About: My name is Sara and I have been an animal lover my entire life. I have had experience caring for dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and even wild animals! I have a Basset Hound named Minnow who wants to be friends with anything that moves. I can stop by your home to care for larger animals like dogs, cats, etc. But I am totally cool with your small animal (I.e. Guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, etc.) staying with me if needed. I would be honored to care for your pets, spoil them, and treat them like my own. I’m currently working full time 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. I can stop by your house to care for your animal early morning, on my lunch break, after work, and any time on the weekends. I have a safe and separate room I can place your small animal in while caring for them. A cage provided by the owner is required.
“Kelly was GREAT with Howard! I was a little nervous about a house with a few pets already, but they hit it off GREAT and let him burn off some steam. Loved receiving happy pictures of my pup getting just as many belly rubs and play time (if not more) than he gets at home. Thanks for taking such wonderful care of my dog!”

“This was Angela’s second time boarding my dog and things went great as expected. My dog loves Angela! She got excited when we were nearing Angela’s house. I really appreciate Angela’s care for my dog and flexibility with my schedule. She’s definitely my first thought when I need a sitter.”

“Cheryl did an awesome job with Preston during his stay. He had a fun time playing and napping over a long weekend at her home. She gave updates and sent pictures to keep us informed on how he was doing throughout the stay. She was very nice and thoughtful, and her dogs were very sweet and got along wonderfully with mine.”

“Winston loved his stay with Renee. She provided updates throughout out his stay and kept him busy with walks and trips to the park. She clearly has a love of dogs and is great at caring for them. Highly recommend.”

“Kalee was an amazing sitter. She was accommodating and flexible to our schedules. Kalee’s home was clean and inviting. She regularly updated our dog’s status with pictures. She went up and beyond when she realized she was running low on food. Will definitely recommend and use Kalee again when we are in the area.”

“Miranda was amazing with Paisley! Sent me updates while I was out of the country and Paisley loved having a doggy friend to hang out with for the week! Amazing fenced in back yard for them to play in! Thanks again!”

“Dan is great! He watched our 3 year old golden retriever, Jerry, in his home for 3 nights, and we couldn’t have asked for a better environment for our pup. Jerry was able to play with another doggo, run around a fenced in backyard, and hang out with both Dan and his son. Dan was also an excellent communicator, and he took on our booking after a last second change in our travel plans. We will not hesitate to book with Dan again in the future. A+++”

About: I’ve always had animals of my own, basically since I was old enough to walk. I started my own pet-sitting business when I was 13. I’m the go-to for friends and family when they need their babies cared for and I love every breed. I studied veterinary medicine for a number of years and have more recently begun to train dogs, as well. I work full-time but I make my own schedule and I can have dogs at my work. I also live just a few minutes away from my work and can pop back to my house when need be. I’m already taking care of our senior dog, our new puppy, and our two cats. I love being outside and taking the babies for walks. I have a fenced in yard as well as two other dogs and two other cats. I have a large crate as well as two portable enclosures and no shortage of extra bowls, blankets, toys, and towels. I live in a great neighborhood and there is a park a block away. It’s important to me that animals are well taken care of and I love spending extra time playing and snuggling with any babies I get to hang out with.
“Chris and Vashti were wonderful! They sent us photos and updates of our pup multiple times a day. Our dog, Petey, seemed so at home and happy there! We'll definitely be using them again! Thanks so much for a wonderful first time experience using this app!”

“Evvia was AMAZING!!! We were first timers when it comes to leaving our pup with someone and she sent us tons of pictures, made Oakley feel at home, communicated often. Oakley came home with a cute new Christmas handkerchief (and some cute Christmas photos to go with), a toy, and was spoiled with some homegrown eggs on his meals (after she asked our permission of course!) We will never use a different sitter again if we don’t have to!❤️ thank you Evvia!!”

“Hawraa was great with our dog and it’s quite obvious she likes what she does and loves the animals. She frequently sent us updates, photos, and videos and we definitely felt that our dog was in great hands. Thanks Hawraa!”

“Diana was awesome to work with! We received tons of (p)updates and pics while our dog stayed with her. When we picked him up, he didn’t want to come with us! 😂 Would definitely work with her again.”
“Gabrielle is very attentive with my dog make sure he is always comfortable and she also communicates with what’s going on with my dog makes me feel like it’s at home away from home”

“David was great! He treated my dog like he was family. I had absolute faith that my dog was right at home and all his needs were being met. I knew that I could leave my dog, with high needs and a big personality, in his care and he’d be in great hands. He sent updates & photos as well. Highly recommend!!”

“Our Kobe had another wonderful stay with Tatyana!! Tatyana takes the most amazing pictures and keeps us updated on his stay with her. Thanks for taking such good care of our fur baby 🐶 for us !!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Grandville
Chewbacca was made to feel welcome! I especially appreciated the meet and greet we had with the sitters dogs prior to the stay. O’Hara had a routine system for introducing her own pups to ours - it’s obvious that she understands animal behavior and takes the safety of other dogs in her care seriously.

Thank you, Christina and Michael O. for taking on Ollie as a first-time boarded pet. I truly appreciate all of the photos and videos you sent during his stay with you. He was so happy and well cared for, and I could not have asked for a better outcome or family to take care of him. You're the best! :-)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
