About: Hi! I am a junior at GVSU studying Radiation Therapy. I have pet sat and dog walked for family and friends for years. I’ve taken care of dogs ranging from nervous chihuahuas to chunky Rottweilers! I’ve also cared for many cat personalities too. I currently have 2 five year old Guinea pig girls, and my roommate has a Russian tortoise! I have a lot of time available, and would love to assist your family! As a busy college student- I actually have plenty of time to stay in someone’s home as I can study! I have scheduled classes 10am-3pm Tues, Wed, and Noon-2pm Thurs. I can be flexible depending on your needs. When caring for an animal in a clients home I want to understand the animals personality, needs, and quirks. I love playing with animals, giving them affection, or just being in their presence. I make sure your pet/s have plenty bathroom breaks, constant clean water, fed at appropriate times, and feel loved. I’m happy to abide by oddly specific instructions, my own animals require some silly requests :-) Every animal has different levels of trust, and I am always patient to gain that trust and not expect it. Colene did a wonderful job this past weekend with our fourteen-year-old, 50-lb, mixed breed pup Brooklyn. Brooklyn can be a finicky eater now, in her old age, and has some arthritis that makes getting up and going out a bit harder for her than it used to be. She enjoys it once she gets up, but it can be a struggle to convince her to get up and go out. But Colene gently encouraged her, and Brooklyn ate her meals and took walks during her two-night stay, which doesn't sound like much if you have a puppy, but is really excellent with an elderly dog. He was flexible with our travel schedule, and went above and beyond by taking care of other tasks we were struggling with. The dogs clearly loved him—and his dog, Pig! Emily was great!! We were gone for 8 days and she stayed at our house and took amazing care of our dog, Zoey, our cat, Lewis, and our home.
