About: Hi I am Melvin, and I live with my partner Sean. I have loved dogs my entire life and wanted to dedicate my career to caring for them when they and their pet parents are in need. I have 5 years of caring experiences, and it has been a huge blessing in my life. My 3 dogs are all super loveable and like making new friends! With this service, I want to treat every dog like they are at home. Every dog is given a chance here, and so far my dogs have made over 250 friends! Our pet care routine that we are currently doing with our dogs and the dogs I watch occasionally has been ingrained upon on both of our schedules. Rarely does my partner and I skip or alter the pet care routine. We have a pretty tall fenced in backyard. Our three dogs love to play and get zoomies out there. We always introduce dogs slowly to the group with a meet and greet first, and dogs that need that special attention will always get it, and then some.
“It was a last minute booking for like three hours in the evening, and she was happy to watch my dog! She sent photos, she took good care of my disabled dog.. so glad I found her :) Will book again if I need to”

“Ashley was an incredible sitter! She provided extensive updates and had fantastic communication. Her dogs and Cub got along very well, even enjoying a very long walk together. I absolutely recommend her for your pet sitting needs! I’ll be sure to have Cub return again soon :)”

About: I've been caring for dogs and cats since I was still in high school! Multiple people have called on me to be kind and caring toward their fur babies. I have walked, fed, and brushed all different kinds of dogs and cats! I have been a willing participant of house sitting and I'm currently between jobs at the moment and have plenty of time for pet care! Of course, my employment situation might change, but I will definitely let you know if it does. As a result of my job situation, I'm available any time throughout the week and on weekends for any type of care! I am committed to understanding and loving the places I house sit in! I will make sure your pets will be cared for in your home. I take great pride in learning all the ins and outs of people's homes and making their pets feel like you never left! I'm very attentive and will tend to all of your pet's needs as they come along.

“Donna was very loving with my dog. She let her cuddle on the chair and in bed with her. Donna was flexible in allowing her to come early and open to varied pick-up times. Daisy walked in and made herself comfortable in Donna’s place after the first day. It was a great first-time experience. I will definitely use her again if I’m ever back in the area.”

“Megan did a great job watching our pup. She sent lots of pictures and kept us updated while we were gone. Harley was EXHAUSTED when we left, which is always a great sign. Will definitely use her again.”

“Loved Lauren and Jarek !! They made Britney's stay extra special!! They went above and beyond to make sure it was smooth sailing!! Highly recommend them and will definitely hire them when back in Michigan 😍”

About: I have had large dogs (akitas) since I was a child and have always loved dogs. I own a 6 year old pitbull who loves dogs just as much :) I work full time but spend all my free time with my dog so I'll enjoy your pup too. They will enjoy the fenced in back yard and dog park visits. I have a large home and a fenced in back yard that the dogs can enjoy. My dog always enjoy playing and making new friends I am currently laid off for winter break and am free everyday until the end of January. I am available for all service and will update profile once my break is over. I like to keep the dogs entertained either through playing tug of war, treat training or taking them on leisure walks throughout the neighborhood or parks.
“Omg I had so much anxiety leaving him while I had to go to work but Mimi and her pets became quick friends with my pup Frankie. I am so grateful for her watching him while I was gone. Her dog Roxy was so sweet with Frankie too. He already loves goes to her house!”

“Melissa was absolutely awesome taking care of our dog, Finn! She’s so friendly and Finn felt comfortable with her right away. I felt good leaving him in her hands. I definitely recommend her if you need some doggie daycare!”

“This was the first time using someone to watch my 5 mo old puppy. So glad to have found Linda! Grace was well taken care of and came home exhausted after a day of play.”

“Susan has been a fabulous fit for our pups and our needs. She is a true animal lover, has a big fenced back yard where the dogs can frequently run and play, and she treats each dog like her own. Having my pups stay with Susan is like having them experience a trip to a “grandma’s” house, of sorts. They definitely get loved on!”

About: I've always wanted a dog but only ever had cats. So, I'd walk the neighborhood dogs, dog sit, go to dog parks, you name it! I've even done some minor dog training (no certification, just online and book research) to better help the precious puppers! I now have a part time job so my days are inconsistently available but my nights are free. Available Sundays-Saturdays, just let me know what you need! I will only be able to walk your dogs or dog sit at your home. I live in a house with max pet capacity, so they cannot stay at my place. As for dog walking, I've gotten used to big dogs that pull. Just let me know what training you're using to reinforce good habits. I can happily take them for a short walk if they need a crate break or long walks to sniff like crazy and tire them out. If they get into muddy areas I can clean their paws, but I need to use your hose as I can only carry so many pet wipes with me on walks. If they do not have their shots or flea treatments, I need you to be honest with me. I will be walking other dogs and need to be concerned for them and my pets safety. If they are a puppy without shots I cannot take them to a dog park. I will need to avoid wooded areas if they don't have tick treatments. I also will not allow ANY dogs into my vehicle to prevent possible flea spreading. Meaning any dog parks must be within walking distance of your home, preferably a mile. I want to do what's best for you, your fur baby, and other fur babies.
“Marina was wonderful! I had a complicated schedule and she worked with me to figure out the best options for me and my dog. My dog loved her and was so excited to go back and see her!”

“Katrina took excellent care of my dog Blu. She was consistent with communication and updates about how Blu was doing. She made sure to keep him comfortable and took him for walks throughout the day. I would absolutely recommend allowing Katrina to take care of your fur baby!”

About: Yes, that’s a goat in my pic. Made you look! I grew up with dogs of various breeds, and so have my kids (7 and 9yo). We haven't had a pet for over a year and are ready to share our home, care, and attention with yours. No dog is the same. So, tell me about yours! II'll tailor my care to meet their unique needs and quirks. Are they down to play fetch? Need quiet, calm? Love a morning walk? Spooked by blowing leaves? I'm happy to accommodate all types- even the goat type. I've raised puppies and cared for dogs through their last days. We love taking dogs on walks, playing in the backyard or snuggling. We often watch our neighbors' dogs when they're gone for long days or traveling, but if I was watching yours I wouldn't commit to watching any others. I'm currently working from home, so I have a pretty flexible schedule. I have my kids every/other weekend. So, when they're not with me, I'd consider house-sitting. Otherwise, your pup is welcome in my home. I've got a fenced yard, and plenty of kind neighbors who look out for each other. We live on a very dog-friendly block a short walk away from various parks. I would not leave your dog in the backyard, unattended until repeat visits where I've gotten to observe their behavior over time. Daily walks guaranteed, unless that doesn't work for yours. Would love a reason to move my body more! My kids (7,9) are in school all day, so it would just be me and your pup most of the time. My kids are well trained on reading dog cues and can discern when to give space/ how to play depending on temperment. That said, of course they'd never be left unattended with your pooch.

South Hill dog parents share their Rover experiences
Joshua was a great sitter for my dog Blu. He was very communicative throughout the day, and responded very quickly whenever I’d reach out. I felt very reassured that Blu was in good hands whenever he was with Joshua. Joshua was also very kind and understanding with last minute changes in my drop off and pickup times. I would absolutely rebook with Joshua and recommend him as a dog sitter.
