“We booked it last moment and were very lucky to find Maricela. Our little yorkie was in good hands, we received updates regularly and will for sure reach out to her when needed again.”

“My dogs had a blast with Eniya! She was very responsive, professional, and accommodating to my last minute request. My energetic dogs came home happy and ready to take a nap. I will definitely book again and wouldn’t hesitate to refer her to anyone else.”

“Pamela Grace was super friendly and amazingly communicative. We felt immediately comfortable with her and so did Markie. We received so many updates and photos which we really appreciated. If you want a sitter that will go above and beyond plus obviously really cares about and loves dogs, this is your gal. Also, Xena is a total sweetheart.”

“Or dog Dixie stayed with Rima for two weeks over the Thanksgiving holiday and he was so comfortable he had be woken up when we picked him up! We loved getting pictures and video with updates during his stay. We would bring Dixie back to stay with Rima and her family again!”

“Mark was great with Cooper. He kept me informed on how Cooper was doing and was flexible when I needed to add an extra day. I will definitely use him again.”

“From the meet and greet to pick up, Brian was amazing. Our pup needs a one dog house and trying to find that over a holiday was challenging. We lucked out last minute and happened to find Brian; what a find! Brian has a lot of experience with animals and we felt very comfortable at our meet and greet. His fenced in backyard was a major plus. Since we were overseas at the time, we were apprehensive to leave her with someone new but Brian was awesome. He asked important questions before we dropped her off and was attentive to her needs and personality. We got updates through Rover with pics and videos. Our pup had to take some meds as well while we were gone and he administered them - she was feeling her usual, happy self when we got back. I would definitely recommend Brian and will definitely be trusting him next time we have to find a sitter. Thank you!”

“Kally was an amazing sitter!!! She dogsat our two crazy pups for the weekend and took such great care of them! She updated us throughout the weekend so that we didn’t have to worry and sent us adorable pictures. Our dogs returned so happy at the end of the weekend :) thank you so much Kally!!”

“Our dog loves Lyn and family! We’re so grateful we can leave her with someone we trust and pick her up as soon as we get home from the airport. Our dog loves the backyard and the chance to play with other dogs staying here! Huge thanks to them always!”

“Jamie took excellent care of our Hank. We got loads of updates and photos. Our pups got along great and we're a match for energy and play. We were able to do a meet and greet which went fantastic! Would recommend to anyone!”

“So friendly and accommodating to me and my Santi boy. He seemed so happy and comfortable arriving home so i KNOW he had a great time. Charise is a true dog lover and i look forward to booking with her again. Thank you!!”

“Joe took care of our 7mo old puppy for the weekend. It was our first time away from her and we were worried about how she would do with someone other than us. She did amazingly well and seemingly had a great time. I’m not surprised, Joe has a very welcoming and warm persona, it is obvious that he loves animals and he will treat yours as his own. He sent us pictures, video and updates all weekend long.”

“Maaya always has a great time at David’s and he is our first choice for taking care of our pup when we are out of town. As always - David was easy to coordinate with and sent lots of photos/updates while we were away.”

Lorraine was excellent I had no worries about Chestnut while he was in her care I recommend Lorraine she will take excellent care of your pet. Chestnut can’t wait to visit again”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Franklin Park
Robert and his family took excellent care of Spruce while we were away on an extended trip for nearly two weeks. Our pup is a one year old with a lot of energy for playing and had such a blast playing endless fetch in their fenced yard and with the dogs who would come by for in-home daycare. We got absolutely regular updates (with absolutely incredible action shots!) while we were traveling and it was clear to see Spruce was having a wonderful time and was being well cared for, and that knowledge and peace of mind is such a gift especially when we were thousands of miles away. Highly recommend!

Yolanda was incredibly communicative, reliable, and took wonderful care of Atlas. He had such a great stay! She even surprised us with a thoughtful goodie bag and an adorable photo of Atlas when we picked him up. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Yolanda, and we'll definitely book with her again!

This was my first time leaving my dog with a sitter. Things could not have gone smoother. I met with her in advance of the booking. She clearly loves dogs and taking care of them. My dog is very active and she has a nice backyard for the dogs to run and play. She then had to coordinate with my son on the pickup as I was still out of town. She was very accommodating and helpful with both of us. Will 100% use again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
