About: I have been taking care of pets since I was 12. Family friends woukd trust me to to take care of their cats and dogs when they went away for a while. I would help take care of the house as well. I love to go for walks with my dogs and go about 3 days a week with my dog Remi. I can watch dogs and cats when my family friends need me too. But also work part time at Pet Supplies Plus so I need a bit more time to plan when I work and when I can stop by and take care of pets. I always make sure pets have fresh food and water, follow their normal feeding schedule, provide exercise and playtime, clean up after them, and give them plenty of attention and affection. I also administer medication if instructed, keep their environment clean and safe, and update owners with photos and messages. In a client's home, I respect their routines and care instructions to help pets feel comfortable while their owners are away.

About: I was raised with dogs of many different breeds and have owned a dog most of my adult life. In more recent years, I have done pet sitting for friends and family, including dogs, cats, chickens and fish. Experienced with younger pets as well as seniors. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give full attention to your pet and housesitting needs. Available for vacations planned well in advance or last minute needs. If you're looking for dependable and trustworthy pet care, I'm your person. I treat your pets and home as if they're mine and communicate clearly and often so you can rest assured everything is going smoothly. As a seasoned veteran, I also take notice of extra details that may need attention or extra care. With permission, I often bring my pet loving teenage daughters along so your pets can have some extra loving.

About: I’ve had pets most of my life. 😊 Our family currently has a 5 year old Austrian Shepherd and a 3 month old kitten. I live an active lifestyle and love to be outside! I work from home and enjoy short breaks away from the computer! My children are mostly grown and I have a lot of spare time now that I’m at this stage of life. I’m good with animals and quick to learn their temperament! I’m pretty high energy and enjoy long walks and being outdoors. I pay attention to detail and instructions well.
About: Hello my name is Kandace. I am starting nursing school next fall and need to save. I thought it would be a good idea to do what I love which is taking care of animals. I am available mostly throughout the week to take your dog on a walk, or let them out when you’re away. I am available all day Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday to dog sit too. I am available mostly throughout the week to take your dog on a walk, or let them out when you’re away. I am available most weekends too. My days off are Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I love my animals like their my babies. I sleep with them, love on them, and they are spoiled rotten. I think that every pet deserves the most love that people can give to them.
“Mandee provided exceptional care for our 2 cats (& checked on our home/mail/trash). We appreciated the updates and pictures she provided. She played with our fur babies and made sure they were set with litter, food, and water each day. Would recommend and definitely book her again.”

“Kerrigan was timely, sent photos and spent time filling out the rover card with detail for our dog after each visit—which we really appreciated. We will be inviting Kerrigan back again!”

About: I have always had passionate for animals since I was a kid; I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. In order to fulfill this dream, I am majoring in animal science at Michigan State University as a third year student! Additionally, I volunteered at the Humane Society of West Michigan and Second Chance Cats. I would walk dogs, social cats, and clean litter boxes, bowls, and surfaces. As a volunteer, I learned how to understand behavior of pets to prevent a situation from escalating and promote the safety of the pet, myself, and others. I am excited to meet your pets and provide excellent care! I am not currently working right now, so time is flexible here! I am willing to work around your schedule and the best time for you. I am not available anytime on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. As I care for your pets in your home, I will make sure to follow all pet care instructions, whether it's dietary needs or medication regimens. I'll provide food and water when needed. Also, I could never forget to provide enrichment if the animal is comfortable. While I meet the basic needs, I will also be cautious of behavior in order to promote security for myself as well as the pet. Not only will I take care of your pets, but also, if comfortable, I can bring in mail, vacuum, or do laundry while respecting privacy and maintaining appearance of activity at client residence. Most importantly, I will secure locks and entryways to prevent unauthorized access by persons not approved by owners, and respect the boundaries of the home. As it goes for dog walking, I will be cautious of my surrounding environment, such as cars or other dogs, to promote safety for myself as well as the pet. Also, I'll never yank or pull harshly on the leash that could possible harm the pet. I'll always pick up after the animal.
About: I moved away from the New England area during the pandemic and came to the Midwest where I didn’t know anyone. Back home, I had friends and family begging me to go on vacation so they could dog sit my dog, but here, without knowing too many people, finding a dog sitter was a really difficult ordeal. Thankfully, Rover and other apps helped, especially when I was able to travel again. I'm looking to help out in the same way this app and others helped me. I live in a large home with my wife Kelly (can't seem to figure out how to add her name but she'll also be helping with sitting), two dog friendly cats, and a very chill dog of our own. Pearl and Boy are our orange kitties and Candy is a 55lb brown lab mix. Candy and I used to be a certified therapy animal team when we had more time on our hands. All three animals love company (mostly human company but other animals are more than welcome, too) so your pet will definitely not be alone while you're away between us five. We do have a fenced-in yard, a dog specific area over the garage and all dogs are welcome to roam the entire house - especially if you also allow that in your home. But if your animal needs their own space, they have the loft, the yard, and various dog beds to decompress throughout the house. The old owners of our home used to be dog breeders and the home came with amenities specifically catered to hosting dogs. While we don’t and won’t breed ourselves, these features of the home make a great dog-friendly home for any pet while you’re away! We both work full time but Kelly is home three days a week and I’m home the other two. Typically my day revolves around when I should take the dogs out anyway. Usually one walk around 7am, another around noon, another around 5 when I get back and one before bed. How we care for your pet will be completely up to you and how you normally care for them. The goal is to keep the disruption of a routine to a minimum while treating your dog to a change of scenery and a new friend
“Liz takes extra great care of my cat! Gives him lots of love, and I’ve noticed even cleans up a little around his living spaces. I feel good knowing my cat is well taken care of while I’m away”

“Allison took wonderful care of our cat, Walter. She made sure he had his wet food, spent time playing with him, and gave him lots of love and treats. When we got home, he seemed happy, relaxed, and very content, which gave us so much peace of mind. It's obvious that Allison genuinely cares about the pets she looks after, and we're grateful to have found her. We're looking forward to having her continue checking in on Walter each week. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone kind, dependable, and caring to look after their pets.”

“Sidney did great the pups really seemed to enjoy her. The only thing that she forgot was locking the back slider door upon leaving the house, but still totally worth a five star review despite the small over sight.”

“I reached out to Lindsay on short notice needing someone to watch Goliath (my Husky) and she came through. What impressed me most wasn’t just that she said yes—it’s that she went above and beyond the whole time. Lindsay sent me daily videos and pictures of Goliath, so I could actually see him having a great time instead of just hoping for the best. She kept me in the loop every single day with updates, which made a huge difference when you’re away. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care—it shows in how attentive she is. Goliath came back happy and well-exercised, which is exactly what you want. I’m definitely booking her again for my next trip.”

“Ivana is a punctual and a conscientious sitter and took great care of my dogs and my place. She takes her job seriously, was respectful to me and went above and beyond to care for my dogs. I will definitely use her services again. I am happy to have found her.”

About: Are you in need of someone who is trustworthy to take good care of your dog? I’m your gal! I will take care of your dog as if it was my own. I know how important it is to have a reliable, loving & dependable sitter! I work part-time and have a flexible schedule. Having two older & special needs dogs of our own, we are always making sure they aren’t left too long, get lots of exercise, play time and lots of attention. I have 2 small, friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. We don't have a fenced in yard, but please don't worry....I NEVER let the dogs out with out having the harness and leash on. I take EXTRA caution with this, as it would be a fear of my own. Our two dogs go out several times a day - always on a leash. You fur baby would be in good hands with me!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
