Pet care experience

Reliable, flexible, and kind

I live in Strathmore and work downtown. My absolute favorite things in life are my sons (who are amazing human beings!) and animals. Now that my sons are independent and out of the house, I enjoy being around and caring for animals. I have experience with all kinds of animals (e.g., dogs, cats, tarantulas, snakes, insects, and more). And I have had and loved dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from mini dachshunds with serious Napoleon complexes to larger-than-life Rottweilers and Great Danes. If you need a trustworthy, reliable, and affordable caregiver, feel free to reach out. :) Rate adjustments available based on financial need. 😊

Julie is amazing!!! She was so great with my dog. He is boston terrier and very excitable. She took his energy and loved on him. Plenty of walks and cuddles. She sent a ton of pictures that my friends and I loved. So communicative. Will be reaching out again.

Julie was watching our dog and feeding my senior cat for two nights, and it did not go well. I met her once briefly before we went away, and during that meeting she asked if she could bring my dog a beef trachea as a treat (she said she frequently gets them from the farmer's market.) I declined her request, as I did not want my dog having any treats or bones that she is not used to having while I'd be out of town. Upon leaving, I left very detailed instructions for the care of our dog and senior cat. I instructed her to have the dog sleep in the crate, with it covered. She did not fulfill this request, as we saw on our cameras both nights that she was not sleeping in her crate. I asked that Julie NOT go downstairs at all or clean our litter boxes, as we were only gone for two nights and we did not know her well, therefore did not want her to go all over the house. She ignored this instruction, going downstairs to clean the litter boxes and also to look for a sewing kit. (I did not know about her looking for a sewing kit until I got home and read the note she left.) She also gave our dog a treat of dehydrated liver that she brought over, which she did not ask me permission to give. The only reason I know about the liver is that when we got home, Lola was EXTREMELY SICK with diarrhea for 7 days following spending her weekend with Julie, and I had to ask for details of everything she gave her or that she could've gotten into. Lola was having accidents all over the house and was the sickest she has ever been. This was not due to stress, as Julie is not the first Rover sitter to have watched her while we were out of town. We had to take her to the Emergency vet, who told us that it is very possible the dehydrated liver upset her stomach. I do realize that it could've been something else, and I will never know what it was that caused it, but I do not believe it is a coincidence that she ignored certain requests we made and my dog ended up seriously sick. (Thankfully, after a full 7 days and $600 vet visit, she is ok now) If you are particular about your dog and your home, and expect your Rover sitter to follow your rules, I would not book Julie.

Julie was amazing! She watched our dog and 2 cats over Labor Day weekend. She stayed at our house overnight for 2 nights and treated our pets like they were her own. She kept us updated on feeding them, walking the dog, and anything else that came up. She responded promptly anytime I messaged her. I would definitely book with Iulie again! She was fantastic!!

Julie was great with Robin, we will definitely request her services again! Very responsive and sent multiple pics of Robin while we were gone. Was good to know if she was with someone who truly cared about her while we were gone.
