“Riss was absolutely wonderful with our two Havanese, Bastien and Tally! She was timely, attentive, responsible, and immediately put me at ease, plus the pups took to her immediately as well :) Tally is still a puppy and actively learning his house manners, and I was especially impressed that Riss took the initiative to work on some training exercises with him while she was here. It was clear that she was genuinely engaged with both dogs rather than simply keeping an eye on them. Riss is also warm, sociable, and incredibly easy to talk to. I felt completely comfortable leaving the boys in her care, and I would not hesitate to have her watch them again. We’re so glad we found her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, responsible, and caring sitter!”

About: Fun fact: I began dog walking/sitting at just the age of 15 in Los Angeles, where I’m originally from. The old school way: pinning flyers around my neighborhood. My first client: a Great Dane as big as me. We soon became best friends. I am attentive and adapt easily to all sorts of pets — I know when it’s time to play, time to eat, and time to mellow out. I ensure all fur babies never feel like they are alone ~ In some way, we exchange. Whether it be through conversation, music, toy time, cuddles, and more. One of my proudest moments: An extremely shy black cat who rarely allows to be touched, laid on my tummy and napped for a couple of hours, at the third sitting call. I’m currently transitioning jobs (completely remote) and have ample free time to tap into all of my side gigs. Essentially, I am super flexible at this point in time. I, naturally, am active and will take long walks daily - and I’m sure your dog does too! If your dog enjoys running, we can do that together as well! As for cats, I love cuddles and purrs - my touch is soft, and I know cat play. I am naturally very observant and detail-oriented - meaning I will adapt according to your fur baby’s comfort level, preferences, and passions. Should your pet require a smaller, enclosed space, I will pick up on that! I am attentive to needs and ensuring water is filled up, and bellies are full when the time comes. I am also aware of keeping things out of reach when I am not around.
“Alexandra is so wonderful with our cat, and was incredibly flexible offering to help when we had a potential travel delay that might have required an additional last-minute visit. Thank you as always, Alexandra!”

“Emily was just amazing! I didn’t have a good experience with the first one Rover a few months back and Emily made up for that and MORE! She was prompt every time, Stayed the whole time that was promised. She sent lots of pictures of my furbabies, which helped to calm my anxiety of leaving them for 5 days. She gave our kitten lots of laser pointer exercise to help him get out and about and okay time since he’s not allowed outside. She was challenged by both kitties with throw up, poop and dead bird issues and she cleaned up all messes and kept me informed of any changes and of each visit. I would highly recommend her and wish she was available for august when we leave again because I’d book her NOW!”

“Sarah was amazing with my dog Summer! She was super attentive to instructions I left and even picked up my packages for me and placed them inside without me asking :) she sent me sooo many photos of summer which I really appreciated and could tell summer had a great time with her!”

“Rucha was great with my cat who is very shy. My cat actually came out of hiding and went over to Rucha which is very unusual. Everything looked great when I got home. Will definitely ask her again!”

“Caterina was an absolute lifesaver! She was able to accommodate a last-minute drop-in visit for my puppy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her quick response and willingness to travel outside her normal radius to care for him. It meant so much to me to know he was in such good hands. I’m incredibly thankful for her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate care. ❤️”

“Dina is amazing! From the meet and greet we knew that our dogs and cat would be in the best of hands. Knowing that Dina was taking care of our pets really allowed us to enjoy our time away and her detailed reports and photos were so welcome and reassuring. Our dogs were so relaxed and happy to see Dina and even our normally, standoffish cat enjoyed Dina's visits. We would highly recommend Dina to anyone that needs help with their pets!”

About: As a first-year veterinary student at Cornell University, I've spent years volunteering in animal care settings, including veterinary hospitals, doggy daycares, training facilities, and animal shelters. These experiences have given me hands-on experience with pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities, while teaching me how to recognize and accommodate their individual needs. I also have two Standard Poodles that I've raised from puppies. They couldn't be more different—one is calm and gentle, while the other is energetic and always ready for adventure! Caring for dogs with such different temperaments has made me comfortable adapting to each pet's unique personality and routine. I've trained both of my dogs myself using positive reinforcement, so if you'd like, I'm happy to reinforce basic obedience or practice a few simple tricks during visits. I also groom them myself during school breaks, giving me experience with routine coat care and handling. I'm patient, attentive, and detail-oriented, and I'll tailor my care to whatever makes your pet happiest—whether that's a long walk, an active play session, exploring outside, or a quiet afternoon of companionship. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. As a first-year veterinary student, my schedule allows me to provide pet care through morning visits, lunchtime drop-ins, evening visits, and overnight stays. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet while you’re away, making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I am happy to come to your home and follow your lead to create the best experience for your pet! I can follow normal routines to keep them at ease, or create new adventures to use up their extra energy.
About: I have been caring for dogs since we got our own pet dog when I was 8. Since then, we have fostered many puppies, and I have become a volunteer raiser and sitter for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. I have lots of experience with different kinds of pet care for all kinds of different pets. I am a senior student at Ithaca College with a very light schedule this semester! I would love to spend my free time caring for your pets. I am familiar with exercising and entertaining pets, or practicing any training you may request. I also make a great snuggle buddy for your pets whether on the furniture or on the floor :)
About: I have cared for pets for many years. I have experience working in an animal shelter with dogs and cats, and have additional experience pet-sitting and caring for a variety of animals with a variety of needs- from dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and even snakes! From my experience, I have a lot of knowledge and ability to manage senior pets, pets with special/health needs, and young animals who may need more care. In addition to my pet care experience, I was raised on an inner-city farm, so I am familiar with the work, time, and care that should be devoted to animals of all kinds. I am currently a full-time college student- I have a decent amount of flexibility in my schedule and am happy to work with you based on what you and your fur babies need. Please share any specific schedule needs with me so I know how best to cater to your pet(s). I am comfortable and capable with many aspects of pet (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, reptile, etc) care- including walking, crating, feeding, administering medication, and anything else that your pet may need!

Once again, a great experience with Karla. She sent a thorough update and plenty of pictures after every visit. My kitty takes an inhaler twice a day, and Karla always let me know how she did with it. My plans changed and she was willing to come for an extra visit with just a couple hours warning (which is not something I would ever expect, but was much appreciated). Karla's communication is great and it brings me peace knowing my kitty is in great care. I will definitely book with her again in the future.

Rachel was phenomenal. She cared for our dog and two cats for a full week, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more personable, reliable, or genuinely kind. All three pets absolutely loved her. She didn’t just stop in — she engaged with them, played with them, and made sure each one felt comfortable and cared for. One of our cats needed daily medication, and Rachel worked closely with us to find the best delivery method. She even picked up the medication from our vet when it ran out. Beyond pet care, she fed our outdoor birds and watered our plants without us asking — such a thoughtful touch. Her schedule was perfect: a full hour (or more) every morning, another hour (or more) in the evening, plus an extra midday stop for a quick dog potty break. We felt completely at ease the entire week. We truly loved having Rachel care for our pets, and we recommend her without hesitation. John & Pamela

Aleta is so great with my timid and elderly kitty. She has very patiently gotten Mona to come out and be a bit more social over time. Also, she thinks of everything from treats to drawing the blinds during heat waves to keep my cat cool. When my return date changed abruptly, she was accommodating and supportive. A better pet sitter is not to be found!

Joey was an amazing sitter!! They gave very detailed accounts of their visits, and made sure to keep me updated on anything of note. I really appreciated the thoroughness of their care and their commitment to building a relationship with my cat! Furthermore, they were extremely accommodating when I had to make last minute changes to my booking, which was a headache saved!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
