“Courtney & Kam were amazing! We had a super informative meet and greet in the beginning. They had my boy over Christmas and I got pictures every day. I could tell how happy he was there. When I picked him up, he was super happy to see me, but I could also tell he was kind of sad to leave them. They went on many hiking adventures and he came back just as clean. Courtney & Kam were super flexible with the time, especially when I had to extend my trip a couple days early. Overall, I would recommend them. I could tell they loved my pup with all their heart!! They were super professional and very kind. I also saw how well kept and nice their home was.”

About: I take care of pets for family when they need it and have experience caring for older pets, puppies, and those with special care instructions. My schedule is pretty flexible so I can take time to walk dogs during the day. I’m most available during the weekend and after 5 pm for over night boarding, but can potentially accommodate other schedules. I have no pets, so my home is perfect for less friendly pets. Crates will need to provided if they are needed for your pet, but I’m willing to keep up with their routine.

“Walt kept our boy, Teddi, for four days. Teddi is a 3 yo intact English Shepherd who has never spent a night away from us. When we returned to pick up Teddi, it was obvious that he and Teddy had bonded very well. We are very pleased with the care that Walt provided and will certainly use him again.”

About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. In your home, I can assure you that my experience will allow me to provide the best care for your loved ones.

“Jessie and her husband were absolute angels and gave the best care to my cat, Sabine. Sabine is a special needs cat who requires medication. About: Once upon a time I lived in a college house that was a revolving door of cats! It seemed as though each of my roommates HAD to have one so we already had 2-3 wandering around. I learned how to care for them during that time and have cared for them ever since! Happy to work in any enrichment and just spending peaceful time with them.
“Anisa was wonderful! She took extra care with my baby, and spent more time with him than I asked. She even worked over the holiday and still kept in touch with me consistently. Will book with her again!”

About: Cats are experts at hiding when something is wrong, which is one reason I enjoy working with them. Whether your cat greets me immediately or prefers to watch from across the room at first, I'm comfortable letting them interact at their own pace. Some cats want attention right away; others need time to decide that you're acceptable. I'm comfortable caring for cats who need medications, special feeding instructions, or closer monitoring while their owners are away. I pay attention to changes in things like appetite, litter box habits, activity level, and behavior because those small details can tell you a lot about how a cat is feeling. My goal is simply to keep their routine normal and stress low, so when you get home, it feels like another normal day for them.

About: Over the past 16 years, I've cared for just about any animal you can imagine! A flying squirrel, a 15-foot python, dogs, cats, horses and more. I have my own pup of seven years and we absolutely love welcoming friends into our home. We live on a .4 acre lot in central Christiansburg and I have an incredibly flexible schedule so we're up for anything! Let me put your mind at ease as being away from your beloved pets is hard enough. I'll send multiple updates throughout the day and lots of pictures. Happy to care for any and all animals. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my home and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.

Working with animals brings me joy and peace, and making sure they are happy and well cared for is my life mission. I am comfortable handling large dogs (I have a lot of practice in my line of work as a veterinarian). I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.

About: Caring for animals is my true passion and calling in life! Since I began offering my house-sitting , drop-in, and dog walking services through Rover in 2022, I’ve had the privilege of building meaningful, trusted relationships with dozens of pet parents and their beloved pets. I treat every animal like family, focusing on trust, comfort, and genuine connection. With a background in hospitality, I provide calm, dependable, attentive service so you can feel at ease knowing your companions are safe and cared for. I grew up with cats and dogs in my family, and I currently share my home with two deeply loved cats I've had since they were kittens. In 2024, I said goodbye to my soul dog, a beagle named Lulu, who passed peacefully of old age. Losing a pet is always hard, but it has given me a deep appreciation for the unconditional love animals bring into our lives and is a reminder to make each day count. My experience caring for Lulu throughout her later years also gave me a deep compassion and understanding for the special patience, attention, and care that senior pets need. Im able to provide ample availability, flexibility, and full-time care for your pets. Your convenience and your pet's well-being are my top priorities. Xxx xxx Being trusted with someone’s home and beloved animals is not a responsibility I take lightly. My approach is rooted in reliability, clear communication, and safety.

About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. Once I could handle him, I took him out, walked him, and helped give baths. As an adult, I have done multiple pet-sitting jobs for neighbors and family friends. I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages. My job experience includes retail, landscaping, and food/bar service. Working late nights in downtown Blacksburg, I have become keen at cleaning up messes of all kinds. This summer, my schedule is wide open! I play pool a couple of nights a week, but that doesn't last for more than a few hours and I can always go late/leave early to get back to the pets. When the school year starts, I will schedule pet sitting around my class schedule. I am equipped to handle dogs of almost any size on a leash, and I love to play fetch in a yard/at the park. I can keep food and water bowls clean and full, I can crate dogs if needed, and I can keep a litter box clean!
“Kennedy does a great job walking and playing with my dog. I love getting the pictures while I'm at work. I would trust her to care for my pets if I went out of town - she seems like she really cares and wants to do what's best for the animals.”

About: It may come as a surprise that I’ve never had a pet growing up, but that hasn’t stopped my love for animals. One thing I love about pet care is that each pet has there own personality. I’ve cared for lazy dogs, hyper dogs, mean dogs, social dogs, cats who believe we work for them and the cats who insist they’re dogs. I’ve definitely seen it all. One thing I’ve learned about pet care is that you must gain trust. Each dog has their own specific, unique needs that must be met. Whether it falls down to a few more bathroom breaks throughout the day or extra tender love and care, all needs will be met with your pet in my care. As far as tangible experience, I’ve accumulated years of experience working and volunteering at several clinics and hospitals. This has afforded me the opportunities to gain experience with medical care as well. I am a huge advocate for fitness and exercise for myself and pet, so I can guarantee your pet will get lots of exercise with me.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, my family had some growing up and once I moved out I got 2 of my own. I’ve also watched many neighbors and friends dogs since i was young and feel more than comfortable taking them out, administering medicine, and loving on them! Fur babies are family and should be treated as such! And that’s exactly the kind of care I would show your fur baby. Dogs are creatures of habit, so it’s important for me to know what your routine looks like so I can try my best to keep it the same. It will be as if you’re not even gone! I work from home so my days are extremely flexible. Aside from occasional meetings and needing to administer my own dog his medication three times a day (6am, 2pm and 10pm) I have an open schedule to check in on your baby. If you were to bring your dog to me, they would be in a spacious little townhome with an open yard. All I ask is that your dog is friendly with other dogs, as I have 2 at home that would be there with us. One is a staffordshire terrier/husky mix, and the other is a border collie. They all would get plenty of walks and playtime together. If I were to drop in at your home, I would take whatever care necessary! What that looks like is up to you. Taking your dog on a walk, administering medicine, playing with them, whatever you and your pet need!
About: I have been taking care of my pets and the pets of family and friends for as long as I can remember. I also had about two years of experience with dealing with my senior dog, Ella, on multiple medications, supplements, and a special die. I am a graduate student, so my schedule is relatively flexible as long as it fits within my availability. I am more than happy to get up early or stay up late to visit a pet, and most weekends I am free all day. I thoroughly listen to and follow through with the instructions of every client and make sure to respect their wishes while simultaneously ensuring that the dog or cat is taken care of in the healthiest and most reassuring way to the pet owners.

About: I'm a third-year veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and have worked with animals professionally for several years through both veterinary medicine and pet care. Before veterinary school, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I helped care for hospitalized patients, assisted with treatments, and supported pets with a variety of medical needs. I've administered medications including oral medications, eye and ear medications, injectable and topical treatments, as well as assisted with treatments such as subcutaneous fluids and diabetic management. That experience has made me comfortable caring for pets who need extra attention, whether that's giving medications, monitoring changes in appetite or behavior, helping senior pets stay comfortable, or noticing when something seems different from their normal. Outside of the clinic, I've provided dog walking and in-home pet sitting for dogs and cats with many different personalities and needs. Some pets need plenty of exercise and activity, while others are happiest with a calm visit, their normal routine, and some extra attention. Whether your pet needs medication support, senior care, or simply someone dependable while you're away, I bring professional animal experience and veterinary training to every visit. My veterinary school schedule varies throughout the semester, but it is planned well in advance. I keep my Rover calendar updated so my availability is always accurate. In general, I am available for early morning visits before class, evening visits after class, and most weekends. I also have additional weekday availability depending on my class schedule. If you're planning ahead for a trip, vacation, or recurring visits, send me your dates and location and I'll let you know what I can accommodate. My veterinary training has taught me to pay attention to the small changes that can matter with pets, like when a normally social dog seems withdrawn or a cat's eating habits suddenly change. If something unexpected happens, I stay calm, gather information, communicate clearly, and help determine what needs to happen next. As a VMCVM student, I'm familiar with local veterinary resources and emergency care options in the area. For walks, I take safety seriously. I check collars, harnesses, and leashes before heading out, avoid off-leash situations outside of secure fenced areas, and adjust activity based on weather, temperature, and your pet's comfort level. During summers, that also means being mindful of hot pavement and heat exposure. When caring for your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect from someone entering my own home. I follow your instructions, secure doors and gates after visits, bring in packages or mail if requested, and leave your home the way you expect it to be.
About: I have worked at a humane society shelter as a volunteer for years in Michigan. I have fostered animals as well as helped dogs and cats give birth. I have experience with pet sitting and taking care of pets. I believe pets are our children. I have open flexibility and can give many references on how trust worthy i am as i owned a cleaning business here in nrv for 10 plus years licensed and insured. While at a clients home I will make sure the home stays cleaned up from the pet and goes on its normal scheduled walks and or care. While the pet is at my home it will have its own personal area that is kept well and it won't interact with our cats. Walks and playtime will be included.

“Sydney took great care of of our dog for a weekend. Maple had a great time playing with Sydney's dogs and got plenty of exercise in the back yard. Would definitely have Sydney dog sit again.”

“Amari was absolutely wonderful with Frost! She took him on very short notice, which I greatly appreciated, and he had an amazing time in her care. It was clear from the updates and from how happy and relaxed Frost was when we picked him up that he was well cared for and loved. Amari is reliable, communicative, and genuinely enjoys spending time with the dogs she watches. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Amari, for taking such great care of Frost!”

“Carmen and her husband were absouloutly amazing with our two dogs! She has an amazing fenced back yard that are dogs loved running around in. Carmen was great at communicating and sending me pictures and they worked around their schedules to find a convientent time for us to pick up our dogs. I will definately consider Carmen next time we need to board our dogs.”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of pets my whole life. I adore being around them and spending time playing, snuggling, walking, and giving them the best care. My family, neighbors, and friends all rely on me to take great care of their pets when they cannot. I am currently a student at Virginia Tech with only 1 class Monday-Thursday and would love to spend my free time with pets. I am completely open and very flexible to accommodate your schedules. I would love to pet sit weekdays as well as weekends. I have a backyard that I would love to play with dogs in, I have multiple trails near me to go for walks, and I will make sure your pet is comforted immensely when they are inside my home.

“It was our first time leaving Bucky with someone, but after seeing the place and meeting Richard and Kelly, we felt at ease knowing Bucky would be in great hands. They took GREAT care of him, and sent us pictures as well which we really enjoyed!”

“Angus had a great visit with Kurt! He was easy to communicate with a provided pictures while we were away. Looks like they had a lot of fun!! Will definitely use him again.”

“We had to book with Kayla pretty much as last minute as you could get. Our original Rover didn’t work out and we needed to find somewhere quick. Kayla was super communicative and easy going! Her other dogs are all so sweet and well trained. It was a great socialization experience for our dog. She sent us so many videos and pictures throughout the booking. We loved Kayla and would recommend her 1000x over”

“We’ve used Nancy a few times for boarding our golden retriever pup and she is fantastic! We love her bubbly and welcoming personality. We’ve always felt like our pup has been in great hands with exceptional care. Highly recommend!!!”

“Shannon was so great with our babies!! She sent us multiple pictures which eased my anxiety. Both of our girls came back so relaxed. We will definitely send our babies back to Shannon in the future!”

“Jessie is hands down the best sitter for my Bella. She sent pictures and updates and we even received a report card at pickup. Bella was so happy when she returned home. I wish we had found her sooner we will definitely be sitting with Jessie again.”
“Samantha is wonderful with my dog Charlie. I can leave him knowing he is happy and well taken care of. He is very excited when I pull up to her house to drop him off and when he sees Samantha. It's great not feeling guilty leaving him for a short or long stay. As a bonus, Charlie's behavior has improved since he has had several visits with Samantha, her family, and her pets!”

“I needed someone to watch my sweet girl tootsi for a couple of days at the last minute and I’m so thankful I found Dianna! She and her doggo tonka welcomed tootsi in their home like she was apart of their family. Tootsi was happy when I picked her up, and Dianna even gave her a toy to go home with when she didn’t have to do that at all! I really appreciate how kind and welcoming she was & will be booking again if I ever need to! I also appreciate all the cute and funny videos and pics I got while I was away. 5/5☺️ !”
“Veronica is our go-to when we need a dog sitter. We call it a vacation at Veronica's because she and her dogs are great with our younger dog. We joke our dog is like the little toddler that comes over to visit and play with her older dogs. It's great knowing he's taken care of and she's even sent us a few enrichment ideas that help us have new ways to play after he's home and rested up, as he always comes back tired and happy!”

“Deann was very attentive to the needs of our dog. We really appreciate that especially during the summer thunderstorms. She carefully followed all of the instructions we gave for him, and made sure he was safe and happy.”

“Ruth was amazing! She was incredibly flexible and so sweet. She made our dog feel right at home while we were away for 5 nights. She sent pictures and kept me informed. We would definitely recommend booking with Ruth!”
