About: I live in Grand Rapids and work for Godfrey-Lee Public Schools! I am a big time animal lover! I have a sweet puppy named Magnolia who loves to spend time with other dogs of all kinds! I am working full-time, but am very open on the weekends and after 6pm on mon-thu. If you will be gone for a weeknight or full weekend, I’m your person for sitting! And I’m always happy for an amazing evening walk on the weekdays and any walk on the weekends! I don’t work fridays! I have lived with animals my entire life and fostered many cats and a dog! Currently, I live with a cat and help my family with their animals as much as I can!
“Claire did such a great job! She was very communicative, friendly and helpful in taking care of my senior pup for a day visit. Would highly recommend her!”

About: I've loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with dogs and cats, helping care for the pets of friends and family, and raising my own dog, Gus, have given me experience with feeding, walking, playtime, and maintaining daily routines. Whether they're big or small, I genuinely love getting to know each pet's unique personality and making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a teacher, I bring patience, responsibility, and strong communication to everything I do. I'll care for your pet as if they were my own and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I am a teacher, who is available all summer, to walk, care for, and feed your lovable pets! -24 hour care -7 days a week I'm happy to care for pets either in your home or welcome them into my own. I know every pet has different needs, so I'll follow their normal routine for feeding, walks, playtime, rest, and any special instructions you provide. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where your pet feels at ease. Whether I'm caring for them in your home or mine, I'll treat them like family and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

About: At a young age, I began to understand and care for our pets and those of friends and family members. I’ve learned how to be patient, kind, and active in order to provide the best care for dogs of various ages and sizes. Living in an apartment now post college, I’ve quickly realized how much I miss the joy and love a dog can bring. I would be incredibly honored to care and provide the most love to your furry family members! I do have a hybrid work schedule but it does come with flexibility to work around any at home requirements. I’ll typically be out of town Monday through Thursday, and have Friday through Sunday available at home. If given enough advance notice, I can manage my schedule to fit around your pets schedule. My work events can change weekly, so planning ahead of time is essential. When I’m not on the road, I work from home and have the ability to care for pets around the clock. My apartment complex is pet friendly, and there are many dogs that live throughout the building. There is an open grass area where many of them do their business, but I do prefer to walk around the block to give your dog more to sniff and space to choose where they’d like to “go”. There are also many local parks that I enjoy going to for little adventures! Since I will likely be working from home while caring for your pet, I will be able to provide 24 hour care and understand their needs throughout the day. Over the weekends, this will also be provided, as I typically stay home and go out around the area locally only.

“We always know Millie is in good hands with Hannah. Our dog is a little weird and definitely has nervous energy, but Hannah handles it like a pro with excellent updates and great communication on how the visit went.”

“Maelee was great. She came to meet us and our dogs ahead of time. We only needed a drop in visit, but I would hire her again in a heartbeat! Very nice and had patience introducing herself to the pups!!!”

About: I’m a dog mom and have always had dogs growing up. I tend to hover when we go for walks or at the park just because I’m protective. I will protect the babies at all cost. I know more signs to look for and no dog of any size or temperament will scare me away. They all deserve love I currently work a typical 10-5 job during the week and some hours on the weekend. But I’ll always make sure your pet is taken care of before work and I do get breaks and can let them during that time. I keep an eye on them and my surroundings at all times. They never leave my sight. They will get plenty of exercise and attention.
“Ty is so great with all of our different fur babies. I was so grateful for his help while we were away! From very timely check-ins, to great picture updates, and going above and beyond each day, Tyler was an important part to the success of our family vacation! Our dog, 3 cats, 2 pet rats, and a tank full of goldfish were in kind and thoughtful hands every day! Highly recommend!”

About: I have cared for animals since I can remember- I grew up on a farm and my first ever job was at a pet store where we had extensive education about animal behavior and nutrition. I started fostering animals after college and while I don't do that full time anymore - cats and dogs always seems to find their way to our house when in need. I have done dog walking and house/ cat sitting on and off for friends and friends of friends for years and I always go out of my way to find more animals to cuddle. This gig seems like the best way to do that! I work 12 hour shifts only a couple days a week so I have many free days for pet care. I am home all the days I'm not working and can spend it with furry friends! I have a fenced in back yard and tons of walkable space near my house for plays and exercise for your baby. I am good at going with the flow of whatever the fur baby's energy is but I am also great at following a routine for your baby as well.

About: I’ve fostered a few pets and have been involved with animals all throughout my life. I have a big dog myself (my best friend) and so I can handle larger dogs, but also little and medium ones too! I can walk your dog, bring them to the park and just hang out! Im working part time currently, so I have time when off work to spend quality time with your furry friend(s). My schedule currently is not super consistent, so days can be kinda wonky on when I can help out, but I have time basically everyday before and after work if I’m working. I have a fenced yard, it’s not super big but if we need more space going on walks and to the park is always fun! I have a dog, a cat, and a tortoise at home so I have experience caring for all sorts of animals, and of all different sizes and personalities. I’m hoping to start volunteering at the animal shelter once they open up their volunteering! For me, spending time with animals has always been a huge passion for me and I’m excited to meet your fur baby!
“Couldn’t be happier with the way Holly handled the drop-in visits for our dogs. She shared photos and updates after each visit and it was very comforting. I could tell the dogs enjoyed her visits. Would absolutely book again!”
About: I have had animals my whole life (cats and dogs) and would love to help care for yours in any way I can. I work from home unless otherwise scheduled (which I will know in advance) so I can be very flexible in that respect. I aim to help care for your animals with compassion, respect, and fun! I am available during the day and evenings all week unless otherwise stated on my Rover calendar and/or in messages. I would love to get the chance to meet your furry friend!! I am able to care for your pets in any way that is necessary. Walking, feeding, playing, cleaning, and more! I don't know much about medications, but I am a quick learner and would be agreeable to learn from you and help if needed. I volunteer at a cat shelter and have a cat and dog of my own, so I do understand the need for good care!
“Kelly did great with a drop in visit with my dogs. Asha is a senior lab with some health issues and Nala is very anxious but they both seemed happy and relaxed. Kelly sent pictures and updates and I would definitely hire her again.”

“Katie is truly a star sitter! We scheduled 3 drop-in visits for our 5 year old golden retriever and they went off without a hitch. Katie followed all our care instructions, took pictures and gave updates, and even took him on a walk and brought in some packages on the front porch to avoid them getting rained on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I’ve taken care of animals my entire life. My family has always both cats and dogs in the house. I have a lot of experience with multiple different breeds! Im in school currently, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I have classes during the week, but they range from 2-5 hours so they are not an all-day time constraint. I know how to make a home safe for pets. I‘ve spent my entire life making sure there’s nothing my pets can accidentally harm themselves with, including plants, open doors/windows, temperature, water availability, electric hazards, and more.
“Thank you so much for this last-minute coverage & trying your hardest to help my lil guy even when I wasn’t available. Sherlock likes you so, I hope to work with you in the near future again!”
About: I’ve owned pets my whole life, worked at my local animal shelter, and own my own rescue pup. She has taught me the biggest lesson on care and compassion! I’ve cared for senior dogs and new puppies. I am very active and like to keep myself and my pets entertained! I am a school psychotherapist with a very flexible schedule and summers off :) I like to stay busy, so I try to take on fun side quests when possible! I have a fenced in backyard, I live in a very safe, pet-loving, neighborhood, and my own dog to keep your pets entertained! With my own pet in mind, I would not put either animal in an unsafe position.
“I appreciate Alyssa’s conscientious services very much. Her report cards and fun pictures do such a good job of keeping me in touch with my cat’s condition and how well he is doing. She definitely understands my cat when he tries to communicate with her. It is great to have such peace of mind when I am away from home.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Grand Rapids
Katie was fantastic with our sweet Loki! He warmed up to her almost instantly, and she did a great job communicating with my partner and I the whole time we were gone. This was the first time Loki has not been watched by someone in our family, and under her watch he was totally fine! We will definitely be repeat clients :-)

We absolutely loved having her care for our puppy, Oliver! She was kind, reliable, and took such great care of him during her drop-in visits. The updates and photos always made our day, and it was clear that Oliver was happy and comfortable with her. Knowing he was in such good hands gave us so much peace of mind. We would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her!

Lauren was absolutely amazing with our dog and cats!! I couldn't recommend her enough! She consistently updated us when she visited with them, sent photos, and gave them lots of love and treats :)) I know they had a blast with her and I'll absolutely book her in the future for other trips ❤️

I had a great experience with our McKenzie! She dropped in to spend time with my puppy Barrett, and it was clear right away how comfortable and natural she is with dogs. She gave my pup plenty of attention, playtime, and care, which made a big difference in keeping him happy and stimulated while we were away. She was reliable and communicative! The best Rover experience I’ve had. I had peace of mind knowing Barrett was in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with her routinely again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and great with dogs.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Grand Rapids with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
