“Joey spent over a month with my puppy, and was so wonderful in training and caring for him. They developed a great relationship because of the way Joey interacted with him. They were very communicative, flexible, responsible and trustworthy. Highly recommend to all pet owners and anyone needing an extra hand!”

“Victoria is an incredible cat sitter. Our cats require a lot of time and attention, and she handled all of their idiosyncrasies with incredible dexterity. We would highly recommend. She was able to give one of our cats both immunotherapy injections and eyedrops. She communicated well and consistently, and we always felt that our cats were in the best of hands. The best, five stars, two thumbs up, certified fresh.”

“I couldn't have asked for a better person to make drop-in visits on my two cats twice a day for a week. Karla took great care of Brutus and Olive and did everything I asked and more. My cats had never met anyone besides me before, so they were in hiding for the first few days, but Karla persisted and by the end they were (almost) friends. I appreciated the punctual reports and her messages were detailed and reassuring. I highly recommend Karla.”

“Rachel was thorough, asked great questions at our check in, and gave plenty of updates for the day and a half I was out of town. I would absolutely trust her with Tita again and highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Emily was just amazing! I didn’t have a good experience with the first one Rover a few months back and Emily made up for that and MORE! She was prompt every time, Stayed the whole time that was promised. She sent lots of pictures of my furbabies, which helped to calm my anxiety of leaving them for 5 days. She gave our kitten lots of laser pointer exercise to help him get out and about and okay time since he’s not allowed outside. She was challenged by both kitties with throw up, poop and dead bird issues and she cleaned up all messes and kept me informed of any changes and of each visit. I would highly recommend her and wish she was available for august when we leave again because I’d book her NOW!”

“Sarah is fabulous and friendly! She's helped our pets previously and we'll certainly reach out to her again in the future as such takes such good care of our sweet baby!”

“Caroline did a great job checking in on my cat daily as requested. She understood and did exactly what I wanted her to do for my cat and then communicated everything to me. I was reassured that my cat was being cared for very well which meant a lot to me. 🙏🏼 Caroline”

“Daniel was great! Our dog barks a lot when initially greeting strangers. He made her feel at ease and soon enough, they were playing fetch together. We will definitely contact him again for drop ins and house sitting of our dogs.”
About: As a pre-veterinary student and veterinary assistant, I combine professional animal care experience with my genuine love for our fur babies! I have over 700 hours of experience working in a boarding kennel and animal hospital. My responsibilities included caring for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and medical needs. Specifically, multiple daily walks, administering daily medications, following detailed feeding and care instructions, monitoring animal health and behavior, and providing enrichment to keep pets mentally and physically engaged. I have experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and animals that may be anxious or reactive. My background in veterinary medicine and current major ensure I am around animals almost every day, so I am sure to recognize changes in behavior or health. In addition to my kennel experience, I have spent years pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family. My pet-sitting experience helps me provide the individualized care and affection that pets need to feel comfortable while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if it were my own and strive to make both pets and owners feel safe and comfortable with my care. I am currently conducting independently paced research at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, which gives me a very flexible schedule. Because I set my own hours, I am able to easily incorporate pet care into my daily routine, providing me with the ability to be reliable and attentive to each pet’s individual routine and needs. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and temperaments. I am comfortable with crating, leashing, walking, feeding, administering basic medications if needed, and following any routines provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to prioritize safety, consistency, and most importantly, communication between the owner and me. I make sure doors and leashes are secure at all times, closely monitor pets during walks and outdoor time, and keep them on their normal feeding and exercise schedules. I also provide regular updates so owners can feel confident that their pets are happy and well taken care of while they are away.
About: Hi! My name is Emily and I am a research scientist at Cornell. I absolutely love working with animals, and have loved and raised dogs my entire life, including family pets and Seeing Eye puppies. I have experience with all sizes and ages, so puppies and 100+ pound dogs are no problem. I have also had cats my whole life. I have experience with pet-sitting dogs and cats in my own home and with coming to others' homes . I also love going on walks and would be able to make sure your dog will get all the exercise they need. I look forward to caring for your pets! My time in the research lab is flexible so I can do afternoon feedings and walks. I am available for house sitting services as well. I have lots of experience with house sitting and am very adaptable to your pets’ routine. They will definitely get the care they need whether through check-ins, walks, or house sitting.
“Graeme was awesome! He followed directions, asked questions if he needed any help, sent pictures of my dogs, which was nice since I missed him. Bear loves when he comes to visit!”

“I’ve had Christel watch my cat multiple times, and would book again many more. She’s so good with my pet, and is extremely communicative — I love getting her messages and knowing my cat is in good hands.”

“Rucha is a great sitter! She’s so attentive, caring, and reliable. When my kitties are in Rucha’s care I know they’ll enjoy some playtime and get lots of affection! On top of meeting all their care needs. Thank you!”

“Nadia was great! She was flexible and accommodating to my schedule. My cat can be moody, which makes me nervous to leave her, but Nadia provided me with lots of photos and updates. I came home to a happy cat”

I’m so appreciative Rossy could check in on our dog while my husband and I were out of town. She was always on time for check-in’s and provided photos and an update with each visit. It’s such a relief to have our dog in such good hands! I highly recommend Rossy!

Aleta is so great with my timid and elderly kitty. She has very patiently gotten Mona to come out and be a bit more social over time. Also, she thinks of everything from treats to drawing the blinds during heat waves to keep my cat cool. When my return date changed abruptly, she was accommodating and supportive. A better pet sitter is not to be found!

Joey was an amazing sitter!! They gave very detailed accounts of their visits, and made sure to keep me updated on anything of note. I really appreciated the thoroughness of their care and their commitment to building a relationship with my cat! Furthermore, they were extremely accommodating when I had to make last minute changes to my booking, which was a headache saved!

Gianni did a fantastic job with our cat while we were out of town. He was very reliable with his check-ins, updates, and making sure that Baloo had everything that he needed. Even better, our shy cat seemed to love Gianni and enjoy his visits. We definitely recommend him.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
