“Kaylee F was a great choice to care for my cat Hughie. We were going out of town to visit family on short notice and she was a huge help. She provided Hughie with playtime, companionship and treats and made sure he always had fresh water and food and treats. She was kind and thoughtful.”

“Karla did an excellent job taking care of Lucas. She was able to get him to slowly trust her and I could see in the photos his slowly letting down his guard. She always was willing to help out if he got sick. I appreciated the peace of mind with having her care for him.”

“Georgia was so wonderful to our big orange cat, Jameson. She’s reliable and consistent. She updated us and sent pictures everyday, and we came home to an adorable polaroid pic of him left on our counter! Will absolutely book with her again :)”

“John was great with my two kitties! Always had detailed summaries of their visits which was amazing! It’s hard to find people who are reliable. Great experience overall!!”

“Alexandra checked in every day, sent me photos of every visit and even marked to let me know if he’d used the litter box. My cat seems to have liked playing and getting pets from her, so kitty approved 👍”

About: Hello! Growing up my family always had dogs and my favorite thing to do is brush them. I’ve been dog sitting consistently since high school. I have experience with large reactive dogs, so whether you have an angel or a problem child Ive got plenty of love and patience for them:) I have one kitty at home and no dogs. I tried walking the cat but she’s determined to stay indoors so here I am! I’m happily self employed! That means my schedule can be whatever it needs to be. No time is off limits. But I do have a special place in my heart for morning walks because they start my day on the right foot. I will follow your instructions to a T! Nobody knows your pet better than you do, so to keep them happy and safe I will defer to your instructions.
About: I have cared for pets for many years. I have experience working in an animal shelter with dogs and cats, and have additional experience pet-sitting and caring for a variety of animals with a variety of needs- from dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and even snakes! From my experience, I have a lot of knowledge and ability to manage senior pets, pets with special/health needs, and young animals who may need more care. In addition to my pet care experience, I was raised on an inner-city farm, so I am familiar with the work, time, and care that should be devoted to animals of all kinds. I am currently a full-time college student- I have a decent amount of flexibility in my schedule and am happy to work with you based on what you and your fur babies need. Please share any specific schedule needs with me so I know how best to cater to your pet(s). I am comfortable and capable with many aspects of pet (cat, dog, rabbit, chicken, reptile, etc) care- including walking, crating, feeding, administering medication, and anything else that your pet may need!
About: I have always had a passion and love for animals of all kinds and have several years of experience in personal pet care. I currently have a free roam bunny of my own so I bring a unique ability to provide care for small pets as well. Additionally, I have grown up with large dogs (newfoundlands) in my house from a young age and I am comfortable taking care of dogs of any size. Along with this, I have cared for dogs with varying energy and exercise needs. Furthermore, I have experience taking care of older dogs and have worked in the vet profession as a vet assistant. I believe this experience provides me with a more in depth understanding of just how important pets are to our lives and that no two pets are the same. Providing personalized, professional and high quality care is my main goal. I am a graduate student studying at LUC who is living in Chicago and available to walk dogs, perform drop in checks and provide attentive care to your pets throughout the week! Providing safe, fun and proper care for your pets is my main focus. Ensuring that your pet has a positive experience during outings or times of care is important to me. I make sure to follow all instructions provided to me by clients, as well as adhering to general traffic and safety rules when walking. Due to my experience in the vet profession and personal experiences with animals, I understand that not all pets enjoy the company of other animals therefore I make sure to keep a safe distance from other walkers with dogs.
About: I have been caring for dogs since we got our own pet dog when I was 8. Since then, we have fostered many puppies, and I have become a volunteer raiser and sitter for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. I have lots of experience with different kinds of pet care for all kinds of different pets. I am a senior student at Ithaca College with a very light schedule this semester! I would love to spend my free time caring for your pets. I am familiar with exercising and entertaining pets, or practicing any training you may request. I also make a great snuggle buddy for your pets whether on the furniture or on the floor :)
“Nicole was awesome! My kitten adored her. She played with him every visit and also helped problem solve when his water fountain broke. I felt so at ease knowing that he was in her care (and I think my cat was very at ease too!). She sent the sweetest pictures each time and gave me comprehensive updates. Thank you Nicole!!”

“We can not say enough about Madison! If you are looking for someone to check in on your 4 legged best friend and treat them like their own, then Madison is the one! She is 100% dedicated to taking care Baxter during the day while we are at work. Takes him out to potty, playtime outside and/or inside, even a little bit of training and back out for another potty break before leaving him in his crate. Her report cards and pictures are so detailed about their time together and any helpful tips or information about Baxter. You can tell she has a true love for our furry pup! Baxter just loves her and we can’t imagine having anyone else! 🐶❤️🐾”

“Kaylee did a GREAT job taking care of our kitties while we were away. The daily reports are a terrific tool to keep us up to date on the daily visits and the photos were a wonderful bonus. Everything was in great shape when we returned, the kitchen was neat and tidy, and both kitties were happy to see us. We were very pleased with the service Kaylee provided and look forward to having Aaron and Kaylee pet sit for us again in the future.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, with different energy levels and needs for decades. I’ve volunteered for rescues and fostered puppies and seniors. I am comfortable administering meds, giving baths, working on manners, caring for reactive pups, and will go out of my way to meet your dog’s needs. My flexible schedule gives me plenty of time for long walks and playing with pups on both weekdays and weekends (yes, I am very lucky). I will follow your instructions carefully to make sure that your pet is happy and safe. A pet’s safety is always my number one priority.
“Kate was amazing to our cat Curry! It was such a relief to receive photos and little comments of how the day went with him. She even took him for a walk with his leash. Kate was very responsible with our apartment also. We will definitely book Kate again.”

About: I am a true animal lover!I have a genuine passion for all animals, and I truly believe they deserve love and respect, especially when their families are away. I currently volunteer at the Ithaca SPCA, where I walk dogs every Sunday. This experience has not only deepened my love for animals but has also taught me the importance of providing each pet with individual attention and care. I understand that every animal has its own personality and needs, and I strive to cater to those while ensuring they feel safe and loved. When you choose me as your animal sitter, you can rest assured that I will treat your pets as if they were my own. I will provide them with the same respect, love, and attention they are used to, so they can feel comfortable and happy while you’re away. Taking care of animals truly brings me so much joy and I am beyond happy to make the time that is necessary to take care of your sweet pets. I currently have no pets living in my home, but have a few feline friends that frequent my apartment. I know that a pet is as important as a family member and holds such a special place in the lives of it's owner. I make sure to provide all necessary attention, love and nurturing to a pet when needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
