“Kate did an amazing job! She took care of our Hemi cat and followed the directions well. She was very polite and took pictures and videos every time she came by. She knows animals and knows how to take care of them. I highly recommend Kate for your animal sitting needs!”

About: I have taken care of and been around pets my whole life. I grew up with a dog for a short time and two cats. Those cats are now 16 and 17 so I have learned to adapt to their dietary needs as well as administer different medications they may need. I also adopted a senior kitty about a year ago who also has belly and GI issues so I have learned to take care of that. I have pet sat for many friends and family members. I enjoy taking dogs on walks to playing with cats! I currently work part time at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital! I work 2-4 days a week depending so my schedule is varied. I am more than willing to switch around my schedule to help watch some furry friends ! With my own cat personally, I take time each day to entertain her and play with her weather that means we go for a little walk or brush her. I am very cautious about the types of plants, clearers, and objects I have around that may be harmful to pets.
“First time using River and got so lucky with Melissa. We booked kinda last minute but she was super flexible and came over to meet our cats the next day. She recognized my older cat wasn’t eating much and made sure to put food out to ensure she got nutrition. She was super sweet and I know our kitties got plenty of interaction and play time. It gave us such peace of mind to know Melissa was watching our girls. If we need a sitter in the future, I would definitely reach out to her.”

“I am so glad we found Lauren! She has been such a blessing to our dogs. We are always looking forward to her report cards of how they did and appreciate her clear communication. It’s very apparent she treats her clients like they were her own!”

“Jasmine is wonderful and highly recommended. My puppy Teddy has adopted her as one of his people. My shy guy doesn't quickly adapt to many humans but he looks forward to Jasmine's visits each week. 5 Stars for sure!”

“Alexandria checked in on our two golden retrievers and was great! She was communicative, on time, and took good care of our pups! Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Holly Jean was wonderful! She sent me detailed updates about how her drop in visit went. She followed all my instructions perfectly. She was communicative during the booking process and did not hesitate to reach out if she had any further questions. I felt like my cats were well cared for with her!”

“Hannah dealt with a lot this last stay, and she handled it all confidently, with grace and a little humor. First she found fleas on a dog (then both dogs, ugh), then my older dog was choking and Hannah knew immediately what to do to dislodge the object (a blueberry!), and lastly, my younger dog ended up getting sick to her stomach multiple times. Thank you Hannah for handling all of this, you always go above and beyond. I can’t thank you enough!”

“Lauren had great communication and flexibility. I came home to no messes and 2 happy girls! Would definitely recommend and will use again in the future if needed.”

“Our German Shepherd loves Kelsey! Anytime I’m out of town for work she lets him out for potty and play. I love getting photos and she is always responsive and on time. Thanks Kelsey!”

About: I've pet sat on and off for neighbors since I was a kid and grew up with dogs and cats in my own home. My childhood dog was the sweetest pitbull so I don't have any preconceived notions about any breed I love them all! I'm currently in real estate photography so I do shoots on and off during the day so if planned I can do stop ins and walks throughout the day. But for longer pet care I can do overnights on weekends. I'm very gentle with all animals but I also know how to handle difficult situations very well. It's very important for a pet owner to know how to deal with aggression/fights, sickness, running from the house, etc. and I've dealt with all of this and more.
About: I've been passionate about caring for animals my entire life and come from a family of dedicated pet lovers. Over the past 9+ years, I've provided reliable pet care for friends, family, and neighbors, gaining experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I take the time to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. As the owner of a senior dog, I have firsthand experience caring for older pets and understand the patience, attention, and specialized care they often require. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with companionship, I'm committed to following their routine and providing individualized care. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I pride myself on being dependable, attentive, and communicative, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing compassionate, trustworthy care while keeping you updated with photos and messages during your pet's stay. I would be honored to care for your pet and look forward to providing them with a safe, loving, and stress-free experience. I work for home 5 days a week with a flexible schedule! I’m available for walks/drop ins before work, on my lunch break or after! Rules that are set in your household/on walks for your pet are the rules that I will follow. Additionally, I’m a triple checker on everything I do for my pet and same goes for yours.
“Leah is amazing!!! Communication is awesome and she’s beyond flexible!! Been booking with her continuously and couldn’t be happier with her service!!!”

About: I used Rover and loved it! Now, I am opening my home, yard (and next door park), to other dogparents. How can we care for your pup(s)? I work from home full time and have a flexible schedule based around events and site visits. Your pups will have supervision, fun, and lots of snuggles if they’d like. I am a German Shepherd mom. I have watched my family member’s pets before and have a crate from when my girl was a pup. My son loves animals and helps care for them all. This was his idea (and he affectionately calls this endeavor “Brayden’s Amazing Dog Boarding”. We treat pups like family but our two story, fenced in home has plenty of space for us to give visitors whatever kind of engagement or isolation they prefer.
About: I’ve become a certified dog lover since rescuing my own pup about two years ago. I’d love to show your dog the same care and level of attention that I show my guy. I do work full time, but I’m available for a walk or two in the evenings during the week, or all day Saturday and Sunday. I’d like to think that I’m perceptive and safe when it comes to walking your dog. Head on a swivel so I can identify potential situations, looking out for cars and pedestrians alike. I think I’m also good at noticing when an animal might be a little hesitant or scared. I’m always patient and kind.
“Oh my goodness, amazing! It’s clear she is an animal lover and caretaker. The thoughtful updates on what the kitties were up to and what she did during her time at the check in were so helpful and made me feel so at ease. Will DEFINITELY rebook. Thank you SO much Moira!!!”

“Brenna was AMAZING! She was very responsive, and followed every instruction despite my limited communication while being out of town. I will definitely book with her again!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
