Hi! I’m Samantha. I moved to Chicago in late 2018 and spent my first year here walking dogs for three different companies, while also building up a group of regular clients through Rover. In early 2019, I started walking a sweet, three-legged Black Lab named Bo and eventually began boarding him several weeks each month while his dad traveled for work. Sadly, we lost Bo in April 2021, and his passing left a big hole in my heart. Not long after, I began fostering a three-legged pittie named Abby and ended up adopting her in July 2021. When I first adopted her, my only request at the shelter was that she get along with other dogs. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case as she had a very traumatic history, so I no longer offer boarding. However, I’m still happily available for walks, drop-ins, and occasional in house stays! I can work with all different ages, handle senior care, and have helped with puppy training.

Safety, trust & environment
Every family I have worked with has been different depending on their needs. I am experienced in crate training, free roaming, or setting up boundaries to help keep animals safe. I also am familiar with all different collar/leash/harness types and feel comfortable navigating with and around dog reactive animals.

Thank you to Samantha for coming over on such short notice and taking the best care of our pup Julian for an entire day! Julian can’t be left alone so she made sure he was filled with walks and treats while we were gone. Sam was a great communicator and responsible, will definitely reach out again!

Samantha is a gem. Smart, attentive and professional, she put me at ease right off the bat. I felt 100% comfortable leaving my pooch AND my house under her care. She was respectful of my home and left it spotless, and engaged enthusiastically with Juno on a daily basis. And when a sneaky snowstorm came up, she was undaunted and still managed to give my girl the outdoor time she needed. This is a person who loves dogs and it shows. I highly recommend Samantha and I look forward to hiring her again!
My pets and I are so glad we found Samantha. She takes really good care of them and keeps me informed while I’m traveling. If you’re looking for in-home care look no further.

Schedule
I work in higher ed but have a very flexible schedule. My boss is aware that I pet sit on the side and allows me to work remotely when needed.
