This was our first time using Rover and were naturally nervous about the whole process. Our dog is still a puppy(7mo) and can be a handful. Elyse was super responsive and accommodating for a last minute drop in visit. Her care for Nimbus has put my mind at ease and relieved a lot of stress. I’ve already set up future dates for drop in’s.

About: I’m a dedicated animal lover offering reliable dog walking and drop-in visit services across the area. Having grown up with dogs and currently having my own sweet cat, I understand that pets are cherished family members who thrive on consistent routines, patience, and good care. Services Offered (No Overnights): • Dog Walking (30 or 60 min): Energetic or leisurely walks around your neighborhood, potty breaks, fresh water refills, and towel-offs for wet paws. • Cat & Small Pet Drop-Ins: Litter box scooping, strict feeding schedules, fresh water, and interactive play or gentle company. • Dog Drop-Ins: Yard playtime, feeding, medication routines, and plenty of affection while you're at work or away for the day. Why Choose Me: • Daily Photo & GPS Updates: Every visit includes a detailed Rover Card with photos and notes so you know exactly how your pet's visit went. • Home & Property Respect: Tidy feeding areas, secure locking, and bringing in mail/packages upon request. • Flexible & Patient: Comfortable with both active dogs and shy cats who need to set their own pace. I’d love to help keep your pets happy and well-exercised! Send a message anytime! I work a full time job outside of Rover with a rotating schedule, primarily on morning shifts. I also have an hour long lunch break each day. I am more than happy to do drop in visits or walks during my lunch break, as well as before or after my shifts, to ensure your pet is fully taken care of! I have tons of experience walking, playing, and taking care of animals throughout my life. If your animal has a lot of energy, I would love to play and take them for walks to get that energy released. However I can help, I am willing to do so. I look forward to learning more about your pet and creating an overall good experience. :)

Jenna was a fantastic sitter for my kitty! My usual cat sitters weren’t available for the holiday weekend, so I needed to find someone asap. This was my first time using Rover, so I was a little nervous, but Jenna did everything I asked her to do every visit and sent me so many adorable pictures of my cat playing and snuggling with her. I’m very appreciative of Jenna being able to schedule my kitty into her weekend the week of. She’s very kind and sweet and obviously loves cats. I’ll definitely be contacting Jenna if I end up in the same situation again!

About: I’ve had pets in my life since the day I was born. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and even ducks! These days I have a dog (3 years old) and a cat (11 years old). I had a second cat who passed in 2022 from illness, so I have experience caring for animals of all ages and health. I am reliable, patient and caring with animals and will treat your pets like my own! My schedule is flexible and I am able to travel in the Grand Rapids area. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!! I work fully remote and have a very minimal meeting schedule Monday-Friday. My work is flexible so I am able to meet your pet care needs! I am also available on weekends! At our house, my dog goes potty either off leash in our backyard or on leash while we walk around the neighborhood. Our cat is strictly an indoor cat, but I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats and am happy to care for yours however you need! I’m here to meet your pets’ care needs, so please feel free to provide any special instructions. Whatever it is, I will be respectful of your pets, your space and your time.

About: I'm a long time pet owner and an animal enthusiast. Growing up with dogs and an entrepreneurial spirit my first job was dog walking/dogsitting in my neighborhood, progressing there from cats to hamsters to horses. The most important parts of animal care are patience and compassion as well as an appreciation for individualism. I would be honored to keep your furry friends company and give them the love and attention we both know they deserve! As a student I stay on a pretty consistent schedule and therefore a consistent availability as well. I'd love to get to know your fur babe and meet a new study buddy! When entering a pets space it's important to be patient and respectful! New people and experience can be intimidating and everyone feels much more secure when their boundaries are respected.

Sara was great….she took care of my Kitties and went above and beyond. She had to give medication to my kitty which was probably not easy. She sent pictures of them…. I don’t know how she did it, but the pictures were so good, my kitties never posed for me like that so they must’ve loved her. Thank you, Sara.!❤️

About: I may be new to Rover, but I am not new to caring for others. I am a lifelong dog owner and currently have a dog of my own, so I understand daily routines like feeding, walks, playtime, and providing a safe, loving environment. I am also a parent and work in childcare, which has given me extensive experience with responsibility, patience, and following specific instructions. I’m comfortable sticking to routines, recognizing needs, and providing attentive care. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with a loved one. I treat every pet with the same care and respect I give my own family, and I’m happy to follow any instructions to keep your pet comfortable and stress-free while you’re away. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, especially long-term and weekend care. I’m available Thursday nights through Sundays, which allows me to provide consistent, attentive care without rushing or overbooking. As a dog mom, I understand the importance of routines, exercise, feeding schedules, and recognizing pets’ needs. I’m used to planning my days around caregiving and making sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I have a large yard for supervised outdoor time. Since it’s not fenced, dogs are always closely monitored and leashed as needed. I have a friendly dog who enjoys company, and two children who love animals and are taught to be gentle and respectful. Pets are never left unattended. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my priority.

About: I worked for five years as a veterinary assistant/technician at a facility that offered boarding, where I became kennel manager. I'm confident working with seniors, medical cases, behavorial cases, and puppies. For all weekend drop-ins, my partner Alex will be accompanying me. I will be doing all pet care, but for my safety he'll be accompanying me. He'll be there to provide a little extra affection and play-time for your pets if they're interested. My schedule is open! I am a stay st home wife so I'll be able to devote plenty of time to your pets. I will have my partner, Alex, accompany me to all first visits for safety. He will also accompany me on any weekend drop ins. All pet care will be done by me, but Alex will give them a little extra love when applicable. I'm used to doing various different routines to care for pets. I have a dog of my own who's very friendly- if your pup needs a friend we can set up a play date! I'm mostly excited to offer one on one care for your pets in a way I was unable to do at a boarding facility.

About: I'm not real sure what sets me apart from other sitters, I just know I've loved animals my whole life. I've owned a few dogs and a couple cats over the years. I have a full-time job in retail, so my schedule is a little odd, but I have every Friday off, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening. If you need a sitter at your house, or just need someone to drop in and check on your fur babies. I'm available and reliable! I have a full time job in retail, but on my days off or my evenings off I'd like a little fur company. My senior cat passed away back in March 😢. I'll be kind and gentle with your pet/family member. ❤️ I was a boarder a few summers ago, but I'm just looking to help sometime out a little.

Izabella was so great with coco. I had a last minute request when her longtime caregiver could no longer care for her. I had set up care through another person on rover and they cancelled which left me just two days to find someone. Izabella sent me her work hours so I could coordinate drop ins and walks to work with cocos schedule. She came the next day for a meet and greet. While I was away she gave great photos and updates. She even offered to take out the trash and put some salt down. She offered an additional check in if needed the day we were coming back which was wonderful since our plane got delayed. Would definitely recommend her!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Kentwood stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kentwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Kentwood with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kentwood. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
