“Natasha did a great job taking care of our chihuahuas over Christmas. The pictures she took really showed how much the dogs like her. They seemed really comfortable.”

About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. Once I could handle him, I took him out, walked him, and helped give baths. As an adult, I have done multiple pet-sitting jobs for neighbors and family friends. I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages. My job experience includes retail, landscaping, and food/bar service. Working late nights in downtown Blacksburg, I have become keen at cleaning up messes of all kinds. This summer, my schedule is wide open! I play pool a couple of nights a week, but that doesn't last for more than a few hours and I can always go late/leave early to get back to the pets. When the school year starts, I will schedule pet sitting around my class schedule. I am equipped to handle dogs of almost any size on a leash, and I love to play fetch in a yard/at the park. I can keep food and water bowls clean and full, I can crate dogs if needed, and I can keep a litter box clean!
“Morgan did a fantastic job checking in on our kitties while we were away on vacation! She sent daily updates and pictures! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!”

About: I have been taking care of my pets and the pets of family and friends for as long as I can remember. I also had about two years of experience with dealing with my senior dog, Ella, on multiple medications, supplements, and a special die. I am a graduate student, so my schedule is relatively flexible as long as it fits within my availability. I am more than happy to get up early or stay up late to visit a pet, and most weekends I am free all day. I thoroughly listen to and follow through with the instructions of every client and make sure to respect their wishes while simultaneously ensuring that the dog or cat is taken care of in the healthiest and most reassuring way to the pet owners.

“Hannah has been great with our pup! Our pup is a rescue very shy and timid, and Hannah has done an amazing job building trust with her. Hannah has such a calm and patient personality. Highly recommend!”

“James was a great sitter for our dog, Teddy. He followed all of our care instructions, kept us updated with photos, and made sure Teddy had everything he needed while we were away. When we got home, Teddy was calm, relaxed, and settled right back into his routine. We’d be happy to book with James again.”

“Claire did such an amazing job taking care of Blue. She was great to work with, followed my requests to a T, and sent frequent updates! I would totally recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve been a dog lover since I was a little kid. My experience is feeding, walking, training and more! I’m great with helping dogs anxieties and stressors especially in a new environment. I will cater to your dogs needs and will provide a relaxing home. Open availability! I’m a stay at home mom and would love to take care and make sure you and your dog feel comfortable with the environment. I have a lot of experiences with different levels of anxieties and stressors especially in new environments. I will provide a comfortable and cozy home to help the dogs relax.
“Anisa was wonderful! She took extra care with my baby, and spent more time with him than I asked. She even worked over the holiday and still kept in touch with me consistently. Will book with her again!”
“Julia was the best pet sitter we could have asked for! My cat is 13 years old and I was nervous leaving her for a week after spending every second with her over covid. Julia always sent a picture or video and updated me on how she was doing, which made me feel so comfortable! Watching the videos I could tell how much attention Julia put into her stay as my cat definitely grew to love her. I most definitely recommend Julia while you’re away, she is both caring and responsible for your pets.”

About: I'm a third-year veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and have worked with animals professionally for several years through both veterinary medicine and pet care. Before veterinary school, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I helped care for hospitalized patients, assisted with treatments, and supported pets with a variety of medical needs. I've administered medications including oral medications, eye and ear medications, and topical treatments, as well as assisted with treatments such as subcutaneous fluids under veterinary supervision. That experience has made me comfortable caring for pets who need extra attention, whether that's giving medications, monitoring changes in appetite or behavior, helping senior pets stay comfortable, or noticing when something seems different from their normal. Outside of the clinic, I've provided dog walking and in-home pet sitting for dogs and cats with many different personalities and needs. Some pets need plenty of exercise and activity, while others are happiest with a calm visit, their normal routine, and some extra attention. Whether your pet needs medication support, senior care, or simply someone dependable while you're away, I bring professional animal experience and veterinary training to every visit. My veterinary school schedule varies throughout the semester, but it is planned well in advance. I keep my Rover calendar updated so my availability is always accurate. In general, I am available for early morning visits before class, evening visits after class, and most weekends. I also have additional weekday availability depending on my class schedule. If you're planning ahead for a trip, vacation, or recurring visits, send me your dates and location and I'll let you know what I can accommodate. My veterinary training has taught me to pay attention to the small changes that can matter with pets, like when a normally social dog seems withdrawn or a cat's eating habits suddenly change. If something unexpected happens, I stay calm, gather information, communicate clearly, and help determine what needs to happen next. As a VMCVM student, I'm familiar with local veterinary resources and emergency care options in the area. For walks, I take safety seriously. I check collars, harnesses, and leashes before heading out, avoid off-leash situations outside of secure fenced areas, and adjust activity based on weather, temperature, and your pet's comfort level. During summers, that also means being mindful of hot pavement and heat exposure. When caring for your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect from someone entering my own home. I follow your instructions, secure doors and gates after visits, bring in packages or mail if requested, and leave your home the way you expect it to be.
About: What truly sets me apart as a pet sitter is my lifelong love for animals and the deep-rooted experience that comes from growing up surrounded by them. From a young age, I’ve cared for a variety of pets—big and small—which taught me not only responsibility but how to connect with animals on a personal level. Over the years, I’ve become the go-to sitter for friends, family, and others who have reached out, trusting me to care for their pets as if they were my own. My approach is always compassionate, attentive, and tailored to each animal’s unique needs, providing both pets and their people with comfort and peace of mind. As a graduate student, I have a flexible and well-structured schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to pet sitting. I can be available for regular visits, walks, feedings when needed. Pet sitting brings me joy and a sense of balance. It’s a meaningful way for me to stay active, reduce stress, and do something I genuinely love alongside my studies. I care for pets with plenty of affection, playtime, and a calm, structured routine that helps them feel secure while away from their owners. When caring for pets at a client’s home, I make sure to follow their established routines closely, keeping things consistent and stress-free. I always communicate clearly with pet parents, provide updates, and treat every animal with the same care and respect I give my own.
About: Life long pet owner that adores animals of all sizes. I love to walk, feed and pet all the beautiful fur babies. And have experience with all dogs from Shih Tzu's to Great Pyrenees. I'm always timely, honest and reliable. Communication, flexibility and a loving environment are key to a great experience. Myself and family (if allowed/desired) are open and willing to care for any animals as needed. I love to take them for a walk around the neighborhood and play fetch in the backyard/park or just giving them lots of belly rubs and attention when the weather is too extreme or they are too tired.

Kevin was AWESOME! He accepted a very last minute request for two days of drop in visits with my boy Scruffy and even tolerated my separation anxiety and countless text messages and endless questions. He was always quick to respond and so kind in our correspondence. He kept me updated with videos and photos of his visits. I had absolute peace of mind. He went above and beyond any and all of my expectations. And, Kevin is Scruffy approved too! In fact, Scruffy has been looking out the window for his new friend hoping for a visit from Kevin today he liked him so much! I highly recommend Kevin. He gets 6 out of 5 stars ⭐️ from Scruffy and I.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
