine. We start the morning with a refreshing walk, breakfast, and some calm bonding time. Throughout the day, your dog will enjoy structured potty breaks, enrichment games, and plenty of supervised relaxation. You will receive updates during these key moments—morning, afternoon, and evening—so you’ll always know how your dog is settling in. I stay closely aligned with your dog’s normal schedule to reduce stress and help them feel at home quickly. Consistency, supervision, and comfort are always my priorities. I provide full-time supervision when boarding, maintain a clean living space, and follow each dog’s feeding, medication, and potty schedule exactly as instructed. Dogs are never left unsupervised around my Shiba Inu, and introductions are done slowly and safely. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages throughout the day so you always know how your dog is doing.
“Justine was extremely generous with her time and provided a safe and loving environment for our senior dog who is 15 years old and blind. I did not want our dog to be in a setting with too many other dogs which would make him nervous and on top of that he takes medications. This was a family style setting and Justine and her family treated my dog like family. That’s the best quality experience you could ask for.”

“I cannot rave enough about how wonderful Jonelle and her family are! They took such great care of my dog Topo! Topo is an anxious dog but shortly after being dropped off at Jonelle’s house, she was comfortable, playing fetch, and enjoying the company of her family and two pups! She was always sending me updates and photos which help me feel relieved all weekend. I truly would recommend Jonelle’s care if you want your pup to feel at home and be loved like family. Thank you so much Jonelle and family I know Topo had a blast!”

From the moment we met Liz we loved her positive spirit and we could tell what a dog-lover she is. We had a good feeling about how she would care for our 12-year old quirky Shiba Inu, and we weren’t wrong! Liz was amazing. She took such good care of him, following all of his routines, including daily walks. We loved her daily photo updates. We don’t often board our dog, so her updates gave us a good sense of how he was settling in and feeling at home with her, and that was a big factor in helping us to enjoy our vacation without worry for him. And Liz went above and beyond, when Sasuke was not feeling well. She let us know right away, and when symptoms didn’t improve after a day she made an appointment with our vet, took him to the appointment, and called us to join the consultation via speaker phone. Her experience working at a vet clinic showed in the way she calmly and confidently knew just what to do to take care of Sasuke and make sure he was comfortable as he recovered. We felt so happy with Liz that we’ve already scheduled her to watch Sasuke during our next vacation.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
