“Erin has taken care of our dog on three separate occasions. Each time, we are amazed at the love and care she shows her. From giving our dog her medicine to the consideration she puts in when it’s raining, she always is excellent and communicates superbly. I cannot recommend her enough.”

“Rucha is a great sitter! She’s so attentive, caring, and reliable. When my kitties are in Rucha’s care I know they’ll enjoy some playtime and get lots of affection! On top of meeting all their care needs. Thank you!”

“Aleta and Helena were absolutely wonderful. I had complete peace of mind knowing they were dropping in and hanging out with Winston as they kept me updated with lots of photos. I highly recommend them as they truly care about your animals and I will be hiring them again and again.”

“Once again, a great experience with Karla. She sent a thorough update and plenty of pictures after every visit. My kitty takes an inhaler twice a day, and Karla always let me know how she did with it. My plans changed and she was willing to come for an extra visit with just a couple hours warning (which is not something I would ever expect, but was much appreciated). Karla's communication is great and it brings me peace knowing my kitty is in great care. I will definitely book with her again in the future.”

“We'd give more stars if we could! Emily is an awesome communicator and did an incredible job with our elderly, attitude-filled boxer and our orange cat. We had a last minute situation where we needed an extra drop in while we were out of town and Emily stepped in with no hesitation and saved the day. We will absolutely be booking again!”

“Alexandra is so wonderful with our cat, and was incredibly flexible offering to help when we had a potential travel delay that might have required an additional last-minute visit. Thank you as always, Alexandra!”

About: Hello, my name is Anna and I am excited to care for your pets! I have many years of experience working with animals, from pet-sitting in my home, neighborhood, and campus to volunteering in animal shelters. I am a third-year environmental science student at Cornell University. I have experience administering oral and topical medication to pets, have cared for senior pets, and know how to safely remove ticks. I love hiking and will make sure your energetic pup gets all the exercise they need! I have a car and am happy to bring animals along on adventures. I am a student with a flexible schedule and a car to get me and your animals to where they need to go! Overnight stays are easy for me to do and I often have time for long walks. I can and will care for your pets in any way you need me to! I can easily house sit as well and chauffeur pets to veterinary care or other appointments.
“Victoria was the picture perfect kitty sitter. She was communicative, responsible, and went out of her way to help my cats feel loved. I can tell she loves this work. We’ll definitely use her again.”

“Caterina was an absolute lifesaver! She was able to accommodate a last-minute drop-in visit for my puppy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her quick response and willingness to travel outside her normal radius to care for him. It meant so much to me to know he was in such good hands. I’m incredibly thankful for her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate care. ❤️”

“Kirsten is an exceptional cat sitter. She takes stunning photos -- my whole family has been completely awestruck by the pictures she captured of my cat. Her demeanor is warm and calm, and my shy cat took to her immediately. She follows all instructions carefully and is proactive with updates: if she knows you're anxious about something, you'll hear from her before you ever have to ask. She treats every cat in her care as if they were her own. I cannot recommend her highly enough. You're the best, Kirsten! Thank you for understanding Lady and meeting all her needs. You went above and beyond for us, and we're so grateful.”

“John took care of our cat Snowball via drop-in visits while we were away off and on for two weeks in the summer. John was excellent in every way! Before the trip, he came over to meet Snowball, asked lots of questions, and took detailed notes. He took fantastic care of her, sending detailed updates each day with photos (which my daughter loved!). As first-time cat owners, were so thankful she was in good hands. John was wonderful and we would highly recommend him! Thank you, John!”

“Gwen is really awesome and was great with our babies. She definitely made us feel comfortable going on vacation and not having to worry about a thing. I would highly recommend Gwen to anyone in need of a pet sitter. She especially came up big for us when our flight got canceled to come back home. She watched the babies for an extra day even though we didn't have her booked. Gwen was super understanding and had no problem helping us out when we needed it. Great sitter and a great person!!!”
“Dina is amazing! From the meet and greet we knew that our dogs and cat would be in the best of hands. Knowing that Dina was taking care of our pets really allowed us to enjoy our time away and her detailed reports and photos were so welcome and reassuring. Our dogs were so relaxed and happy to see Dina and even our normally, standoffish cat enjoyed Dina's visits. We would highly recommend Dina to anyone that needs help with their pets!”

About: I've cared for dogs since I was 10, including my own for 7 years and my girlfriend’s three pups of small, medium, and large breeds. I’m patient, playful, and deeply comfortable with dogs of all temperaments. Whether it’s walking, feeding, or just keeping them company, I treat every dog like family. As a Cornell student, I have soccer practice early mornings Sunday–Thursday and classes during the day. I’m available for dog walks or drop-in visits most afternoons and evenings on weekdays and very flexible Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits at your home. I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and cared for during every visit. I respect your space and follow any routines or instructions you provide.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats through pet ownership, fostering, and volunteering at an animal shelter. I personally have T1D diabetes so if your pet has it too, I am not afraid to deal with it!! I’m also a Fear Free Shelter Certified and volunteered with AnimalKind, where I learned how to safely interact with animals of different personalities, stress levels, and backgrounds. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to build trust, follow routines carefully, and make sure each animal feels comfortable and cared for. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm and reliable presence around, I’m happy to provide the care that fits their needs. I’m a Cornell student spending the summer in New York City interning for Weill Cornell Medical Center, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting, and I’m happy to work with owners to find times that fit their pet’s routine. I’m reliable, responsive, and understand the importance of consistency when caring for animals. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Through my Fear Free training and shelter experience, I’ve learned how to recognize signs of stress, respect boundaries, and create positive experiences for animals. I carefully follow feeding instructions, medication schedules, walking routines, and any special care requests. I also provide updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs my whole life—from my childhood golden retriever, to my first mini poodle in college, and now my French bulldog puppy. Having a Frenchie has taught me how to care for dogs with sensitive stomachs, skin allergies, and special needs. I cook fresh, balanced meals with real protein and veggies for every meal, and I treat every pup like my own—gentle, patient, and a little spoiled. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or home-cooked meals, I make sure each dog feels safe, loved, and completely at home. I’m an MBA student at Cornell and have classes about three times a week from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm. My boyfriend is home during the day until I return in the afternoon, so there’s always someone available to care for and walk the pups. We’re both huge dog lovers and spend most weekends at home since I usually have assignments to work on — which means plenty of time for cuddles, walks, and playtime with your furry family member. Your pup’s comfort and safety are my top priorities. I have a French bulldog with sensitive skin and allergies, so I’m extremely careful about hygiene, food, and playtime routines. I also have a bit of OCD when it comes to cleaning — my home is spotless, sanitized daily, and always pet-safe. Every pup has their own cozy, comfortable space to relax, and I can easily follow any feeding or medication instructions. Whether your dog needs fresh meals, extra attention, or a calm environment, they’ll be cared for with the same love and detail I give my own.

Rachel was phenomenal. She cared for our dog and two cats for a full week, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more personable, reliable, or genuinely kind. All three pets absolutely loved her. She didn’t just stop in — she engaged with them, played with them, and made sure each one felt comfortable and cared for. One of our cats needed daily medication, and Rachel worked closely with us to find the best delivery method. She even picked up the medication from our vet when it ran out. Beyond pet care, she fed our outdoor birds and watered our plants without us asking — such a thoughtful touch. Her schedule was perfect: a full hour (or more) every morning, another hour (or more) in the evening, plus an extra midday stop for a quick dog potty break. We felt completely at ease the entire week. We truly loved having Rachel care for our pets, and we recommend her without hesitation. John & Pamela

Aleta is so great with my timid and elderly kitty. She has very patiently gotten Mona to come out and be a bit more social over time. Also, she thinks of everything from treats to drawing the blinds during heat waves to keep my cat cool. When my return date changed abruptly, she was accommodating and supportive. A better pet sitter is not to be found!

Maria was amazing!! She was so kind and patient with my sweet (albeit difficult) cat! My cat has a bunch of health issues, and Maria did a wonderful job navigating them, including giving her meds! She kept in contact with me, sending pictures and updates that really helped put my mind at ease while I was travelling, knowing that my cat was in good hands! She was quick to respond to both my booking request and my questions, and was willing to set up a meet-and-greet with me and my cat, so that I knew she was in good hands. This is the most relaxing vacation I’ve had in years, knowing that my high-needs cat was in good hands. I will never book anybody else!!! She was so kind and patient, and my cat really liked her too! Maria did a wonderful job, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for somebody trustworthy to check in on their pet.

Gianni did a fantastic job with our cat while we were out of town. He was very reliable with his check-ins, updates, and making sure that Baloo had everything that he needed. Even better, our shy cat seemed to love Gianni and enjoy his visits. We definitely recommend him.

Due to Alex's extensive background in animal care, I felt very comfortable leaving my cat in Alex's care for drop in visits during a 9 day trip! Alex was meticulous with following the rules of Rover and had careful business practices, such as staying on platform for all communication and waiting to accept the booking until after our meet and greet went well. Alex was also meticulous with Mocha's care. I have some very complicated instructions for the care of this finicky senior kitty (special food prep, pills, tooth brushing, recording amount of food consumed) and Alex did a great job following them! As an added bonus, Alex even cleaned the floor around Mocha's food bowl without my asking! Would hire this sitter again. Thank you Alex!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
