“Tyler came in clutch with a prompt response when I had last-minute work plans pop up, and he handled my short notice instructions with ease. His level of care and communication is unmatched. I highly recommend Tyler to anyone seeking top notch care and peace of mind!”

“I left my dog, Theo, with Kelsey and Forrest for a few hours, and definitely plan on using them again in the future! They were very accommodating, and facilitated a meet-up beforehand, so that Theo could get comfortable with them and their space before his stay. When I dropped him off, he didn’t even look back! Kelsey and Forrest are very trustworthy and obviously animal lovers.”

“The dictionary defines the word remarkable as, worthy of being or likely to be noticed especially as being uncommon or extraordinary. However Willow and I define it as Katherine. She is good with keeping you updated, time management of walk to playtime, and her pictures of your pup will leave you with a smile!!”

“Brian was very easy to work with and did a great job. He did a meet and greet with our dogs beforehand to make sure they had his scent before the visit. This was our first time using rover and we really appreciated him for making the whole process a lot less worrying.”

“Suzanne was very responsive. I loved the daily pictures! She took good care of my babies. I appreciated that she took initiative on things like vacuuming and taking out the garbage without me having to ask. I felt my home was well taken care of. She was also very flexible when I had to extend my trip plans. Overall I would recommend her for cat sitting!!”

“Kate was such an amazing sitter for my cat. If I could rate her 10 stars I would. She provided detailed updates and shared photos from every visit. 100% recommend!”

“Molly did a tremendous job caring for our cat while on vacation. She has been friendly, communicative, professional, and reliable. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Kim is the absolute best, leaving my pup is very sad but I feel comforted knowing Kim is going to be checking in on her. Plus, the highlight of my day is the little notes Kim leaves along with pictures of my sweet Suggie!! I can't thank Kim enough for being so reliable and trustworthy!”

About: Since I was five years old there’s always been a dog in my house. Currently I have a 7 year old rescue French bulldog named Lady. She came to us with multiple medical concerns and I feel very comfortable providing attention and care to dogs! I have experience dog sitting for multiple friends and I am looking to branch out. I’m currently at home full time and am able to have a flexible schedule to meet pets’ needs! Our dog Lady likes to go to our apartment dog run a few times a day. With the summer heat and her short snout, she can’t go for long walks, but she loves an afternoon nap. During this time I would be able to spend some solo time on a nice walk with another dog if they wanted! We have a fenced in dog run at the apartment and grassy areas nearby to explore. Our dog Lady loves company and playing - Especially with all her toys! We do have a crate for Lady when we leave the house. Dogs are allowed on the couch and on the bed. We have a long hallway that’s perfect for playing fetch too.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats all my life within my own family as well as being trusted to watch over friends and family pets as well. This includes dogs of all sizes, medical needs, senior care, etc. I am able to be home to give your pet the attention and frequent potty breaks they may need and can provide frequent updates and photos while you’re away. I look forward to connecting! I am currently working from home only part time and would be able to watch over your pet in the home all hours of the day and week. I have a friendly dog at home that gets along great with others. I have a yard and would be able to take your dog out leashed and for walks as it is unfenced at this time. I can definitely crate your dog if needed, let them roam around if that’s what you’re comfortable with, provide medication as needed, etc.
“Kaitlyn took excellent care of our needy, high energy kitty! She was a great communicator and very thorough with her care of Howie. She provided him with tons of attention & we had great peace of mind that he was in good hands. We would absolutely book her again!”

About: I have extensive experience with caring for dogs from puppies to senior age dogs. I also have experience with fostering and volunteering at animal shelters. I work remotely and have a semi flexible schedule, I am able to drop in or walk in the morning, day, or evening on most days I treat any pet as if it were my own with love and patience. Happy to walk fast or slow with plenty of stops to smell the roses!
“Sara was wonderful with little Theia! She was attentive, kind, and able to schedule a visit in a short time span! Will definitely stay in contact for the future.”

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs since childhood. My friends, family, and co-workers have trusted me to care for their fur babies! I have a senior pittie with reactive/aggressive behavior, so I do have experience and empathy towards that! I work full time Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5pm but can drop in after work or later in the evening as well. Friday-Sunday are my more flexible days! I fully respect the owner’s schedule for their pet and will follow whatever instructions are needed to ensure your pet is safe and cared for properly. I would ask the same for my own!
“James very obviously cares about animals and is very knowledgeable about dogs. He handled my large dog with ease. I feel like my doggo had a great time with James, honestly I think my dog was a little disappointed when I got home because he enjoyed his time with James so much. Would recommend.”

“Maelee has done such an amazing job taking care of our Corgi, Benzie! She sends me detailed updates about how she cared for him and lots of pictures of him running and playing so I know he’s in good hands!”

“Beth is great! She took care of my old dog last summer and has done great with taking care of my new dog a couple of times already this year! She puts in the extra effort to really take care of my dog, play with him, snuggle and just give him attention! I really recommend Beth!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Grand Rapids
The main thing we appreciate is Jenn’s intuition. Does your cat need love and scritches? Respect and space? A little song? All of these, but in different ways on different days—because life is tough and there are happy days and hairball days and Jenn understands them all🌻

Katie was fantastic with our sweet Loki! He warmed up to her almost instantly, and she did a great job communicating with my partner and I the whole time we were gone. This was the first time Loki has not been watched by someone in our family, and under her watch he was totally fine! We will definitely be repeat clients :-)

We had a great experience with Beth! She took wonderful care of our senior cat, Apollo, while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and followed all of our care instructions. The updates and photos gave us peace of mind, and we knew Apollo was in great hands. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her!

We absolutely loved having her care for our puppy, Oliver! She was kind, reliable, and took such great care of him during her drop-in visits. The updates and photos always made our day, and it was clear that Oliver was happy and comfortable with her. Knowing he was in such good hands gave us so much peace of mind. We would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her!

I had a great experience with our McKenzie! She dropped in to spend time with my puppy Barrett, and it was clear right away how comfortable and natural she is with dogs. She gave my pup plenty of attention, playtime, and care, which made a big difference in keeping him happy and stimulated while we were away. She was reliable and communicative! The best Rover experience I’ve had. I had peace of mind knowing Barrett was in good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with her routinely again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and great with dogs.

Booking with Kelsey & Forrest to take care of my cat was such a great experience! They were very communicative, sent pictures and videos of my cat, provided updates, and took very good care of my girl 🐱. This was my first experience with Rover and it was very pleasant. If you want someone that’ll take care of your pet like their own, don’t hesitate to book Kelsey & Forrest. I will definitely book them again in the future :)

Natalie was a godsend! Our kitty is very shy and does not approach easily, but she took to Natalie right away. Natalie was also very communicative with sharing updates & photos, which we greatly appreciated. Highly recommend, and would gladly welcome her back.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a East Grand Rapids stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Grand Rapids. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
