“I’ve been having my puppy stay with Daniel and his wife periodically throughout the week for the past month. First and foremost, Daniel is very flexible and understanding of my sometimes unpredictable work schedule. Working in the health field, it’s comforting knowing that Hugo will be taken care of even if my days are longer than expected. There was one instance where I ended up working well into the night and Daniel was able to keep Hugo overnight. A huge help! Second, I enjoy the fact that Hugo is able to play with other dogs and interact with their dog parents throughout the day. I think this gives him good interaction and good socialization to help him as he gets older. Finally, Hugo is always so excited to see Daniel in the morning! This makes me feel like Hugo is having fun and is getting good attention while at doggy daycare. It’s very comforting knowing that Hugo has such a good place to spend his days when I’m at work.”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, currently have a rescue that is a Cur/Dalmatian mix. I fostered a German Shepherd and just found him his forever home! My previous pup was a pure bred red-nose pit! I work from home so am available for all needs! And yes, my dog does sleep on my bed! Lots of outdoor toys to tire them out! I have a fenced in yard and a “puppy pool” for those hot days! I live in a quiet neighborhood with an excellent dog walking route, even have a neighbor who put out dog treats in a mailbox for frequent walkers!
“We had a family emergency which resulted in a completely different person coming to pick up Tanner. Renne was flexible and understanding, which we were so thankful for.”

About: We have been with dogs and other animals our whole life and love dogs. Our Shiba Inu, Sami, is our fourth baby. Your pet will get the attention and safety he/she needs and will be treated no different than our own. Our work hours are flexible and we prioritize our walks with our pet so it will be the same as others. Sami gets 2 walks and 3-4 bathroom breaks per day usually at least 1 of them is off leash at a dog park. We are not a dog boarder, your dog will be in a home and will know the difference. We treat your dog with the same care as ours and will follow your instructions as instructed. Typically, bathroom break between 3-4 hours and at least 3 times per day for each dog. WE REQUIRE ALL CLIENTS TO PROVIDE PROOF OF RABIES AND DHAP.
“Megan did a great job watching our pup. She sent lots of pictures and kept us updated while we were gone. Harley was EXHAUSTED when we left, which is always a great sign. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I've had one or more dogs in my life since I was 6 years old. I currently have a senior red heeler that I rescued 8 years ago. Not only have I grown up taking care of my own dogs, as an adult I dog sit quite regularly for friends. I do work from home, which affords me the opportunity to take breaks to interact with and toilet my heeler and any other dog we have visiting, on their schedules. I work from home, so Monday thru Friday, I rarely leave my home, except to take the dog for walks. I may go away in the evenings, during the week, for a couple hours, but that's rare. I do tend to be more active on the weekends, doing my grocery shopping and running other errands, as well church on Sundays, and an occasional brunch. I do have a fenced in back yard as well as a senior red heeler (as stated earlier). My heeler doesn't really pay much attention to other dogs, and seems to prefer the company of humans. That being said, he gets along great with other dogs.
“Maggie was incredibly accommodating and patient with me and last minute request. My husky loved playing with her Luna, and I love the idea of her being in a home instead of a concrete kennel. I also liked that her sons gave my pets attention while they were there. 100% would recommend Maggie to anyone!”

“Ashley is super friendly and made us feel very safe leaving our puppy in her care. Her huskies are patient play partners and helped our pup start to learn some manners around adult dogs. I wasn’t ever worried she’d push them too far. Ashley was very flexible and we would happily book with her again when the need arises.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats all my life within my own family as well as being trusted to watch over friends and family pets as well. This includes dogs of all sizes, medical needs, senior care, etc. I am able to be home to give your pet the attention and frequent potty breaks they may need and can provide frequent updates and photos while you’re away. I look forward to connecting! I am currently working from home only part time and would be able to watch over your pet in the home all hours of the day and week. I have a friendly dog at home that gets along great with others. I have a yard and would be able to take your dog out leashed and for walks as it is unfenced at this time. I can definitely crate your dog if needed, let them roam around if that’s what you’re comfortable with, provide medication as needed, etc.

About: I’ve always had animals of my own, basically since I was old enough to walk. I started my own pet-sitting business when I was 13. I’m the go-to for friends and family when they need their babies cared for and I love every breed. I studied veterinary medicine for a number of years and have more recently begun to train dogs, as well. I work full-time but I make my own schedule and I can have dogs at my work. I also live just a few minutes away from my work and can pop back to my house when need be. I’m already taking care of our senior dog, our new puppy, and our two cats. I love being outside and taking the babies for walks. I have a fenced in yard as well as two other dogs and two other cats. I have a large crate as well as two portable enclosures and no shortage of extra bowls, blankets, toys, and towels. I live in a great neighborhood and there is a park a block away. It’s important to me that animals are well taken care of and I love spending extra time playing and snuggling with any babies I get to hang out with.

About: For the last 10 years, I’ve taken care of my rescue chiweenie through heart failure in all of her senior dog quirks. Since her passing i have so much love to pour into ur pets! I also have experience watching 2 dogs ( max and Thelma) for one month during a work exchange in Hawaii and a dog named goia for a month in Switzerland! Work looked like: 2 hour walk every morning, feeding, brushing, bathing. Etc. I am currently a server and a yoga teacher. My schedule is very flexible and I have a lot of free time in the mornings. I live in a very walkable area with a large apartment also available to pet sit in your home or available for long hikes or walks
“Katrina took excellent care of my dog Blu. She was consistent with communication and updates about how Blu was doing. She made sure to keep him comfortable and took him for walks throughout the day. I would absolutely recommend allowing Katrina to take care of your fur baby!”

“Jenn did a wonderful job caring for our anxious dog Isaac! I appreciate that she did a meet and greet with us at a local dog park before Isaac's stay, it really help put our minds at ease. Isaac liked Jen immediately and seemed happy to arrive back on his second day of daycare. We plan to continue to use Jen in the future!”

About: Hi, I’m Jacy! I provide reliable, insured dog boarding and daycare. I send regular detailed updates with tons of photos so you can know exactly how your baby is doing while you’re away. I strive to not only give your dog a fun, safe and comfortable place to stay, but also for you to feel comfortable and confident that your pet is being taken care of and having a good time while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages, including puppies, seniors, and special-needs pets. I treat every dog like family and strive to make their stay feel like a home away from home. For boarding and daycare, dogs must: • Be up to date on vaccinations — proof will be required before bookings are confirmed (Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis and Bordetella) • Be friendly with other dogs and cats • Be potty trained (or training if puppy) • Be comfortable being left alone for up to 2.5 hours (if needed) Flexible scheduling available—message me anytime. I’d love to meet you and your pup! AVAILABILITY: I work early mornings, allowing me to provide consistent care throughout the day. I'm available Tuesday–Saturday after 8:30am and fully available Sundays and Mondays. I require drop offs to be before 7pm to ensure all dogs in my care have time to get comfortable together and have a chance to burn energy before bedtime. I follow each dog’s routine closely, including feeding, exercise, and any special care needs, with safety always as my top priority. All dogs are fed in separate areas to avoid any food aggression and I keep dogs calm for 20-30 minutes after meals to avoid any possibility of bloat.
“Melissa was absolutely awesome taking care of our dog, Finn! She’s so friendly and Finn felt comfortable with her right away. I felt good leaving him in her hands. I definitely recommend her if you need some doggie daycare!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - East Grand Rapids
David watched our 16 year old blind dog while we attended a concert from out of state and it was a blessing. He is so kind and gentle and took the best care of our old pup. Our dog is severely attached to his dad and normally doesn’t stop whimpering for him but David said all went well and we couldn’t be happier he was well taken care of while he couldn’t be with us. Highly recommend booking with David!

Daphne gave our puppy,Roux, a fun day full of outings. She took her the dog park, the trails and the beach! Roux also got on very well with Daphne’s dog, Maggie. Roux had such a great time, I had a hard time getting her to leave 😂 Will definitely be booking with Daphne again!

Deb was amazing with my dog Adu. After a couple of days with her Adu was excited to spend time with Deb and she took great care of him. I am grateful to her for accepting a last minute request and for taking such great care of Adu. Adu always came back home relaxed and happy 😊. I would definitely recommend her. Thank you so much Deb!

Rachel was very patient and gentle in dealing with our Lucy. Lucy is a 15 year old senior dog and dealing with her is similar to dealing with a 90 year old grandma. I could tell that she was comfortable and at ease with her stay with Rachel. Rachel is understanding of a dog's needs and can be trusted to provide the best care possible for your dog. Rachel does a good job.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your East Grand Rapids commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
