“Our German Shepherd loves Kelsey! Anytime I’m out of town for work she lets him out for potty and play. I love getting photos and she is always responsive and on time. Thanks Kelsey!”

“Another great experience with Alaina. Gone for a week and daily updates on Isabella and picture to help me not feel sad to be without my cat. Will continue to to book Alaina when she is available. Good to know Isabella is comfortable and i have no worries when traveling. Thanks.”

About: I have experience taking care of a variety of animals since age 5. From dogs to cats to lizards to horses to Guinea pigs to birds and more! Whatever your animal throws at me I’ve probably seen before. I’m a recent college graduate looking to lean more into my art so I’ll have plenty of time to take care of your precious fur baby! I’ve dealt with a variety of animals with a variety of temperaments, needs, and personalities. I believe it’s important to read an animals body language to make them feel comfortable and confident with their caregiver.
“Emily has been a total joy to interact with, all communication has been very easy and we feel that our cat Rajah has been spoiled with attention and love. We've really enjoyed the pictures of him she included with each visit, and we feel super grateful for her prompt arrival times, and her check-ins with us that evoke a sense of great kindness and care. We will absolutely rebook with her!”

“Elise was wonderful and did everything I asked. More importantly, my two cats were very happy with her—they played with her and even let her rub their bellies. I know they’ll be thrilled to have Elise care for them again!”

“Abby was fantastic! We were worried about using Rover for the first time but ended up being SUPER impressed with the checkin system and Abby's work. She sent us pictures and an update every day. She was really quick to respond and nice to meet. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I grew up with multiple pets my whole life, with most being medium to large dogs of various breeds. I have 15 solid years of experience with dogs, some cats, and other animals. I am an animal lover at heart, and I am looking for work to give back and care for animals in the community! I am currently in a transition between jobs and am aiming to work remote in the future. I can fit care into a flexible schedule. I aim to communicate effectively with each client before going forward with a service to best meet their needs and the needs of their pet!
About: From puppies to senior animals, I’ve worked with them all! My goal is for you to feel more than comfortable leaving your pet in my care. My love for pets is endless and I will make sure they get all the love & attention you would give them if you were there yourself. My current schedule allows me to work from home four days a week and am free most evenings for pet sitting, walks or quick check ins. For drop in visits, I will chat with you ahead of time to go over care details and preferences for your pet. Same thing does for in home visits - I’m happy to share photos of my space or invite your over for a trial to have your animal be in my space and meet me before you book an official visit. My home is clean, friendly and inviting!
“First time using River and got so lucky with Melissa. We booked kinda last minute but she was super flexible and came over to meet our cats the next day. She recognized my older cat wasn’t eating much and made sure to put food out to ensure she got nutrition. She was super sweet and I know our kitties got plenty of interaction and play time. It gave us such peace of mind to know Melissa was watching our girls. If we need a sitter in the future, I would definitely reach out to her.”

About: Hey there, I'm Megan! My very first experience with dogs began back in 7th grade - my family brought home my first dog, a German Shepherd. I had been designated as the trainer of the new puppy, but none of us knew what we were in for. Ellie, my GSD, developed fear-reactivity to just about everything. I started working closely with a professional trainer, Nikki Welch (Dream Dogs Training). Ellie sent me headfirst into the world of dog training, reactivity, and aggression, which very quickly became a thrilling new interest. I started working for Nikki during the summers, first running play groups during playcare and eventually training puppies. Working under Nikki provided me extensive experience with a wide range of dogs, from puppies to adults, toy Poodles to German Shepherds, performing a vast array of tasks. Additionally, I spent two weeks in January 2023 interning at A Pleasant Dog, honing my skills with reactive dogs and furthering my knowledge about training dogs with positive and ethical methods. Most recently, I attended Chicken Camp in June 2025 through Teamworks Dog Training in North Carolina. It was an amazing experience working with a completely different species; I strongly improved my training skills by putting my previous experiences into practice and learning new methods. Discussing a wide variety of training topics with experts like Michele Godlevski (Teamworks Dog Training) and Lisa Triggs (Alliance Animal Training) opened the door for me to learn more about cooperative care, positive reinforcement training, behavior modification, and dog sports on a deeper level, while simultaneously enhancing my professional communication skills. I am comfortable working through any anxieties your dog might have -- yes, that includes reactivity! -- and would be happy to answer any questions I can about your dog's training and/or behavior. Spending time with dogs and getting to know each individual is a treat, and I look forward to meeting your special pup! I'm a local college student, so my schedule varies each weekday. Starting Jan. 12, I will typically be available for drop-ins and walks Mondays before 10am and after 4pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays after 4:30pm, Wednesdays before 10am and after 3pm, and Fridays 8am-5pm. Weekends vary, but generally I am able to take requests after 2pm Saturdays and before 5pm Sundays. Feel free to send me a message to ask for specific availability! I'm very familiar with the Grand Rapids area, local walking paths, and parks. My experience working with reactive dogs has made me very confident in my ability to be aware of my surroundings and keep your pup safe, whether on a walk or hanging out in the backyard.
“Molly did an awesome job watching Ivy! She was very communicative, reliable, and clearly an animal lover. Looking forward to having her back in the future for more drop ins ?”

“Abby was great! She communicated well during her visits and we felt very happy knowing our kitties were in great hands. She even brought in a package we had delivered. Would definitely book with her again.”

“Lauren was communicative, thorough, and got along so well with my cat, even with short notice! It was a load off my mind while traveling, and I really appreciated her time and work.”

“Holly was awesome with Luna and helped me out on short notice! She was reliable and provided me with great updates so I knew my fur baby was doing OK while I was away.”

“Brooke is so attentive to the dogs she is watching. She is always prompt to respond and shows care for the animals as if they were her own. Very grateful we found her!”

“Kristy did a very nice job with our cat. This was our first time using a Rover sitter and we were very pleased with the amount of attention she paid to him. Will definitely call her again.”

“Jasmine is wonderful and highly recommended. My puppy Teddy has adopted her as one of his people. My shy guy doesn't quickly adapt to many humans but he looks forward to Jasmine's visits each week. 5 Stars for sure!”

Norteast Citizens Action pet parents share their Rover experiences
Elise is great! She took amazing care of our dog and cat while we were away traveling. We received plenty of pictures over the course of her visits with our pets and it was reassuring to know they were in good care while we were gone. We missed them so much but were able to rest easy knowing Elise was taking care of them. Thank you, Elise!

Melissa was beyond amazing! She truly cares and is able to interact with animals that results in them feeling comfortable. She went above and beyond by adapting toys, taking care of the litter box every time and providing my cat with treats and plenty of play time every visit. It got to the point where my cat was waiting for her to arrive. Melissa is also just a kind and friendly human as well!

We so appreciate Tia being able to stop by for a fairly last minute visit. She spent lots of time playing with fern in the backyard and made sure she was fed. Fern was so happy when I got home and clearly had plenty of playtime with Tia which is great! We will certainly reach out for drop in visits again.
