“Adriana was a huge help to me in a last minute request. She was great with the pets and it was clear they were comfortable with her from the pics she sent me. Thanks so much!”

“We recently moved and were nervous about leaving our cat and bearded dragon but Jamie did a great job of keeping us updated and sending pics. Traveling can be stressful as is and she gave us peace of mind that our babies were well taken care of. Will definitely book with her again :)”

“Maggie was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of my fur babies while we were on a family vacation. Will be rebooking and recommending her to friends and family! Please consider her!”

“Vanessa was absolutely incredible this weekend while pet sitting Tonor, Ink, Hunter, and Tux! From the moment she arrived, it was clear how knowledgeable and genuinely caring she is. With her zoology background and zookeeper experience, I felt completely confident that my crew was in the best hands possible. She kept everyone enriched, fed, hydrated, and happy and the photos she sent throughout the stay were amazing. Tonor and Ink looked relaxed and cozy, Hunter was his curious self, and Tux enjoyed every minute of attention (and treats!). Vanessa captured their personalities perfectly, and it was obvious they were comfortable, entertained, and loved the entire time. Communication was fast, clear, and consistent. She checked in often, sent Rover Cards, and made sure I always knew how things were going. I genuinely felt peace of mind the whole weekend. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pets with the same care you do but Vanessa really does. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, professional, and truly passionate about animals. We’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Dogs have always been part of my life, I truly can’t imagine a home without one! I’m the proud owner of a four-year-old poodle mix and have spent years training, walking, and learning everything I can from our amazing certified trainer to give her the best life possible. I’ve put so much care, time, and energy into understanding dog behavior, and it’s made me even more passionate about helping other pet parents feel at ease when they’re away. I’m self-employed, which means I have great flexibility in my schedule and can easily accommodate drop-in visits or walks throughout the day. Whether your dog needs a long walk to burn off energy, a quick potty break, or just some company and affection while you’re out, I’ll treat them like my own. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take time to get to know each pet’s personality, energy level, and preferences so they feel at ease in my care. I’ll follow any instructions you share (feeding, water, meds, etc.) and always send updates and photos so you know how your pup is doing while you’re away.
“I can’t recommend her enough! She took such amazing care of my dogs and truly treated them like her own. You can tell she genuinely loves animals, and my dogs absolutely adore her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were safe, loved, and well cared for while I was away. She’s reliable, caring, attentive, and always available anytime I need her. She truly goes above and beyond, and I would trust her with my dogs anytime!”

“Sarah was amazing! My cats loved her and I can tell that they had so much love and fun while I was gone. She was super communicative, trustworthy, always on schedule, and sent plenty of pictures and updates. I know my cats will be excited to see her again 🙂”

“Alison and Robert did a wonderful job pet sitting my five kitties. They are definitely pet people- my kitties felt comfortable around them right away. They were incredibly thorough, followed all of our specific instructions, and were able to successfully give my cat her heart failure medication too. I highly recommend Alison and Robert and will definitely use their services again in the future!”
“Georgianne was absolutely phenomenal! She communicated very well and kept us in the loop with every visit she made! Our dog loved her and we will absolutely be using her again! Highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for a kind person who’s very good with your fur babies!”

About: Schedule-Monday through Friday 6-2:30 I work and weekends off 🫠😁Animals have always been a part of my life growing up. Some of my family has a farm which I got to experience and learn from. I would walk a dog named Molly. She belonged to an older person who struggled with it. All 4 years of high school I was responsible for her grooming, as well as making sure she had plenty of extra love. I truly enjoyed the trust of this pet parent, and Molly that I gained from this time. I wish to continue that commitment now with the pet parents I will be able to meet on here. I truly hope to get the chance to gain your, and your pets trust by reaching there needs. -Christian Rosario My week is surrounded around taking care of my own home and animals. I have flexible hours with my job. If I am unable to be home my girlfriend is there all through the week. She only works weekends as a traveling vet assistant. On those days I am home to reach our animals and your pets needs. They will always be given attention and love. I have a fenced in back yard and two dogs of my own who are trained and help me train other dogs. Both are working emotional support dogs, as we understand they need a purpose to feel a part of the pack. Our house is big enough that no animals have to be together at any point. If this makes pet owners more comfortable and would like there pets separated to enjoy some alone time.
“Kilie did an amazing job with our babies while we were away. We had some special circumstances and she did great with everything! She was able to give them their meds and one of our shy boys came out and played which is huge! She gave our eldest lap cuddles. She was in tune with each cat and their needs. She gave us great summaries of each visit with pictures and we could tell they were well cared for when we got home. We will definitely book Kilie again!”

About: I have been a dog lover since birth. I am a certified personal trainer and tennis coach during the day. Dog walker/father 24/7. I currently work as a personal trainer and private tennis coach during the day. My schedule is managed by booking jobs on first come first serve basis. I have a small 12 pounds poodle mix named Sully. Born and raised in NYC, he is now 13 years old and loving the freedom of Syracuse. His treats are always organic and his water is always bottled. He loves a good probiotic which has kept his digestive system excellent. Safety is my biggest priority. I always watch the ground to make sure he doesn’t step on anything dangerous and I always watch my surroundings. After each walk I clean his paws with a water wipe.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs, including feeding, providing fresh water, and ensuring they get regular exercise through walks. I have looked after my friends dog on multiple occasions, taking responsibility for their daily needs and giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I’m actively looking to walk dogs as I enjoy walking them during the evening time. I’m a teacher so during school year, lm available 3 pm and onwards I am only offering dog walking service since I live in an apartment, it will be very difficult to take care of the dog here.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Syracuse
Shaz was absolutely amazing! I love how she had no problem feeding my ferals for me as well as my 4 kitties who are usually shy around strangers. The photos she sent made me feel at ease seeing my Miney-Moo enjoying some scratches and rubbing her face against whatever corner she could find. I loved seeing my Nala girl having fun and playing in the pics. My kitties looked so relaxed and content. Dante looked so cute chilling by her feet. I felt bad when I forgot to mention that Dante wheezes when he's mad. Shaz was super concerned which I appreciated her checking in and alerting me :)

Had a really smooth experience with Sierra while she checked in on my cat over the weekend! She was very patient while I worked through the new app, and super communicative and accommodating. My cat is super shy, but she managed to get her to hang out for a bit :) very prompt with updates too and was always punctual! Would love to have her visit my cat again when we are away!

Sarah was amazing with Ramsey and I would absolutely book with her again. She sent notes and pictures every day and spent lots of time playing and walking him. She was even able to stop in for an extra day when I had a travel emergency last minute. I came home to a well loved and happy puppy!

Hannah has been super with our 2 dachshunds and 3 cats. She has been pet sitting for a couple of years with daily visits along with overnight stays when we’ve gone out of town. One of our dachshunds is very timid and guarded but warmed up to her very quickly. She even visited one day when the other dachshund chewed through the water line to a toilet and flooded the bathroom. She turned off the water and then sent us videos of what happened. Could have been so much worse if it weren’t for Hannah. We highly recommend Hannah for your pet sitting needs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
