“Terry and Chuckie took EXCELLENT care of Max during his stay. He needed additional care for his eye condition and they immediately stepped up to meet all of his needs. Terry sent several updates throughout the day which helped put this dog mom at ease. Looking forward to his next stay with them!”

“Dan was awesome to work with, and his dog Penny is a sweetheart that immediately welcomed my young, anxious rescue lab Goose into her home. He made sure Goose felt comfortable in the house, provided him with sufficient exercise, and sent me daily updates with pictures and videos. Highly recommend Dan to anyone in need of a sitter!”

“Tatyana and her family are so kind! Meeting her before was the best thing so my dog could get acclimated to her space and her dog. She sent so many pictures and gave ample updates. She’s so knowledgeable and kind and moving forward will be the only one watching my baby. He was so comfortable and felt right at home. You can tell Tatyana truly has a passion for dogs! You can travel comfortable knowing your pup is in good care!?”

“Alissa and her daughter were very sweet and took great care of my dog Murphy over the weekend! I received plenty of pictures, and Murphy was bummed to leave - I’m sure she had a blast! I highly recommend booking with Alissa :)”

“This was Grace's first boarding experience. What a relief to know that she was well cared for. I received lots of pics and feedback. I highly recommend Susan!”

“Jenn was the most amazing sitter for our puppy! She is very responsive and great at sending photos and updates. You can tell that her and her family truly valued having our dog stay with them, even with him being a 4 month old puppy that does all the puppy things. We felt comfortable having him there and he came home exhausted after a fun weekend for him. I would absolutely recommend Jenn!”

“Our experience with Sarah was great! This was our first time using Rover and Sarah was very accommodating. She invited us for a meet and greet before our pup’s stay, was very responsive and offered updates on how he was doing. She made us feel very comfortable and we knew our dog was in great hands.”

“Remi took such good care of Lizzy during our three day trip! She was easy to communicate with, especially ahead of time to let her know of our dog’s particular needs. She’s got a nice home in a great area for long walks. Some people just truly love dogs and Remi definitely has that energy. I’d work with her again in a heartbeat.”

“Lauren was absolutely amazing with my 16-year-old Chihuahua, Ralph! This was his first time staying with a sitter instead of family or friends, and I couldn’t be happier with how it went. She kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which really put my mind at ease. Ralph did great—even around her two much larger dogs, which was such a relief! Lauren created a calm, safe environment, and her communication was top-notch. I’m so grateful for the care she gave him and would 100% book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, currently have a rescue that is a Cur/Dalmatian mix. I fostered a German Shepherd and just found him his forever home! My previous pup was a pure bred red-nose pit! I work from home so am available for all needs! And yes, my dog does sleep on my bed! Lots of outdoor toys to tire them out! I have a fenced in yard and a “puppy pool” for those hot days! I live in a quiet neighborhood with an excellent dog walking route, even have a neighbor who put out dog treats in a mailbox for frequent walkers!
“Amy did a wonderful job looking after our Beagle, Harvey for an extended weekend away. She was particularly good at giving us updates on how the dogs were doing throughout the weekend”

“Gabriella was so pleasant to work with and made pick up and drop off a breeze. She sent plenty of pictures and took great care of my dog Murphy! I would definitely use Gabriella again :)”

“couldn't be happier with the help Melvin and his partner gave us, we were at a bind and they came to the rescue! On top of that our Moka was treated like family and they sent pictures regularly, we will definitely ask for their help later on. 1000% recommended !”

“Toby, my dearest little 8lb. Cheweenie fur baby does wonderfully with Pam and her small fur baby crew! I am so grateful to have Pam and her fur family to care for Toby. He has a blast. Pam always goes above and beyond for Toby. Moreso, Pam is very intuitive and provides for Toby his likes and preferences such as his favorite sunspot, placed bed in front of heater vent, food preferences. Huge she let's him sleep with her at night as that is what he is used to with me. Upon picking Toby up, although he is always happy to see me I can very much see he has bonded with Pam and her sweet pups and cats, making his stay very nice and positive experience. Pam and her fur babies have become like extended family as Auntie Pam and his fur cousins ❤️”

“Charles, Casity and family did a wonderful job taking care of our dog! He felt comfortable from the moment he entered their home. Communication was great and they kept us updated with videos and pictures throughout the stay. We highly recommend them!”

“Matt was a very enjoyable person to work with, he accommodated some of our unexpected need for changes, get along extremely well with our dog, and that was apparent when I came to pick her up. We are very pleased with Matt and will certainly work with him again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
