About: As a first-year veterinary student at Cornell University, I've spent years volunteering in animal care settings, including veterinary hospitals, doggy daycares, training facilities, and animal shelters. These experiences have given me hands-on experience with pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities, while teaching me how to recognize and accommodate their individual needs. I also have two Standard Poodles that I've raised from puppies. They couldn't be more different—one is calm and gentle, while the other is energetic and always ready for adventure! Caring for dogs with such different temperaments has made me comfortable adapting to each pet's unique personality and routine. I've trained both of my dogs myself using positive reinforcement, so if you'd like, I'm happy to reinforce basic obedience or practice a few simple tricks during visits. I also groom them myself during school breaks, giving me experience with routine coat care and handling. I'm patient, attentive, and detail-oriented, and I'll tailor my care to whatever makes your pet happiest—whether that's a long walk, an active play session, exploring outside, or a quiet afternoon of companionship. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. As a first-year veterinary student, my schedule allows me to provide pet care through morning visits, lunchtime drop-ins, evening visits, and overnight stays. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet while you’re away, making sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I am happy to come to your home and follow your lead to create the best experience for your pet! I can follow normal routines to keep them at ease, or create new adventures to use up their extra energy.
“Simply put, Claudia was an amazing cat sitter for us. She kept us well updated, responded quickly, sent many photos, and really got to know our four cats' personalities and quirks! Our babies have never been so happy with a sitter. They enjoyed Claudia's company and were grateful for the attention she gave them. We have never seen them befriend someone so quickly! We will absolutely hire Claudia again. Traveling was made easier knowing that the cats were in such good hands.”

I’m available for dog walking and drop-in visits or cat care while you are away. While I’m newer to caring for dogs professionally, I’m responsible, patient, and comfortable following an owner’s instructions closely. I enjoy walking and being outdoors and would be happy to help keep your dog active and give them some company during the day. I have a flexible schedule and take being trusted with someone’s pet and home seriously. Whether I’m checking in on your cat or taking your dog for a walk, you can expect dependable, attentive care and good communication. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits easily into my day. I’m generally available for daytime walks, drop-in visits, and cat care throughout the week, and I can often accommodate different schedules as needed. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. That includes feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box care, playtime, and companionship. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s needs, and will communicate with you while you’re away. I am also open to pet visits to my house. I do not have a fenced yard but I do have backyard access.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, and dogsitted for family and friends as well. I am an easy going, attentive and caring person, who will never leave the dogs side! They are in good company with me I’m home the entire day, and wherever I go, the dog goes with me! To the park, walk to the supermarket, to the beach, coffee dates, or simply just relaxing at home. They will always be in good company and constantly attended to! I have a big house very suitable for any size dog, including German Shepards! (I used to have one) I also have a large beautiful garden/ courtyard in which they can safely play with no traffic or problems, and a park right next door! I go running daily so if they’re active dogs they can join me with great pleasure! Or just a long leisurely walk, I’m quite an active person and anywhere I go the dog comes with me!

About: I’ve dedicated my life to caring for animals and helping their families feel confident while they’re away. I’ve many years of hands-on experience with animals of all ages, sizes, personalities, and needs. What began with a love of caring for my own pets and helping family and friends grew into professional pet sitting goals. Working for Rover is a great way to care for pets through their trusted brand until I get my own small business going, on top of my rescue and advocacy efforts. My experience goes well beyond basic feeding and walks. I’ve cared for puppies, energetic young dogs, senior pets, large breeds, cats, multiple-pet households, and animals requiring extra patience or special attention. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed care instructions, and caring for injured or recovering animals, so you can feel reassured that your pet’s individual needs will be carefully followed. I’ve also cared for horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and other farm animals, livestock and more! Over the years, I’ve helped animals that were lost, injured, neglected, or simply needed someone to care, including personally rescuing and nursing animals back to health. I've organized and run fundraising events for non-profit animal organizations, volunteered much of my time at shelters and behavioral therapy and training spaces. I have a special place in my heart for animals who need an advocate, and I’m committed to providing them with patient, compassionate support. I believe excellent pet care means noticing the little things. I pay close attention to behavior, body language, appetite, routines, and changes that could indicate a pet isn’t feeling like themselves. I take time to learn each animal’s personality and provide the affection, exercise, playtime, patience, or quiet companionship they need to feel safe and comfortable while their family is away. I also keep families informed so they can enjoy greater peace of mind throughout their time apart. I understand the trust involved in inviting a pet sitter into your home. I treat every client’s home, belongings, privacy, and personal space with the utmost respect, striving to leave your home just as you left it—or better. You can feel confident knowing your pets are receiving personalized, attentive care and your home is in responsible hands. I’m currently completing my Pet First Aid and CPR certification, insured and bonded through Rover (as well as having my own insurance through PCI), and committed to continuing my pet-care education. Whether I’m caring for a rambunctious puppy, a senior who needs a gentler pace, or a pet who misses their person, my goal is to provide dependable, safe, and compassionate care tailored to each animal while giving you the reassurance you deserve. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily life and something I intentionally make time for. My priority is providing dependable, attentive care for all animals entrusted to me. I plan my days carefully around each pet’s established routine, including feeding times, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, companionship, and any special instructions their family provides. I understand how important consistency can be, especially for senior pets, puppies, pets taking medication, or animals who may feel anxious when their family is away. Because caring for animals is a priority in my schedule rather than an afterthought, I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve. I also allow time for updates and photos so you can feel connected to your pets and confident that they’re happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Cayuga Heights
Victoria was great with our three cats! She was very communicative and left detailed notes about how each visit went so we were assured in knowing the cats were getting so much care, attention, and play time while we were away. We would definitely book with her again!

John has watched my cat twice now, and he's been wonderful both times. We did a meet & greet beforehand, which made everything smooth. He's super thorough and communicative — always on time, sends lots of photos and updates, and even asks before doing anything he's unsure about. He doesn't just do the basics (food, water, litter box); he goes the extra mile, like vacuuming up stray litter and playing with my cat. My cat is usually shy, but he warmed up to John quickly. Reliable, careful, and genuinely caring. Highly recommend!

Karla took the time to make sure our 16 yr old senior cat was comfortable and cared for during each drop-in visit. Just keeping up with the litterbox (he goes A LOT) was a task- and it was nice and clean. The updates and photos were greatly appreciated and helped us feel connected while we were away. We couldn't have asked for better care and our cat was happy and relaxed when we returned home. Would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate care. Many thanks Karla! 🐱 🐾

Rachel was phenomenal. She cared for our dog and two cats for a full week, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more personable, reliable, or genuinely kind. All three pets absolutely loved her. She didn’t just stop in — she engaged with them, played with them, and made sure each one felt comfortable and cared for. One of our cats needed daily medication, and Rachel worked closely with us to find the best delivery method. She even picked up the medication from our vet when it ran out. Beyond pet care, she fed our outdoor birds and watered our plants without us asking — such a thoughtful touch. Her schedule was perfect: a full hour (or more) every morning, another hour (or more) in the evening, plus an extra midday stop for a quick dog potty break. We felt completely at ease the entire week. We truly loved having Rachel care for our pets, and we recommend her without hesitation. John & Pamela

Aleta is so great with my timid and elderly kitty. She has very patiently gotten Mona to come out and be a bit more social over time. Also, she thinks of everything from treats to drawing the blinds during heat waves to keep my cat cool. When my return date changed abruptly, she was accommodating and supportive. A better pet sitter is not to be found!

Joey was an amazing sitter!! They gave very detailed accounts of their visits, and made sure to keep me updated on anything of note. I really appreciated the thoroughness of their care and their commitment to building a relationship with my cat! Furthermore, they were extremely accommodating when I had to make last minute changes to my booking, which was a headache saved!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
