About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a child. My family treats dogs like they are human children, and your dog would be treated like a prince or princess. I ask that you ensure your dogs are all up to date on vaccinations and neutered/spade. Dogs that are trained off leash will do better at my home since our yard is not fenced in. I am home Friday - Sunday. If I have to leave for any reason, then my husband or adult son or adult daughter are always home. I do not have small children in my home. I have 14 acres of relatively secluded farmland. We throw a ball for our dogs and also walk them along the White Pine Trial each night. If it’s rainy or cold, we go into our indoor arena and let the dogs play and run around. I only accept dogs that are good off-leash because we do not have a fenced in yard.

“I reached out to Lindsay on short notice needing someone to watch Goliath (my Husky) and she came through. What impressed me most wasn’t just that she said yes—it’s that she went above and beyond the whole time. Lindsay sent me daily videos and pictures of Goliath, so I could actually see him having a great time instead of just hoping for the best. She kept me in the loop every single day with updates, which made a huge difference when you’re away. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs in her care—it shows in how attentive she is. Goliath came back happy and well-exercised, which is exactly what you want. I’m definitely booking her again for my next trip.”

I make it my number one goal that all pets are safe and entertained, while in my care. I am diligent about making sure that doors/gates are latched and keeping a close on your pet at all times. About: Hi, I’m Erika! Animals have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I bring that lifetime of comfort and familiarity into caring for your fur baby. Currently, my days are filled with pet care. I am a proud cat parent, so I am completely in tune with feline body language, routines, and the exact spot they like to be scratched. I also care for my neighbor’s dog on a part time basis. This means lots of walks (I love trails!), dog parks, playtime and providing companionship! Because pet care is a natural part of my everyday life, you can head out the door with total peace of mind knowing your pet will receive reliable, attentive, and tailored care that keeps their usual routine perfectly on track. I can't wait to meet your fur baby! I have a very flexible schedule and would love to walk/care for your doggo! It helps me get my steps in along with getting your dogs energy out! Whether caring for your fur baby in your home, walking them, or doing a drop in, my top priority is maintaining their absolute comfort and security. I strictly follow the routine you’ve established by keeping feeding, medication, and walk times exactly as they are used to so their stress is minimized while you're away. I treat your home with the highest level of respect, ensuring it stays clean, quiet, and secure. You can also count on regular updates and photos after our visits so you always have total peace of mind knowing your pet and your home are in safe, responsible hands
“Heather is awesome! Our pup Luka loves her, and we can tell she loves visiting him just as much. She does a wonderful job letting us know how visits go (including if our dog uses the bathroom, drinks/eats, had play time, etc). Heather shares photos of her time with our pup as well, which is so fun to see while we are away. She does a wonderful job cleaning up any messes and caring for our little guy. Highly recommend Heather. We will continue to book her!”

About: I have raised all stages of dogs from puppies to seniors. Dogs have feelings too and I pay attention to them. Love them all. They are my heart. I am available to sit during the week after work, which is 9 am to 5 pm, but would stay at your house with them and weekends. Take them out for walks and play time, potty breaks and feed them. Snuggle with them at night while watching tv. Provide lots of snuggles and treats if parents allow.
“Heather was excellent and took care of our dog and cats while we were out of state for 10 days. She set up a meet and greet with us before hand and then stopped over to meet the pets and learn how to take care of them. She was great at communicating and sent us updates and photos each visit. We will absolutely contact Heather again when we need a pet sitter. Thank you Heather!”

“Mandee provided exceptional care for our 2 cats (& checked on our home/mail/trash). We appreciated the updates and pictures she provided. She played with our fur babies and made sure they were set with litter, food, and water each day. Would recommend and definitely book her again.”

About: Is your dog: - High Energy? - Destructive During the Day? - A Little Chonky? Let me help you come home to a happy, tired, fit pup! As an avid runner, I'd love to take your pooch for a long run, chill stroll or anything in between! I'm also willing to do some light housekeeping during drop-in visits. For 11 years I worked at a pet specialty store educating customers about the best ways to care for their pets - dogs, cats, birds, fish, geckos/bearded dragons and small animals. During that time I also worked briefly as a dog trainer. I have dogs and cats of my own, and previously kept freshwater fish, an axolotle, Syrian hamsters, anoles, chinchillas and a tree frog. I currently have some early morning availability (6-7) and evening/night availability (after 4:00) during the week. Saturday and Sunday I am generally open and have more availability. Pet safety is my top priority. I always make sure doors and/or gates are secure and that dogs have their collar on when going outside.
About: I moved away from the New England area during the pandemic and came to the Midwest where I didn’t know anyone. Back home, I had friends and family begging me to go on vacation so they could dog sit my dog, but here, without knowing too many people, finding a dog sitter was a really difficult ordeal. Thankfully, Rover and other apps helped, especially when I was able to travel again. I'm looking to help out in the same way this app and others helped me. I live in a large home with my wife Kelly (can't seem to figure out how to add her name but she'll also be helping with sitting), two dog friendly cats, and a very chill dog of our own. Pearl and Boy are our orange kitties and Candy is a 55lb brown lab mix. Candy and I used to be a certified therapy animal team when we had more time on our hands. All three animals love company (mostly human company but other animals are more than welcome, too) so your pet will definitely not be alone while you're away between us five. We do have a fenced-in yard, a dog specific area over the garage and all dogs are welcome to roam the entire house - especially if you also allow that in your home. But if your animal needs their own space, they have the loft, the yard, and various dog beds to decompress throughout the house. The old owners of our home used to be dog breeders and the home came with amenities specifically catered to hosting dogs. While we don’t and won’t breed ourselves, these features of the home make a great dog-friendly home for any pet while you’re away! We both work full time but Kelly is home three days a week and I’m home the other two. Typically my day revolves around when I should take the dogs out anyway. Usually one walk around 7am, another around noon, another around 5 when I get back and one before bed. How we care for your pet will be completely up to you and how you normally care for them. The goal is to keep the disruption of a routine to a minimum while treating your dog to a change of scenery and a new friend

“Sidney did great the pups really seemed to enjoy her. The only thing that she forgot was locking the back slider door upon leaving the house, but still totally worth a five star review despite the small over sight.”

“Sabrina was absolutely amazing! From the start she got there early and really went above and beyond to make sure our cats were cared for while we were out. Many photos and videos shared, played with them tons, made sure they had everything they needed, and stayed in contact all throughout the day. I could not thank her enough for how great of a service it was.”

Dogs have always been a part of my life, and I truly couldn’t imagine a home without them. Both of my children have grown up around dogs and have learned to be gentle, respectful, and loving with animals. Creating a safe, calm, and welcoming environment for every pet in my care is something I take seriously. I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, so my goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and confident while you’re away. Whether your dog needs a walk, drop-in visits, daycare, or overnight care, I’ll treat them like they’re one of my own. Every pet deserves plenty of love, attention, exercise, and individualized care, and I’ll make sure they receive exactly that. I believe communication is just as important as great care, so I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member and provide them with the love and care they deserve! Before We Meet To help me give your pet the best possible experience, please let me know about: * Any medical conditions or medications * Food allergies or dietary restrictions * Favorite toys, treats, or activities * Triggers, fears, or behavioral concerns * Your pet’s daily routine and any special instructions * Anything else you’d like me to know to help your pet feel happy, safe, and comfortable I look forward to meeting you and your best friend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
