“I recommend Britanny a million times. From drop off to pickup she was very communicative sending pictures almost every day. She babied him and showed him love. My pup couldn’t have been in better hands. A+++ experience. Thank you Britanny and family.”

“Tatiana was the best taking care of both pups. Tatiana came over to meet our dogs and they gravitated towards her calm and loving nature. Thank you for going above and beyond for us.”

“Robert was so wonderful to work with. He sent us plenty of updates with photos/videos, responded in a timely manner, and was able to accommodate our dogs to both his great dogs. He helped ease our minds as we went on vacation for a few days. We definitely will be working with Robert again!”

“Hannah is an amazing full-time dog caregiver! She can handle anything and her schedule allows her to be super flexible with her clients. Our pup started an antibiotic 3 days before our trip, and she was able to take him, administer all the meds and keep him sequestered until he was no longer a health hazard. In addition, our flight was canceled and she kept C for an extra day at the same rate. We are confident in her abilities and her love for our dog.”
“Thomas is an amazing sitter, and communicating with him is very smooth. He sends me photos of my dog and keeps me updated on how he's doing. He was very patient waiting for me before I picked up Echo. I will continue to use him as a sitter in the future.”

About: I've taken care of pets ever since I was a kid. When I was in high school, my family hosted dogs of all sizes, including one of my favorites, a Burnese Mountain Dog named Ruby. Lately I've had the chance to watch my brother's two dogs (as seen in my bio pics) when he travels. I work a semi-active full time job over the week, with plenty of energy to spare when I'm not working. I am fully available over the weekends from Friday evening straight through to Sunday! I also am free on weekdays for walks or drop-ins as long as it's before 7:30 am or after 5 pm. Your dog will stay in a cozy, smoke-free condo where they are welcome on the furniture and bed. While I don't have a yard, I love taking long, frequent walks around the neighborhood. For their comfort and safety, I host one family at a time and ask that owners provide the dog's preferred bed or crate if possible
“Janette and Charles did a great job for my first time having Leo watched. They made sure he was cared for and got along with the other dogs they had. Would recommend them”

“Wilma and her family were amazing with Guy! He looked very happy when we picked him up. We know he was well taken care of. We hope to be able to have Guy visit them again soon.”

“Dave is great! He made us feel really comfortable with trusting him to care for our dogs, Winnie and Eddie. His passion and care for what he does is obvious in his interactions with the dogs and us their owners. Thanks so much Dave! We’ll definitely reach out to you again!”

“Kimberly did an excellent job taking care of Sophie! We could tell that she came home well rested and all of her needs were taken care of while we were gone. Kimberly and her family treated Sophie like she was part of their family! Provided timely updates with photos. Would not hesitate to have Sophie stay with them anytime we need to find her an extended stay.”

“Our dog Ernie had a great time with Bob while we were out of town! You can tell Bob really loves what he does, and it comes through in how he cares for the dogs he watches. We also loved getting videos of Ernie! Thanks, Bob!”

“Colleen did so well with Luna, especially with her being 8 weeks old. She provided so many updates and photos where I felt so at ease with being gone from her. Thank you so much. Highly recommend her!”

“Kimberly took good care of Lumi. Thank you for doing that! She is very energetic when coming back. The only suggestion is if she could send us pictures of our cat once a day which would be perfect.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Liz was great! Bella was a little anxious at first, especially staying in someone else’s house, and Liz was very communicative about that concern. We got photo and video updates every day of the stay and appreciated the quick responses when we asked for updates. We don’t travel often, so it really put us at ease seeing Bella’s happy face running in the yard and knowing she was taken care of!”

“Just the best kind of person, home and family to leave my somewhat anxious dog. Danielle is just great! Charlie came back to us after one week, so mellow and calm. We believe he misses all of his friends! We know if he could speak, he would let us know he definitely wanted to go back to the house in Villa Park....Thanks again, Danielle. John and Sharon”

“Thank you so much for taking care of Queenie for the past few days. I’m glad Queenie got along with your pup and your family and I’m glad she was happy and comfortable.”

“Amanda and Anton were wonderful. Our dog Winston was well taken care of by their family. They communicated and sent pictures while we were away. We would not hesitate to use them again.”

Kasia was amazing with Bento! We were out of town for a couple of weeks, and she made it so much easier being away from him by sending regular videos and pictures to keep us updated. It was obvious he was happy, well cared for, and having a great time. We really appreciated all the communication and the care she gave him. We'll definitely be booking with Kasia again the next time we travel. Thank you for taking such great care of Bento!

We had a great experience with Allis. She was very genuine from the moment we had our meet and greet. She understood our concerns with our doodle, who can be tempermental at times. Communicated with us everyday and our dog connected with her and her family. We highly recommend and would definitely board with her in the future.

Kent was wonderful with Rocky. Not only did he accommodate our last minute booking request with enthusiasm, he was a great communicator and made sure to stay in contact before, during and after Rocky’s stay. He sent me pictures as I requested and kept Rocky safe and cool in this crazy heat we are having. He seemed to really like Rocky, which is important too. Thank you Kent, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Kim is a fantastic sitter, who is very understanding of my dog's needs. She worked with him through some behavioral issues he was having in a new environment/setting. She is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and how to care for them. Unfortunately, her care is not the right fit for my dog, but it is no reflection of the care and support that she gave him throughout his visits. I would recommend Kim to friends and family.

Great first stay for Bingo. Robert was very willing to work with Bingo to make her feel part of the pack. The daily updates showed how she was enjoying her stay and making new friends. We know Bingo will be happy and well cared for when staying with Robert, Percy and Teddy.

With very short notice, Ed was able to accommodate our request for dog care for Maisie, our Golden Retriever. We were on an 11 day cruise and throughout our trip received pictures and updates on how Maisie was doing. She is a 1 year old golden with high energy and can be a handful. Not only did Ed improve her behavior on walks, but also worked on getting her to stop jumping on everyone she meets. It was wonderful to see her play with his dog and his children. Needless to say we wondered if she would want to come home with us because of all the attention she received. We highly recommend Ed and the wonderul care that he and his family provided for our Maisie.

Ashley was incredible! She sent an update with pictures every evening so we knew what they were up to and gave peace of mind while missing our girl. She was so attentive to Winnie - Let us know when her ear seemed to bother her and was down to clean her ears and offered to go purchase solution if needed. She checked with us prior to be sure Winnie could have a piece of Thanksgiving turkey and even got her a special toy during her own errand run which she still carries around. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! Would recommend to anyone!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
