About: I’ve had dogs of all sizes for over 20 years, from high-energy pups to shy and reactive dogs. My current family dog is a sweet 10-year-old on anxiety meds. I also have a 13-year-old cat who keeps me on my toes! Because of that, I’m really comfortable caring for pets with all kinds of personalities and needs. My family pets live elsewhere, so I can offer my apartment as a safe place for any pets who don't get along with others! I know how it feels to trust someone else with your furry family, so I always show up as the kind of sitter I’d want for my own pets — reliable, gentle, and respectful of your home and routines. Whether your pet needs extra patience, playtime, or just quiet company, I’ll make sure they feel safe and cared for. I am currently working part time, and from home! I have a great amount of flexibility to leave during the day, be available to care for pets in their own space, or welcome them to mine. I live alone in a quiet apartment building, with plenty of grassy areas around me. My apartment is a great place for pets that need a quiet and safe environment. My mom is housing my dog and cat currently, so if you pet needs company they are welcome to visit for a field trip! My pets have always had specific routines and requests. I know it can feel like "too much" to ask certain things of a sitter, but nothing is "too much" when it comes to pets! I welcome all requests, and understand that opening your home to others can be nerve-wracking. I will treat your pets and your space as there are my own by maintaining the utmost respect, patience, and reliability.

“Donna was very loving with my dog. She let her cuddle on the chair and in bed with her. Donna was flexible in allowing her to come early and open to varied pick-up times. Daisy walked in and made herself comfortable in Donna’s place after the first day. It was a great first-time experience. I will definitely use her again if I’m ever back in the area.”

“Shelby was WONDERFUL with Wren & Clover. Patient, flexible and fun! They had happy faces when I picked them up at the end of the day and Shelby provided photo updates for me so I could see how comfortable and happy they were at her house. I was moving that day, which is already so stressful and it took a huge weight off my mind to know my babies were being tended to with such sincere care. I highly recommend Shelby and her sweetie dog, Soma.”

About: Hi. I’m a stay at home mom who lives with my family downtown. I think caring for a dog or walking a dog would be just as emotionally fulfilling for them as it would be for me. My family and I enjoy taking our big Great Pyrenees for hikes and walks around the neighborhood. I love being outside in any weather. And honestly, walking a dog while the kids are in school sounds like a great way to spend my time. My two kids are in now school full time. My youngest just started preschool this year. This makes keeping the house clean and staying stocked up on groceries much easier. I have plenty of availability and flexibility during the weekdays mornings and afternoons. I treat clients dogs as if they were my own. I show respect to all animals and people and pay close attention to body language along with nonverbal cues.

About: Yes, that’s a goat in my pic. Made you look! I grew up with dogs of various breeds, and so have my kids (7 and 9yo). We haven't had a pet for over a year and are ready to share our home, care, and attention with yours. No dog is the same. So, tell me about yours! II'll tailor my care to meet their unique needs and quirks. Are they down to play fetch? Need quiet, calm? Love a morning walk? Spooked by blowing leaves? I'm happy to accommodate all types- even the goat type. I've raised puppies and cared for dogs through their last days. We love taking dogs on walks, playing in the backyard or snuggling. We often watch our neighbors' dogs when they're gone for long days or traveling, but if I was watching yours I wouldn't commit to watching any others. I'm currently working from home, so I have a pretty flexible schedule. I have my kids every/other weekend. So, when they're not with me, I'd consider house-sitting. Otherwise, your pup is welcome in my home. I've got a fenced yard, and plenty of kind neighbors who look out for each other. We live on a very dog-friendly block a short walk away from various parks. I would not leave your dog in the backyard, unattended until repeat visits where I've gotten to observe their behavior over time. Daily walks guaranteed, unless that doesn't work for yours. Would love a reason to move my body more! My kids (7,9) are in school all day, so it would just be me and your pup most of the time. My kids are well trained on reading dog cues and can discern when to give space/ how to play depending on temperment. That said, of course they'd never be left unattended with your pooch.
“Omg I had so much anxiety leaving him while I had to go to work but Mimi and her pets became quick friends with my pup Frankie. I am so grateful for her watching him while I was gone. Her dog Roxy was so sweet with Frankie too. He already loves goes to her house!”

“Megan did a great job watching our pup. She sent lots of pictures and kept us updated while we were gone. Harley was EXHAUSTED when we left, which is always a great sign. Will definitely use her again.”

Grand Rapids dog parents share their Rover experiences
Mimi was a lifesaver for us! We had an event we wanted to attend in town and Rover and Mimi came to the rescue! I appreciate her patience (as I was nervous leaving my dogs in an unfamiliar place) and attention to detail. My dogs got a walk, treats and Mimi gave them a safe haven for an afternoon. Ty!!!

This was our first time using Rover and it couldn’t have gone better with Alyssa! She was so loving with our dogs while we were away on vacation. It was great to have a peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Alyssa sent multiple pics through out the day and her communication was on point. We also came home to a clean and cozy house, which was great after traveling all day. We will definitely use Alyssa again in the future
