We had a family emergency which resulted in a completely different person coming to pick up Tanner. Renne was flexible and understanding, which we were so thankful for.

Doggy Day Care • sept. 09, 2025

Instead of complaining about expecting you to take my word for it, I’m just going to post the entire message log between Renee and I. This woman was totally incompetent, rude, self entitled, and should not be trusted to look after your pets. My dog fell down a set of stairs in her house and she wanted to act like it was everybody else’s fault except for her. Below the chat between the dog sitter and I begins with my description of my dog entered when I applied for the daycare. Word for word, nothing has been edited except for deleting her address. Captain is old and docile and mostly sleeps all day. He is the sweetest old man. He needs some regular short walks periodically through the day but good luck getting him up if he’s currently asleep. I was leaving him with a friend while I’m at work because I don’t currently have a place to stay myself. But the friend suddenly says he’s not able to do it anymore so I have to figure out what to do with my dog while I’m at work. 11:18 PM Doggy Day Care Request - One Time: Mon, Sep 08, Tue, Sep 09 Drop-off: 9:00 AM - 9:00 AM Pick-up: 3:30 PM - 3:30 PM 11:18 PM Sun, Sep 07 I'm sorry, I'm not able to watch Captain on the 8th. I will be watching another dog that day that I don't trust around some other dogs, especially if they are bigger than him and he feels threatened by them. If you are really in a bind, I could put Captain in a room with a baby gate at the door so that he isn't totally isolated but also keeps the dogs separated. I am also concerned that there is no information filled in for Captain. I would require that he is neutered and house trained. Does he typically get along with other dogs? Does he have any aggression issues? Although I don't require proof of immunizations, being up to date on them keeps both your dog and the other dogs in my care safe. How is he around cats? Sorry, I don't mean to shoot off so many questions. These details are usually filled in already for the pet. Let me know what your thoughts are and we can go from there. Also, if you want to move forward, a meet & greet sometime today would be highly encouraged. Thank you! 7:20 AM Hi there, yes it is basically an emergency so I set up the app to try and find something in a rush and I will fill in all of that information today. 7:26 AM He is neutered, house trained, and he stays up to date on his shots. He might be a little late on 1 or 2 of them, I have to double check but in general he has all of his shots. He is good with other dogs and has lived with other dogs. 7:29 AM Well, depending on how your feel about Captain being separated in a different room on Monday, I am willing to give things a go. 8:13 AM Is there a way I can drop him off before I go to work? I work at 7am. I was thinking about dropping him off on my lunch break from 8:30-9:00am but you are just barely not in range to make it back on time 3:20 PM What time would you drop him off then? Just need to know because I walk my dog every morning-want to make sure I am here. My address is [REDACTED]. 3:29 PM 6:30am would work best for me. 3:32 PM Okay, see you then! 3:33 PM Yesterday You booked day care for Sep 8 – 9 I'm just a couple minutes away, sorry for the wait 6:33 AM Day care started at 7:09 AM, Sep 8 Thanks for taking him in last minute, it's been a crazy time for both of us 8:34 AM Sorry if he's a little anxious, he will warm up to the environment. Just maybe take him for a little walk periodically and it might help. If he sees his bed he will probably lay down on it 8:35 AM Your welcome. He is very anxious and has just now after 2 hours settled down for a nap. Things would be much better if I didn't have to isolate him by himself away from this other dog. I can't walk him periodically because I am working from home and I am on the clock. I can let him roam in the back yard from time to time. The problem with that is he has horrible trouble on my steps with his arthritis. I feel really bad for him. 8:41 AM Yeah he can do stairs he just needs a minute to work up the courage to go up and down, it helps if they are well lit so he can see where he’s stepping. It was kind of a rough night for him. I will try to get him some good exercise tonight so he can sleep all day tomorrow 8:43 AM It’s ok with me to put him outside for a while if the weather is somewhat decent. 8:44 AM I think tomorrow will be much better without this other dog here. Don't wear him out. At his age, he should sleep good regardless. Do you think he is in pain? 8:45 AM Judging by the way he is walking, I would have to think there is probably some pain in his hips. I think it's just genetic hip dysplasia. I think if he gets a double hip replacement he will be like a puppy again haha 8:49 AM Looks like I'm about 20 minutes away 3:04 PM Okay 3:07 PM [PICTURE OF DOG SLEEPING IN A BUSH] 3:20 PM If you look real close you can see captain laying in his favorite spot. I had him in the house a few times but he kept wanting to go back outside 3:21 PM Haha is he hiding in a bush 3:23 PM I don't think he's hiding-my dog likes to lay in there too. Maybe it's cooler? 3:24 PM Yeah he probably feels much better in the shade. I'll be there around 3:40 almost there 3:34 PM Day care ended at 3:52 PM, Sep 8 See Rover Card Loved an image 3:54 PM Loved an image 3:55 PM Today Honestly just a heads up captain has not pooped yet this morning haha so he might have to go outside before you clock in or on your break. I took him for a long walk last night so he might be a bit more mellow 6:46 AM Day care started at 6:56 AM, Sep 9 So captain just fell down my basement stairs. He is okay but I’m not sure how I’m going to get him back up. 7:12 AM Okay-I wrapped a towel around his belly and lifted his hind legs and got him upstairs. I can’t watch him anymore after today. I can’t handle him. He is really very old and I believe he is suffering. Bless his heart 7:19 AM Ok, is he walking the same as he was before? You should probably have a baby gate there if you're going to be a dog sitter. 8:14 AM And I typically do but this is why I cannot watch such an old dog. He is walking the same 8:16 AM And by the way, I had a baby gate up yesterday to confine him to one area and he pawed the hell out of it until it came down. So then put it back up and put chairs in front of it and then in his anxiety he barked and cried for two hours. I did this to keep him safe from that other dog. How dare you. 8:20 AM My dog does not paw at objects or knock stuff over. Go ahead and keep him outside until I get back, no offense but I don't want to hear about any more problems involving him being in your house. 8:45 AM [PICTURE OF DOG IN YARD WITH OTHER DOGS] 2:06 PM [PICTURE OF DOG IN YARD WITH OTHER DOGS] 2:06 PM [PICTURE OF DOG IN YARD WITH OTHER DOGS] 2:06 PM [PICTURE OF DOG IN YARD WITH OTHER DOGS] 2:06 PM [PICTURE OF DOG IN YARD WITH OTHER DOGS] 2:06 PM I'm a few minutes away 3:16 PM I'm here

Schedule

i work from home so I would always be here with your pet. Depending on the hours that your pet is in my care, we always go for a walk early morning and later in the evening.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 cat
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced in yard. Both my home and my yard are small so larger or rambunctious dogs might not be a good fit here. But smaller dogs would be quite comfy here and even larger older dogs that are more sedate.
