25 years experience- Home full time
Thanks for stopping by! I have been an animal lover since I was five and a dog owner for 25 years now. Over the years I've owned dogs, gerbils, freshwater tropical fish and hermit crabs. I have taken care of cats in the past, but never owned one due to family member allergies. Previously to joining Rover, I owned a commercial dog daycare/boarding business at a separate location. Now I care for up to 3 guest dogs at a time in my home. My home is two stories with a chain link fenced yard where I let the medium-sized dogs play as it is a large space for running. Small dogs (under 15 lbs) play in our custom designed, fenced 21 ft by 8 ft dog run which features antimicrobial PetGrass turf for a always clean, always grassy play surface! After dark, all dogs use the dog run for potty breaks as it is lit at night. The dogs have the run of the house during their stay, with the exception of the living and dining room. If staying with me overnight, I prefer the dogs to sleep in a crate until I get to know them. Once I am familiar with your dog, I will allow them to sleep in whatever room they like. Drop-in Services can be designed to you liking , including a bit of play with water refills and feeding. Please note, drop in does not include a walk for dogs. I look forward to providing loving care for your family!

Ratings and reviews
Kim is a fantastic sitter, who is very understanding of my dog's needs. She worked with him through some behavioral issues he was having in a new environment/setting. She is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and how to care for them. Unfortunately, her care is not the right fit for my dog, but it is no reflection of the care and support that she gave him throughout his visits. I would recommend Kim to friends and family.

Kim was fantastic as usual! Loves on our Rizzo like her own!

Thank you for the loving care you provide to Rainy!

Such a great experience, like always!

My 4 year old dog, Sonia, had only slept away from home/me for a few nights ever (which was facility boarding & it wasn't a good experience), so it was unknown how she would do in a home environment with a resident dog. (Sonia is an only pet of a solo owner.) Kimberly was patient, methodical in her approaches, and caring with Sonia's adjustment. She even taught her a new skill that would not be available at home: stair navigation! Pictures and updates came daily - though I had limited ability to check in, I had trust that Sonia was in Kimberly's good hands. I would engage Kimberly again and highly recommend her!

Kim was so great with Rizzo! Plenty of pictures and updates were sent. Could not have been more pleased and Rizzo had a great stay!

Schedule
I am home for a majority of the day. There are the rhythms of daily living in our house which I'm sure your dog has experienced under your care. Examples, picking up groceries, attending appointments, dropping off or picking up teenagers from activities. In general dogs are never left alone for more than 3-4 hours a day cumulatively. If you would like me to care for your pet and I need to be away a little bit longer for those dates (6-8 hrs) I will clear it with you prior to booking!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My home is a traditional setup with separate rooms instead of an open floor plan. Dogs have access to all rooms except living room and dining room. I do have permanently installed, retractable gates to the kitchen and family room. This keeps the food curious out of an area where we might be prepping a meal and also allows for multiple areas during feeding time. Two important notes: 1) Due to an advancing joint condition, I no longer walk dogs during boarding time. Exercise is given in my fenced in yard. Two: I do not guarantee 100% isolation, 100% of the stay for your pup. I only accept dogs that have been socialized and can get along with other dogs for hours at a time. If your pup needs some alone time, that can be accommodated!
