“Jenna is amazing! She was ultra responsive when it came to booking and she made it super easy. The boys absolutely loved her and had a great time. They came home all tuckered out. We can’t wait to see her again!”
“Dan is great! He watched our 3 year old golden retriever, Jerry, in his home for 3 nights, and we couldn’t have asked for a better environment for our pup. Jerry was able to play with another doggo, run around a fenced in backyard, and hang out with both Dan and his son. Dan was also an excellent communicator, and he took on our booking after a last second change in our travel plans. We will not hesitate to book with Dan again in the future. A+++”

“Alexandra did a perfect job sitting for my pet. She made my dog feel right at home, kept me updated throughout her stay, and was very accommodating and flexible. Would happily have my pet stay again!”

About: I’ve fostered a few pets and have been involved with animals all throughout my life. I have a big dog myself (my best friend) and so I can handle larger dogs, but also little and medium ones too! I can walk your dog, bring them to the park and just hang out! Im working part time currently, so I have time when off work to spend quality time with your furry friend(s). My schedule currently is not super consistent, so days can be kinda wonky on when I can help out, but I have time basically everyday before and after work if I’m working. I have a fenced yard, it’s not super big but if we need more space going on walks and to the park is always fun! I have a dog, a cat, and a tortoise at home so I have experience caring for all sorts of animals, and of all different sizes and personalities. I’m hoping to start volunteering at the animal shelter once they open up their volunteering! For me, spending time with animals has always been a huge passion for me and I’m excited to meet your fur baby!
“David was great! He treated my dog like he was family. I had absolute faith that my dog was right at home and all his needs were being met. I knew that I could leave my dog, with high needs and a big personality, in his care and he’d be in great hands. He sent updates & photos as well. Highly recommend!!”

“Our pups were well taken care of! Evvia and Deshawn took amazing care of them over the weekend! Will definitely contact again, our dogs had the time of their lives and are very sleepy:)”

“Molly was extremely flexible, thoughtful, and took amazing care of our dog overnight. Her place is lovely and our dog was instantly comfortable. Her dog is very sweet and calm. Would book here 100% anytime we are in Grand Rapids!”

About: I’ve always had animals of my own, basically since I was old enough to walk. I started my own pet-sitting business when I was 13. I’m the go-to for friends and family when they need their babies cared for and I love every breed. I studied veterinary medicine for a number of years and have more recently begun to train dogs, as well. I work full-time but I make my own schedule and I can have dogs at my work. I also live just a few minutes away from my work and can pop back to my house when need be. I’m already taking care of our senior dog, our new puppy, and our two cats. I love being outside and taking the babies for walks. I have a fenced in yard as well as two other dogs and two other cats. I have a large crate as well as two portable enclosures and no shortage of extra bowls, blankets, toys, and towels. I live in a great neighborhood and there is a park a block away. It’s important to me that animals are well taken care of and I love spending extra time playing and snuggling with any babies I get to hang out with.
About: I’ve had my own and taken care of friends and families pets all my life. I love to take them for walks, give them lots of love and treat them as my own. I work part time from home and I set my own schedule. I have 2 small dogs and a cat. I am up early every day and I am able to be home with the pets to give them a lot of attention and take care of their needs. I have two small dogs and a cat. My home is set up for pets and they are able to play on the furniture, take naps, go for long walks on my 1 acre property and plenty of room to play. I do have a medium sized crate to use for any pets that need it. I have 3 dogs now that I take care of off and on over the last couple of years. They always love to come back and think of my home as a second home. I work from home most days. My evenings and weekends are free. Pets always get a lot of attention and love when in my care. I always make sure pets feel safe and loved. I love to play with them and go outside. When at my home pets are treated as family and love to sleep on the couch or find a favorite chair.
“Chris and Vashti were wonderful! They sent us photos and updates of our pup multiple times a day. Our dog, Petey, seemed so at home and happy there! We'll definitely be using them again! Thanks so much for a wonderful first time experience using this app!”

About: My name is Sara and I have been an animal lover my entire life. I have had experience caring for dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and even wild animals! I have a Basset Hound named Minnow who wants to be friends with anything that moves. I can stop by your home to care for larger animals like dogs, cats, etc. But I am totally cool with your small animal (I.e. Guinea pigs, rats, rabbits, etc.) staying with me if needed. I would be honored to care for your pets, spoil them, and treat them like my own. I’m currently working full time 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. I can stop by your house to care for your animal early morning, on my lunch break, after work, and any time on the weekends. I have a safe and separate room I can place your small animal in while caring for them. A cage provided by the owner is required.

“Leslie is absolutely the best! She was so amazing with our high energy Boxer pup, Benny. Her dogs were so friendly to him too. We were beyond anxious about leaving him but she kept us in the loop with pics while we were gone. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Krysten cared for our 8 month old German Shepherd pup for a week with short notice when our previous arrangement cancelled. She made time to meet in advance and took our pup in while she was in heat. She sent videos and pictures while we were away. So grateful!”

“Angela did a great job with my baby! First and foremost she was available at the last minute and I really appreciate it. She listened to all of my concerns, made sure I was comfortable being away from my dog and Pebbles had a great stay. She sent pictures and videos atleast once daily so that I knew things were going okay. I absolutely recommend booking her for your dog sitting needs.”

“Will definitely be booking with Danielle again. Her and her family did a great job with my little guy. He came home happy and healthy and the communication between us while gone was great. Loved all the pics she sent us as well.”

About: I have cared for animals since I can remember- I grew up on a farm and my first ever job was at a pet store where we had extensive education about animal behavior and nutrition. I started fostering animals after college and while I don't do that full time anymore - cats and dogs always seems to find their way to our house when in need. I have done dog walking and house/ cat sitting on and off for friends and friends of friends for years and I always go out of my way to find more animals to cuddle. This gig seems like the best way to do that! I work 12 hour shifts only a couple days a week so I have many free days for pet care. I am home all the days I'm not working and can spend it with furry friends! I have a fenced in back yard and tons of walkable space near my house for plays and exercise for your baby. I am good at going with the flow of whatever the fur baby's energy is but I am also great at following a routine for your baby as well.
“Melissa was very flexible with scheduling and a good host for Roscoe. He ended up biting her husband when being let out of the cage, but they both still took great care of him while I was gone. Very gratfeul!”

Melvin was so kind and took great care of our sweet girl, Mabel. He took her over 4th of July weekend and she can be a little anxious with fireworks, and there were absoloutely no issues. He had a plan to keep the pup as comfortable as possible! You can really tell that he knows what he’s doing, and loves it too!

Jacy is the best!! We haven't left our dog very much, so it is still a little bit nerve wracking. Jacy made the stay so so reassuring with constant updates. When I picked up my dog, he didn't even want to leave to come with me! He absolutely loved it. We will 100% be back!!! She even went printed off picture of him from his stay. Seriously went above and beyond🩷

Chewbacca was made to feel welcome! I especially appreciated the meet and greet we had with the sitters dogs prior to the stay. O’Hara had a routine system for introducing her own pups to ours - it’s obvious that she understands animal behavior and takes the safety of other dogs in her care seriously.

Thank you, Christina and Michael O. for taking on Ollie as a first-time boarded pet. I truly appreciate all of the photos and videos you sent during his stay with you. He was so happy and well cared for, and I could not have asked for a better outcome or family to take care of him. You're the best! :-)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
